I've tried making this before but it died really fast.
So the plot is roughly the same as all those Cinderella stories but really has nothing to do with cinderella. My character would be "Cinderella." Her late father was rich and owned a chain of cruise ships that are now owned by her stepmother. She works on the ships every summer as a maid, server, watching children, or anything else her stepmother or even stepbrother, whos around the same age, can think of. Your character is on vacation on the ship. They'd be around high school age maybe seniors so I'd say either with her family or friends.

The crew of the ship was rushing around trying to get last-minute tasks done before the passenger's board. Right before they were allowed in Melody was seen running down and grabbing a tray of mimosas. She handed them out to eat person boarding. Her uniform was wrinkle-free and she had a soft smile on her face.
Mivasis smoothed out her dress as she made small talk with the soon to be guests of the cruise ship. She followed her parents onto the boat, smiling at the crew. A girl with black hair handed her a drink, which she took a sip of, despite her parents disapproving looks.
"This is so good, though, " she protested as her mother took the champagne drink. She sighed, and made eye contact with the girl who had handed her the drink. She shrugged, and continued to walk on.
Melody's smile grew slightly and she had to hold back a laugh when the girl looked at her. She watched her leave in the corner of her eye before going back to greeting passengers. She was a little more careful about who she handed drinks to after that.
Though she had been on many cruises, Mivasis had not been on a ship so beautiful. It wasn't just the view of the ocean, but the interior decorated with expensive golden decor that fascinated her. She once considered being a designer, but decided that wasn't the career she wanted to take after discovering acting. Interior design did remain a hobby, though. She roamed through the halls, pulling her luggage behind her, because she would never let anyone handle her possessions. Although, the latch on her suitcase had not been closed properly, and a bundle of clothing spilled out onto the floor.
Melody had greeted the last of the passengers and was then sent off to her next task. She was pushing a big dolly of suitcase down the hall when she saw some clothes on the floor. she peeked from behind her cart and saw the same girl from earlier with her suitcase. "I'll help you with that ma'am," She said walking over with a soft smile. She picked up some clothes that where trailed behind.
"Oh, thank you," Mivasis said, her cheeks growing red. She stuffed her suitcase full again. "This is embarrassing, but uh, thanks." She wasn't sure why, but Mivasis found her heart beating fast. She smiled sweetly at the young crew member.
"No problem ma'am," Melody says handing her more clothes. "It happens a lot more than you think." She joked laughing it off.
"Oh, okay, that makes me feel better," Mivasis said, though she wasn't sure that it did. "I guess… I'll see you around?" She really, really hoped she'd meet the girl again, but she did not know why.
"Sure," she said still smiling. Her cheeks heated up slightly but she wasn't fully sure why. She new shed run into her a few times. The boat wasn't that big.
Miva piled some of the extra clothing in her arms and fumbled to close the case. She stood and with one last smile left down the hall to her suite, where her mother announced that there was a formal dinner they would attend soon. Mivasis nodded and picked out a light blue dress to wear, hoping to look her nicest. It was at this dinner she would meet new acquaintances; it was at this dinner where she could impress them.
Melody brought all the suitcases to the rooms just in time to get ready for dinner. There was always a dinner before the ship left deck. It had the captain, her stepmother, and brother and all the import or famous passengers. She usually served at it or got to stay in her room but this time her uncle would be there so she was going as a guest to keep up appearances. She got into a long red dress. It wasn't anything that would stick out.
After settling into her room, Mivasis left her parents a bit early to go to the dinner. She hoped she could escape them for some time- perhaps enough time to make a friend or two. She arrived, after having difficulty navigating the large ship, to a ball room of a sort. Before she could enter, she was stopped by one of the crew.
"Sorry, ma'am," they said. "This is a closed event."
Miva frowned. "My mother and father were invited," she said forcefully, but not too meanly. "The Tovraecs? I'm sure you know them."
The crew member shook their head. "Again, I'm sorry ma'am."
Mivasis huffed, frustrated. She supposed she would have to wait for her parents. So much for time away.
Melody walked down to the ballroom area. She saw the girl from earlier talking to a new crew member. “Hey Jacob what’s the problem here?” She asked looking between the two. She had her hair down showing off her long slightly curly hair. She held her dress up slightly since she found it a lot harder to walk in than her usual skirt or shorts. The heals didn’t help either.
"Ah, it's nothing. I'm not able to get in yet. No big deal, though," Mivasis said, deciding to play it cool. She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, admiring the girls outfit. "I really like your dress. It looks great on you," she said, a bit shy.
Melissa’s cheeks heated up again. She smiled and looked away. “Thank you! Yours looks great too,” she said. “I Umm do you mind tell me your full name. Bet your on the seating chart.” She pulled out her phone. She practically planned this whole dinner and hard the chart memorized but she wanted to check just Incase.
The corner of Mivasis's mouth lifted. "Thank you, it's one of my favorites!" She toyed with the hem of her long sleeve. "Oh, yes, of course. Mivasis Tovraec."
Melody’s eyes widened slightly. “Wait Tovraec like the writer? I knew she was a passenger but I didn’t know she had a daughter!” She said shocked.
