OK so I have a new character that I'm going to use for a story, and I really just want to develop her.
I won't use your character, I just need to know how she could would react to different situations.

Here's a quick overview (helpful for drawing people in, more will be revealed in her profile):
Basically Maddi is a superhero (cliche sounding i know), and has just gotten out of a really toxic relationship. She uses hero-ing as an escape, and she's still sort of scared of her ex.

I'm still working a little on the plot, but I'm planning on having a fellow hero that is really close to Maddi (both in and out of costume), and all they want to do is help her, even though she feels like she's drowning.
I do think that this RP would help me develop her a lot more than I already have, and hopefully also improve my writing.

If I don't know you, I will ask for a sample paragraph of your writing.
If our RP's haven't turned out well before, maybe don't join, because I will probably end up deserting it and I don't want to do that to this one.

Abby tucked a strand of shaggy blonde hair out of her bright green eyes and back into her hood, clutching her weapon tightly. She had been doing this for years and she had never been this close to the city. She knew she should leave but a part of her was curious. And the cut in her leg was slowing her down. It wasn’t deep enough to need stitches but enough to be bothersome. She leaned against the staff to take some of the weight off, breathing a little heavily.
It was getting darker, she needed to leave now.
She couldn’t stop the pained gasp as she started walking.

Liz turned back to Crawford, relaxing a bit when she saw everyone else had left. ”Just admiring the architecture. It almost looks like something out of a story.” She glanced around the room for a moment before expressing her concerns. ”I don't want to seem pessimistic but… I don't see any sign of modern technology in any of those pictures. So repairs are going to very difficult at best… Impossible at worst.” She gave a light sigh as if asking for him to say she was wrong.

Name: Maddisyn “Maddi” Flynn
Age: 18, a few weeks from being 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Demisexual panromantic
Appearance: Maddi has dark brown skin, with a few darker freckles here and there. Her eyes are a simple green, but may appear emerald in certain lights and certain angles. Her hair is black and in a huge afro, but she often tries to tame it into fuzzy space buns or a simple fuzzy ponytail. It has a few pale blue streaks against it, and they stand out against her darkly coloured hair.
Style: Anything comfortable, really. She likes the colour blue, so she often incorporates the colour into what she wears.
Personality: Maddi is just a dork in general. Of course, she can be serious when she has to be, and she often is. But…she always tries to make people smile. Even if they’ve just finished a huge battle, she still tries to bring joy to people. Everyone needs a little happiness in life.
Maddi is also kind and generous. She does things for charity and helps in every way that she can. It doesn’t matter if her help does nothing: it could always brighten up someone else’s day.

Background: Maddi had always lived in the shadow of her father. He wasn’t particularly rich or anything, but everyone in the neighbourhood knew him. He was a high-ranking member of the school board, he had a high-ranking job at a well-known and rich company, and he probably had the most money of the whole neighbourhood. His wife, Maddi’s mother, was beautiful and a fairly well-known model.
Their parents were basically never home, so Maddi’s older brother Jensen would always look after her. Being 4 years older, Jensen was the only person who Maddi really knew as a family member. She was always quiet when they were home, and she rarely interacted with them: she barely knew them. That all changed when Maddi was around 14, Jensen being 18. The siblings’ parents had been at a party and were driving home extremely drunk. Their father veered off the road. And crashed into a lamppost. Both of Flynn parents died on the impact, and Jensen became Maddi’s legal guardian, as he was a legal adult.
Being unable to afford to remain in their house, the brother and sister moved into a small apartment. The studio apartment wouldn’t have fit most people, but it suited them. Jensen took up a couple jobs and would always work in the day while Maddi was at school so that he could be home when she was. They had to share a double bed, but this often made Maddi feel safer.
When Maddi was 15, she thought she found the one. And for the first few years, he was. Ryder Daniels was the perfect jock boyfriend. He was sweat, kind and always made Maddi feel better. She wasn’t the most popular girl, but he liked her for her. When she was 17, their relationship turned sour, and Maddi felt trapped. She would often spend nights just sitting on the bed talking to Jensen about it. But Maddi was scared to leave the relationship, as she didn’t know what Ryder would do to her. At first, he was just possessive: stealing her phone if he thought she was texting another guy, picking a fight if she even glanced at someone else. Then he turned violent. He would hit her if she refused him, grab her wrist so hard it would bruise and many other things. She finally mustered up the courage to break up with him, and it released a lot of weight off her chest (a couple weeks before this is being set).
Maddi started being Spiderling when she was about 16. She was bitten by a radioactive spider, which granted her with the abilities of a spider. At first, Maddi used Spiderling as a way to help people, and her ‘working’ mostly at night allowed Jensen to take night shifts. When Ryder turned violent, Spiderling became Maddi’s escape from his violence. Now it’s being used as a way to keep her freedom.

