Ranir rolled her eyes and dropped the pretense. It didn't matter, ultimately. "And you say I'm lying poorly. I highly doubt you are your own agency. You say you've been doing this a long time, yet you expect me to give you answers simply because you're slightly more astute than most. You'll get nothing from me, best carry on your own business, and I'll carry on mine."
"Leave, and I can. I will repeat myself, I don't fancy doing anything unladylike but if it comes to it, well… you'll be bleeding out on the floor of this rusty old bar before you have the chance to say oops." they growled, pointing to the door.
Ranir regarded them coolly, making no move to leave. "I will do no such thing. I believe I'm staying exactly where I am, and I'd prefer not to have to engage you in combat either. Take care of yourself, I'm here for my own reasons."
She was more than ready to retaliate to an attack, ready to spring to her feet at the slightest shift from this other person. She wasn't about to underestimate them.
(Bump? ^^ Also, I'm trying to find our other rp, I'm afraid I quite lost it TwT)
(Sorry, I’ll be busy all day today so no response for now. I do wanna continue this though.)
"Oh, darling… look, I don't want to have to hurt you, see? But I can, and will. I'm here for information. Maybe we'll both find what we're looking for, but for now, I'm not giving you any room to run free." they leaned in, taking up a truly uncomfortable amount of personal space.
Ranir glared at them, her perfectly calm expressions slipping slightly. She refused to move back, no matter how much her skin prickled at being this close to them. She curled her lip slightly at them, meeting their gaze squarely.
"Get out of my face," she warned, an edge to her previously smooth voice. "Or you will regret it. I'm giving you nothing, and I'm not leaving."
"Oh dear, it's as if I wasn't going to kill you anyways. I'm feeling nice, so leave. Now." they growled, this being their final warning as they reached for their gun, pointing it at Ranir before she had a chance to draw hers.
Ranir barely shifted, jaw clenched as she stared down the barrel of the gun, leaning away slightly, instinctively trying to escape the danger of having a loaded weapon pointed directly at her. Flicking her gaze up to the other person, she studied their eyes for any sign of a bluff, and upon seeing none, she slowly raised her hands in acceptance.
"Fine," she said. "I'm leaving."
Probably better anyway, she decided as she slowly rose. It would be easier to find out information about this person if she spied on them without their knowledge.
"Good, dear, out you go." they grinned, ushering her out a little roughly. Once the woman was gone, they sat down next to the sleeping man and turned their gun on him. "Alright, Barton, talk. It's been a while since we last talked, old man, you think a fake identity would save you? Now, if you give me the information I need, I won't send this Axon Beetle through your brain and turn you into a human vegatable." they said, holding up a jar with the strange insect inside. The man still slept, so they shook him a little. "Barton! Damn you, listen to me!"
Ranir waited a grand total of three seconds before sliding around the side of the building and pressing against the wall right beside a window that shone in on the table where the strange person now sat, talking quietly to a man asleep there. With a perfectly trained silence and imperceptible motion, Ranir used her knife to jack the window open a mere sliver, just enough to let the sound trickle out. And then she simply listened.
The man awokd, but when he saw who it was he paled. "Rosi. It's you."
"Its Cass now, thanks. I kind of like this identity. Might save it for later if I don't get into too much trouble. Duke Grey, now… I'm not the only one changing names. Now tell me Barton, where. Is. It?" they hissed.
"I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about." his eyes drifted to Ranir, and looked away.
