(Nice! I’ll post a starter in a few mins)
Most of the gang was in the living area of the gang's house. It was a large open space with a big tv and an open floor kitchen. A few members were watching a random movie while others were playing poker. Alex, the gang leader, came out of his office and leaned on the wall. Whispering with a few other members.
Echo stood a few feet away from Alex, carefully listening in on his conversation. She wasn’t high-ranking enough in the gang get to be involved in these discussions, but she was determined to advance however she could. Her head bowed, she slowly walked up to Alex. “Excuse me, sir. How may I be of service?” she asked softly.
Alex looked her over face blank. He nodded. "Follow us," he said walking away with one of the members he was talking to. "I have your first assignment."
Trying to conceal her excitement, Echo simply nodded her head and followed the pair to wherever he was leading her. This was her chance to prove her worth to the gang and Alex, and she was not going to let him down. “If I may ask, what will this assignment entail?” Echo questioned cautiously.
"There's a member that's been… difficult," He said. "We need you to watch and keep her in the house until I have a job for her." He opens a door leading to a garage. There was tarp all on the floor and sitting in a chair was a giggling girl. She had a busted lip and black eye. Her hair was a mess.
"Alex my bro great to see you. whatever these bastardi think I did I promise I most likely did it," She slurred drunk but was smiling at him.
Echo tilted her head in curiosity at his statement, but didn’t think much of it until they entered the garage. Her eyes immediately locked on the girl, who looked as if she’d been attacked, but who’s expression was gleeful and smug. It didn’t take much else for Echo to realize that this girl would be a handful. “This… this is my assignment?” she asked in disbelief. “I… will do my best to handle this. Sir.” She stepped closer to the girl in the chair. “Um, hello there, ma’am.”
Cat looked the girl over. She looked back at her brother. "Awe you got me a babysitter. If I didn't know any better I'd think you cared," she said. Alex rolled his eyes.
"Echo this Is, Caterina. She'll be easier to handle once sober," He said running a hand over his face. "Tony stay here with them. Make sure she's acting semi-good before bringing her to her room."
Echo nodded at Alex, then turned back to Caterina as he left the room. “I’m here to make sure you don’t run away or get yourself into any trouble, ma’am,” she stated as calmly as she could. “Is there anything I can do to assist you?” She fiddled with a bracelet around her wrist, doing her best to keep her composure.
Cat looked at Echo and thought. She shook her head “this is going to be too easy,” she mumbled laughing slightly. “Nope nothing at all,” she said standing up but then immediately falling back down into her chair.
Echo squinted at Cat after her mumbled comment, but decided to ignore it. She was here to serve Alex and do his bidding, not get into fights with a—regrettably attractive—drunk girl she was here to watch over. As Caterina stood up, Echo tried to protest, but nothing came out before she fell back down again. Echo winced, and put a hand on Cat’s shoulder. “Are you okay ma- Caterina? Maybe we should be getting you up to your room.”
Tony stepped forward. “No not yet. Have to get her a later sober first. I’ll go get her water and food. You good with her alone?” He asked.
“Yes. Yes, I’ll be okay,” Echo said haltingly. “I can handle her.” She looked back at Caterina. “So… may I ask by what happened? Why Alex is having me watch over you? If I am not supposed to know that, that is understandable. I just feel as if it would be helpful to know in my current position-“ Why was Echo rambling some much? She just needed to calm down, right?
Tony left before she started asking question. Cat laughed. “You where assigned me and you don’t even know why. I guess my brother has gotten desperate,” she said leaning on the arm of the chair.
“I… suppose he has,” Echo replied, a blush drifting across her cheeks. Was she really a last resort, a desperate attempt to find order? She wanted to believe that she had more value to the gang than that, but she knew that Caterina was telling the truth. Her shoulders slumped, and she refused to meet Cat’s eyes. “So, are you going to tell me?”
Cat shrugged. “Eh he’s just an ass. I ran off because I hate it here. His guys caught me at a bar,” she said shrugging. Tony opened the door just in time to hear this.
“You broke one of those guys arms,” he said handing her a glass of water and a thing of crackers.
“Was it Joey? I hate him,” she mumbled before drinking a bit.
Echo went pale. This girl was clearly dangerous, if she was running away from and breaking the bones of hardened gang members. How was she going to be able to handle her alone? She looked at Caterina with a new hesitance in her eyes. “Oh, okay… alright then, ma’am.” She turned to Tony. “Are you sure that I’m the best one for this job?” she whispered, loud enough for Cat to hear.
Cat laughed again. “Don’t worry she’s usually not a physical person,” he said.
“Yeah! You have nothing to worry about,” Cat said sarcastically.
“Great. That is great, and perfectly fine, and okay,” Echo said with a false calm. “I will do my job, and it will all be okay.” She glanced back at Cat. “Are you feeling less drunk than earlier, ma’am?”