Powers: Enhanced strength, speed, endurance and agility; Ability to cling to surfaces; Precognitive spider-sense. She has organic web, so she doesn’t have to make web fluid.
Suit: I do have an idea but it’s easier to show you pictures of where I got inspiration from. Instead of pink it’s blue, and she has a hole at the back for a fluffy ponytail to fit through (as there is no way her afro is fitting under a mask).

Appearance: Hannah is 5’9”, Caucasian, with wavy shoulder-length dishwasher blonde hair and amber eyes. She has considered dying her hair but she can't settle on what color.
Style: She often wears a t-shirt or tank top with a cropped jeans jacket and dark-colored skinny jeans and wedge heels. She's not really a skirts and dresses kinda girl.
Personality: She thinks her wardrobe makes her look like a bad girl but she's really a bookworm and computer savvy. She's a great listener but she fumbles over her words when she tries to give advice. She's also very caring about her friends, of which she has few, unless you count her pets; a stray orange tabby and a friendly owl that pops up every once in a while.

Background: Hannah is an only child. Her dad was a Wizard and her mom is a florist. When she was 10 her dad started teaching her the magic from his books but he was killed in a car crash when she was 13. That same year she started taking Martial Arts classes. She still studies her dad’s books but now lives in a small two-room apartment and helps repair computers from there. She has had a couple of different boyfriends but it hasn't worked out yet.

Suit: because I’m a little uncreative it's basically very similar to Dr. Strange’s suit only differences are the shirt is a bit longer so it flairs out like a skirt and she wears an enchanted mask. The mask is red with a U-shaped brow so it comes to a high/sharp point and enchanted so her eyes appear silver, her hair turns black and ”grows” to her mid-back, and her voice sounds older/more mature.

Maddi perched on the roof of a tall building in the middle of the city. She was in costume, but her mask was off and scrunched in her hand. Her green eyes were red near the tear ducts, and she had tears staining her cheeks.

Mage was flying around, making sure that there were no signs of trouble yet. She did have a police scanner set up to alert her phone if something happened but right now it was pretty quiet.
She was just about to relax and head home when she spotted her crime-fighting friend. She smiled for a moment before she moved closer, seeing her distress.
”Webs? Are you ok?” she landed beside the blue-clad heroine, casting a simple illusion to give them privacy to speak.

"Hmm?" Maddi asked. When she saw it was Mage, she wiped her tears away. "Hey Hannah. I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me." In reality, she wasn't fine, but she hated putting her burdens onto others. She hated doing it to Jensen, but he always insisted that it was better than bottling it up.

Hannah sighed, rolling her eyes. ”Maddi, you're my friend… My best friend! Of course, I'm going to worry about you.” She took off her mask, this wasn't the time for superhero talk. ”It’s him again, isn't it?” Hannah never used his name anymore, not since he hurt Maddisyn.

Maddi didn't say anything, and Hannah could tell that her silence was saying yes. Maddi had broken up with Ryder weeks ago, but she was still scared. Of what he might think, what he might do, what he might hurt. She couldn't help but think about how Ryder might lash out: what he might do to Jensen. And if Jensen died…Maddi didn't know how she would be able to continue.

Hannah let out another huff of air, she wasn't annoyed, she was concerned. She reached over and placed her arm around Maddi’s shoulders to comfort her. Is it bad that I almost want the guy to turn into a super villain so we can beat him up without getting into trouble? ”It’s going to be ok, Maddi. I know the jerk is a bit of a weakness for you but we're two super-powered heroes. He won't be able to touch us or your brother.” She promised. ”I’ll protect you, you protect your bro.”

"But if I go after him, Ryder won't know it's me. He'll just go after Jensen, and he won't care. And if I try to protect Jensen, he'll just think I'm some random superhero."

Hannah's eyes widened. ”No, I'm not saying go after him…” she took a moment to collect her thoughts. ”Ok, one; I never said to hunt the jerk down. If he makes the first move against you or Jensen then we act. We don't even have to be in costume if that's what you want. And two; isn't protecting random people part of the reason why we wear these suits in the first place?”

"If I went after him as Maddi, I wouldn't be able to do it. He almost raped me, Hannah. How do I know he wouldn't try it again? It doesn't matter if I'm really strong, or if I have quick reflexes. He would still do it. You know what he's like."

Hannah winced sympathetically at that reminder. ”I don't know that he wouldn't. I haven't practiced future seeing yet.” she gave a brief awkward chuckle at her very bad joke. ”Again, I'm not saying to start it… But I do have something for you.” She reached into her pouch and handed Maddi a small stone on a leather cord. ”When you need any help, just touch the stone and think of me and I’ll show up in full uniform.”

Maddi hesitated to take the stone. She still wasn't entirely trustful of Hannah's magic, but they were best friends. She took it anyway, hiding it in a small pocket in her suit.

”Think of it as a personalized distress call.” Hannah smiled reassuringly. ”Do you need a lift anywhere or did you just want to hang out here for a bit longer?”
