"What if I fuck up? I'm not perfect. I'm not right. I'm a maid, not a Queen. Why did you choose to fall in love with me?"
"Because I did. You're perfect. You don't need to worry about what anyone else says."
"But what if I ruin the whole thing?"
"You won't."
So I've had this idea in my head for a little.

Ms Potter had taken her aside into a separate room, wanting to introduce herself first before she met the class. Val could see through the little window in the door as kids of all races, backgrounds and even some of those who weren't mortal file in. She turned back around to look around the side room when she smelledit. She held in a low growl and covered her nose and mouth with her hand. The scent of blood, of the earth from those who are already past their life time. A vampire. She shook herself into composure and peeked out the window. How many? two? three? no, to faint to be a group. One. One single vamp. she sneered and turned away. waiting for Ms Potter to return. That's all it usually took, just one.
She glanced up when Ms potter waved to her from the front of the class. She took a deep breath and slung her backpack over one shoulder as she opened the door.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm glad to introduce a new student! This Is Valerie…uhm, what did you say your last name was hun?"
Valerie offered a sweet smile, already loving the teacher just by how kind she was "marquis," she lied, not wanting to give her family's name away in case some thought it fun to seek them out.
Ms Potter nodded with a joyful smile "Valerie Marquis, everyone. Please welcome like you'd do with any other student." She waved to a chair next to a boy with black hair "You can sit next to Min, I'm sure he'd love to help you catch up in class, isn't that right?" She nodded encouragingly at Valerie and turned away to start the class.
"Val sighed through her nose and quietly made her way to the seat next the boy. She help in a snarl as she found out the smell was coming from him. Blood sucker.
She set her bag down and propped her head on her hand, occasionally glancing over at Min, "Not a Twilight fan I'm guessing, huh Eddy?" she arched an eyebrow, lot looking away from her notes she was copying down from the board

Geneva paced in her quarters. She was nervous.
Yes, she'd been shown of to the kingdom during her marriage to Aloa, but this was the time she was truly being shown off.
Would they accept her? Would they hate her?
She was just a maid. Just a peasant transformed into a Princess. She wasn't ready for this.
Loa had spent most of her morning trailing behind a council members, a set frown on her otherwise lovely face as she listened to him blabber on about the presenting ceremony for Geneva. She liked the idea of having masquerade ball, believed that it would be good for her subjects to get to know her new wife. What she dreaded and made her rethink the choice was explaining to her subjects their union, how there wouldn’t be a king, and how one born as a servant was going to be the right choice for the kingdom.
She knew Geneva was nervous as well and tried to prepare her for what was to come when meeting the rest of her subject while also trying to be kind and supportive.
She stopped in her tracks when the council member mentioned remarrying and clasped her hands behind her “there will be no such event going on concerning another marriage.” She said sternly “my love for Geneva is immeasurable and will never be changed. I do not care if the subjects don’t accept her at first. She is my wife and the one I choose to love. If anyone has a problem with that then they can come directly to me. Do I make my self clear?” Without waiting for a response, Loa turned on her heal and made her way back to the castle, head held high and gaze sharp with determination.
It had been strange when the maids had come to dress her for the ball. She used to be one of them, and now they were her handmaidens.
So many of her staff used to her colleagues, and now it was going to be ages before she got used to that fact.
The fact that Loa had been busy all day made her nervousness even worse.
Loa didn’t want to go back to their chambers still on edge from the walk, didn’t want to worry Geneva with what the council had to say. Instead she made her way to the study to work on her mosaic, her lasted piece being a willow tree in the winter.
Donning some gloves to protect her hands from nicking on the glass shards, she sat at her working desk and scooped a handful of colorful stained glass shard onto a small tray next to the piece. Taking a deep breath she started to pick out the colors she wanted piece to be
Geneva continued to pace, her hands wringing themselves in an attempt to distract the owner.
She glanced outside to a tree, where a small bird had landed. She moved over to the window, watching as another joined the bird.
The pair looked happy, and it made Geneva smile.
