O'Hara's confusion quickly turned into mild amusement. "Are you suggesting that I'm a celebrity?" She asked with an incredulous tone. "In my swanky hotel?" Her eyes softened, and she couldn't help but admire Finn as she finally began to relax. "Your laugh is quite lovely, if I may say so," she murmured, resting her chin on her palm.
O'Hara's replies only made Finn laugh harder, prompting her to wipe a small tear from her eye. "Oh god…"
She began slightly blushing again, resuming the rosy hue she had been for pretty much the entirety of the time she had been in the doctor's company. "Well um… th-thank you." She stuttered. "Your humbleness is quite lovely too."
O'Hara's eyes flashed humorously. She couldn't help but smile broadly as Finn continued to laugh. Going out on a limb, she reached out and brushed Finn's hair behind her ear, teasingly lingering for longer than necessary. "Well, thank you. I am quite humble," she purred. "Would you like another drink?"
Finn held in a gasp, her heart fluttering in her chest as she stared wide eyed at the woman. She flushed a bit more, looking toward the soft skin of O'Hara's gentle hand, and nodded a bit. "If… if that's alright…"
O'Hara tilted her head to the side, smiled, and let her hand drop back into her lap. "Of course it is," she murmured. "I'm having another, so why can't you?"
Finn touched behind her ear, feeling the spot where O'Hara's hand had lingered. "I guess I'm just ot used to having my drinks paid for." She chuckled, smiling warmly at the woman as she called the bartender over again. "Two more please."
O'Hara's red lips pulled into a satisfied smile as she noticed Finn touch the spot she had touched moments ago. "Well get used to it, darling. That's the spirit!" she declared, pushing her glass into the bartender's hand.
"Your tab, Miss O'Hara?"
"I didn't waste half my life going through med school to be 'Miss O'Hara', now did I?" She arched her eyebrows and then muttered. "Yes, my tab."
Finn laughed again, her voice like a song through the musty, cigarette laced air. She smiled at O'Hara's wittiness, bringing a hand to her lips in an attempt to hide the grin. "Very well, Doctor O'Hara." She mused
O'Hara couldn't hold back her sigh at the sound of the other's laugh. Finn's laugh was an angelic sound that buried O'Hara's demons. She turned her eyes to Finn's and scrunched her nose playfully. "Damn straight," she purred.
Finn blushed a bit at O'Hara's response, resting her chin in her hand as she chuckled at the other's expression. "Hell yeah, You earned the title."
Her eyes blinked slowly, and she exhaled slowly through her nose. "I've hoped so," she murmured. She opened her lips again, but before she could speak, the bartender returned with their drinks. "Thank you," O'Hara said, taking the glass in her fingers and already moving to lift it to her rouge lips.
Finn waited for the soothing sound of the doctor's voice, anticipating another surprising quip, but the moment was gone once the pesky bartender interrupted. "Yes, thank you." She added, holding her glass but keeping her gaze on O'Hara's deep lipstick.
O'Hara sipped generously and put the glass back down. She sighed and closed her eyes. "Nothing like alcohol to get rid of what you want to forget, huh?" she muttered, opening her eyes again and turning them on Finn. "Lost your thirst?" she questioned, seeing the girl had yet to sip from her new drink.
Finn looked down, embarrassed she looked ungrateful when in reality, she was mesmerized by the woman's features. "Oh uh… just letting it settle." She muttered softly, taking a long swig of the drink and sighing as the stinging feel of the alcohol trickled down her throat. "I agree."
O'Hara exhaled a long breath, and her lips tugged into a smile. "I'm not rushing you, darling. Was just asking a question, that's all." She sipped again, this time a bit lighter. "Ahh, so… I've been talking an awful lot about myself, haven't I? What about you?" she asked, poking Finn's chest with her pointer and middle finger of her right hand since her left hand was occupied holding her drink.
Finn smiled, taking another sip before the crimson hue returned to her features once O'Hara touched her. My, she's daring… She thought with a sly grin, then cleared her throat as she set down her drink to better focus. "Well uh… what do you want to know?"
She blushes so damn easily. From that point on, O'Hara decided to play a little game with herself. What was the simplest thing she could do that would get Finn to blush? "Anything, really," the doctor remarked. "You can use the questions you asked me for reference."
Finn twiddled her fingers, tilting her head as she thought. "Well, uh, I live in one of the apartments downtown. Next to the one that set on fire, actually." She chuckled slightly. "So, not as cool as a hotel I guess."
(That game is gonna be pretty easy lmao)
O'Hara blinked. She remembered vividly the day the apartment had caught fire. The closest hospital was All Saints, and trauma was flooded with victims of the burns. So many people… so much pain… She shook her head. "Your lucky the fire didn't spread," she remarked. However, she knew exactly which apartment Finn was talking about. She can find me, I can find her.
(It's almost… It's almost like that's the whole point 😂)
finn sighed, scratching the back of her neck as she reached for her glass again. "Yeah… damn uh, sorry to ruin the conversation. Anything else you wanna ask?" She laughed somewhat distantly.
(Almost… perhaps… maybe… XD)
"No, sorry, you didn't," O'Hara promised her. "I was just reminded of something… What's your favorite movie?" she asked quickly to redirect the conversation to something hopefully a bit more light-hearted.
Finn smiled again, glad the topic had been changed. "Definitely The Wedding Singer. Everyone thinks its dumb, but I'm seriously in love with Drew Barrymore, and I love how sweet Adam Sandler is in it…" She went on, her smile growing with every word
O'Hara grinned. Her eyes watched Finn adoringly as she talked about her favorite things. Oh, she's adorable… She blinked quickly. Calm down, O'Hara. "It is a very good movie," she agreed. "Very sweet indeed. Your favorite book?"
Finn laughed, tucking some hair behind her ear as she admired O'Hara's intent listening. She had never had this much attention before, and it felt… incredible. Especially from the ravishingly gorgeous woman before her. "This sounds so dumb, but definitely the selection series." She chuckled, trying to keep from blushing.
O'Hara chuckled and leaned a few generous inches closer to play her game. "No, darling, it doesn't sound dumb," she murmured, tilting her head and winking at Finn. "I'm actually quite impressed that you've read the entire series. I don't have time to read long series anymore. What do you do for a living?"
