"I don't know who 'she' is, but there is a lot on offer in this shop. I have daffodils, roses, orchids, peonys…even dandelions for the kids."
"I don't know who 'she' is, but there is a lot on offer in this shop. I have daffodils, roses, orchids, peonys…even dandelions for the kids."
“Oh yeah sorry she’s my mom. Peonies would be nice,” she said her smile slightly sad. This was the first year that she was ore than an hour away from the cemetery. She didn’t want to drive all the way but there was no way she wasn’t going.
"What colour? I have a whole range." Carys walked over to the wall of peonies. "I have more colours out the back as well."
“I like the light pink peonies,” she said looking at the wall carefully. She had a light pink peonie tattooed to her left wrist.
"I will just warn you: peonies are one of my more expensive flowers. It's because they are specially bred and farmed." In truth, they were bred back in her garden in Olympus. But she wasn't about to tell a mere human who she was.
She shrugged. “I’m fine with that. The flowers I wanted to get are usually expensive so I was prepared to spend a lot. Can I get just a small bundle though?” She asked looking at the flowers. They where gorgeous so definitely worth it. Plus for the first time in her life she really wasn’t worried about money.
Carys nodded. "Yeah, I can do that for you. Just give me a few minutes: I have a couple bunches out back." Carys smiled and then walked to the back of the store, out of view of the customer.
Cat waited for her. fidgeting with her hands slightly as she stood there. She couldn’t help but think about Carys. She seemed really nice and beautiful but Cat wasn’t going to push anymore since it didn’t seem like she was interested.
Even from the back, Carys could feel this woman's love. It wasn't even love: it was infatuation. And yet it was so overpowering. It took everything in her power not to run off and get away from her. She was weak when there was no love, but too much love sometimes had the same affect.
The longer Cat waited the more She thought about Carys. She wasn’t going to push but she definitely planned on doing some light flirting. She shifted slightly were she stood.
Although Carys had already collected what she needed to, she was hesitant to walk back out. The infatuation was getting bigger, and it was almost suffocating. Still, she reluctantly walked back, but she was in visible mild discomfort.
“You ok?” She asked tilting her head as she looked at Carys reappear. She looked uncomfortable and almost hurt to Cat. She looked around to see if the guy had came back.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" She began to ring the flowers up, ignoring the woman's ever increasing suffocating infatuation. She forced a smile. "So those come to around….$50."
“You look uncomfortable,” she admits fishing out her money. Trying not to think about the amount.
"Even if I am, it's no business to you. I don't know you, nor do I feel the need to know you." She waited for the woman to pay.
She handed her money biting her lip. “Good too know,” she mumbled picking up the bundle.
"Thanks for shopping at Carys' Crown Flowers, come again." With that, Carys went out the back of the shop, exiting via the back door. This seemed to be the correct distance for her to escape the infatuation.
Cat walked out. Face slightly red from embarrassment and anger. Getting into her car but not being able to make herself drive away. She wanted to know why Carys was suddenly acting weird but she also knew when she wasn’t wanted.
After about five minutes, Carys walked back into the shop and was glad to find that the woman had left. She did a few things and then discovered that the woman had left her purse behind. Dammit! She thought to herself.
Cat hadn’t even realized she’d left her bag. She walked back inside deciding that she needed to know what was up.
"Hey, you left your purse behind," Carys said with the fakest smile on her face. "I'm gonna close up now so I would appreciate if you could please exit the shop."
Cat picked up her purse. “Sorry just umm did I do something?” She asked. She really wanted to know to make sure she hadn’t slipped up some how. Maybe Cathys recognized her. She still steal from a lot of shops when she was younger but she doesn’t remember a flower shop.
"No, I have somewhere to be. So I am asking you politely if you could leave so that I can close and go there."
She nodded. "Fine," She mumbled again. Turning around and leaving. Her hand gripped her purse.
Carys closed the door behind her, locking it. It wasn't false, what she'd told the woman. She did have somewhere to be. Her home. Olympus. She walked out the back of the store, slowly changing into Amore.