A branch reached out to her, a sturdy one that the girl had manipulated. She got onto it careful and sat as it moved her back to the tree.
Being in the sycamore helped her to relax.
A maid had knocked and poked her head in to tell Loa that dinner was going to be served with the council members that evening before the ball. Loa told her that she would be eating with Geneva in their chambers once she was finished working, and nodded in thanks to the maid as she departed the room. With a sigh and a long stretch, Loa set aside glass shards she wanted to keep for next time and pulled off her gloves.
She wouldn't be swayed in her decision, the council had done that one too many times in the past. Scooting out from her desk chair, she waved a graceful hand in a small circle to cause the lights around the study to dim until they had shut off completely. Locking the door behind her, she finally made her way back to their shared chambers, surprising herself when she realized it was darkening outside.
Nudging the door open, she peeked inside with a small tilt of her head, not seeing geneva anywhere. Stepping inside and shutting the door behind her, she noticed the window on the far right had been opened. With a small smile, she walked over and sat on the window sill that acted as a small seating area.
"Darling, what are you doing out there?" She asked with a bright smile, seeing the girl resting in the high branches of the trees that was outside their window
Geneva glanced up, seeing Loa. She'd sat there for hours, watching the birds as the world around her grew dark.
"I just wanted to watch the birds." She sighed, realising what Loa might be doing there. "Do we have the ball now? I don't really want to go, truly."
She sighed softly, not wanting to go either but knowing if neither of them showed up, the kingdom would start questioning everything. "Unfortunately we must, but dinner is to be served first. Then we get an hour to get ready." She watched in awe as the birds perched around the tree as well as on the window sill.
"Are you still nervous about becoming a princess?" she asked softly, knowing that it was a huge transition, one she could only imagine was very difficult for geneva.
Dressed? Geneva thought. But they already came to dress me. She paused. "Am I nervous? Well, of course I am. I'm not a princess, Loa. I'm just a maid. Just a girl meant to follow the orders of others. I'm not meant to give them."
She shook her head slightly "no, you're more than that. As for giving orders. you don't have to do that if you're not ready. The same goes for all the other princess duties." she sighed softly and sat on the edge of the bed, feeling guilty that Geneva now felt that she had to carry out all the responsibilities of a princess. "would you have married me if I weren't queen? …If…you didn't feel like you had to?"
"I think so? It's all pretty new to me, I guess. I mean, I do love you. I don't think I would have married you if I didn't. But it did happen very quickly. Too quickly, if you ask me."
He nodded and took a deep breath. "I don't want it to feel like a burden to you, having all these new responsibilities and such. If you do ever feel overwhelmed please know you can always come to me, okay?" She stood and started to walk back to the door "you don't have to go if you don't want to, I'm sure the people would understand." he said before she left to go get ready
Geneva watched as Loa left. She sighed, the branch below her extending towards the window. She stood up carefully, walking along the branch and climbing back into the room. She turned and thanked the tree for it's service, the branch returning to its original state.
Loa Shook her head and offered a soft smile as the maids tried to help her get dressed. SHe told them they could have a few days off and that she'd be fine without them. When they departed, she stripped down from her usual outing wear and pulled on the dress that was draped on her bed. A light, silver to black gown that depicted trees in the winter. He pulled on black gloves as well has a fillagree black mask to complete the look. Pulling her hair into an intricate bun, she added a simple crown of silver foliage work and took a deep breath, looking down at the picture of her brother on her small vanity with a fond smile. She touched the picture and sent a small prayer to the heavens before departing her chambers and making he way to the ballroom, passing Geneva's room on her way there and setting a white rose as well as a short note by her door, something she used to do before they were married
Geneva sighed as she turned back to face her room, fixing a small tiara into her hair. It wasn't much, but she felt like she needed to wear it for the sake of the ball. She didn't know if she was supposed to wear her mask yet or not, so she opted for putting it on, hiding the ribbon in her hair.
Loa smiled softly as she was announced into the room, greeting guests politely with a small curtesy or nod of the head. She climbed the dais and Bowes to the throne that used to belong to her brother before sitting down.
