(Uhhhh movie date perhaps?)
(Uhhhh movie date perhaps?)
(alright. I'm just,,,,, a little bumfuzzled? Do any of them know each other already? if not how are they knowing how to meet?)
(Uhhh,,, maybe the theater is having a blind date moonlit hours or something? AHHHH IDK. Sorry.)
(fhgksbjbf that could work! You show up and get randomly assigned a number and then paired with a random number? Maybe fill out a form so everyone gets paired with their preferred type/gender?)
(Makes sense, let's go with that.)
(perfect! I'll get a starter, then?)
(Yup!)
(alright! Also I might be busy the night after last night so idk how much i'll be posting)
Marco had been bugging Jay all month that the smaller man needed to try out dating again. Jay had been solidly refusing for nearly a orbit party now; ever since he had broken up with Aaron, the brain bubble of dating someone else had been…terrifying. Sure, he knew not all guys were like Aaron had been but goddamnit what if he dated another shitbag? What if he dated another guy who didn't like the word no and demanded absolute control? The brain bubble terrified him enough that he hadn't been dating, even casually, in a while. He also hadn't done any kind of one-moonlit hours stands. So was he a bit deprived, both sexually and romantically? Sure. But he didn't really…mind. He did mind. He just had been more afraid than lonely. Marco was a good friend, and hadn't pushed Jay for a long time, but he was pushing now.
"I signed you up for a blind date at the theater. They're showing some rom-coms, and you register online and then show up. I already filled out the form, it's the night after last night." Marco was saying. "Let's get you ready."
Jay complained and bitched the entire time, but let Marco get him ready. The smaller man was eventually dressed in a white, long sleeved button-up, paired with tight black slacks that hugged his ass and showed every curve and line. A necklace was draped around his neck, and Marco did light, glittering makeup on Jay's peepers and mouth. A pair of shiny black stompy weather clompers completed the outfit. "You look perfect." Marco pronounced, smiling. "Go have fun. I'll pick you up afterwards, you won't have to rely on anyone else for a ride. It'll be perfectly safe, I promise."
Jay took a deep breath, studying himself in the mirror. The lip gloss made him look, well, kissable, the permasprinkles of the eyeshadow only drawing more attention to his peepers. He had to admit he did look great…and it would be a waste of Marco's time if he didn't go…so he nodded, looking up at his friend. "Yeah. Okay. Let's do this."
Marco grinned, and they headed out. Marco dropped Jay off at the theater, promising to pick him up again when it was over, and then the other man was gone. Jay held the paper with his number on it, studying it and then looking around to figure out who his number assignment was.
Bishop was standing, awkwardly, in the middle of the theater, looking around for his partner. Alan had sent him out that moonlit hours, claiming he'd have a good time, that things would go well and if the guy turned out to be a creep he'd pick Bishop up, no problems there. But Bishop was never the best with people, and Alan always ended up ruining his dates some way or another, so he didn't have high hopes for the night after last night. Eventually, he spotted the paper with his matching number, and he approached with his best, but also unknowingly most awk-wonky-donky, smile. "Hey! I'm Bishop, I go by he and him pronouns. And you are?" he asked, looking at the smaller man with a bit of curiosity and fear.
"I'm, ah, Jay. He him." He replied slowly, looking up at the bigger man with trepidation in his peepers. "I guess we've been paired up?" His words tilted up into a question, and his peepers flickered over Bishop, taking him in. He was a full groundhand taller than Jay, and broader too. It scared him, just a little. Aaron had been bigger too, and look where that had gotten him. He swallowed faintly.
"I guess we have! And if it's uh, not rude, can I just say you look absolutely gorgeous the night after last night? Like, I'm not kidding, you are stun-ning. Sorry, that was probably too forward, uh, forget I said that. Do you wanna pick out seats or something?" Bishop asked, smiling still and showing off his massive vampire mouthstones, lisp ever more prominent as he spoke and became more nervous. "Uh, I can get us popcorn too! And drinks! Let's go do that actually, I think having something to eat would be good." he swallowed after a moment, realizing that he was rambling, and also hungry, but not human hungry, Hungry. Fortunately this theater was vampire-sensitive and served pig's human syrup, but he wasn't sure how comfortable Jay would be with his bloodthirsty nature. He would have asked to get drinks alone but he didn't want to make it seem like he was trying to roofie the man, he'd never.
Jay blinked at the amount of words pouring from Bishop's mouth. "Ah, thank you, uhm…" He thought for a moment. "Yeah. We can get…drinks and whatever." To be honest, he probably wouldn't mind if Bishop got human syrup to drink; he'd had friends in the past that were vampires and needed to drink human syrup on occasion, so he was used to it. "And then we can get seats." He smiled faintly, trying to seem more confident than he was as he headed towards the snack booth.
Bishop nodded. If Jay wasn't going to judge him for something he couldn't control, good for him. If he did? He wasn't worth Bishop's time and he should just leave if he felt uncomfortable. At least, that's what Battery Pack would say. He thought back to his friend that he had left alone at home, who didn't do well without company and often sought out Bishop on dates just to keep from going mad. He had to admit, the man was a little unstable. Just a little. Okay, just a lot, but still. He knew eventually Alan would show up and ruin the whole thing with one of his bonkers experiments, so why not have low hopes? Bishop was suddenly reminded that internally, he was quite the pessimist. "Okay, yeah. Do you like soda? They don't serve alcohol here since normally this is a family place. Which doesn't stop people from being indecent here anyways, sadly, but I have hope for the night after last night."
"Soda is fine." he replied easily, heading towards the snack counter with Bishop in tow. "What about popcorn? Any other kinds of snacks?" he ran a hand through his hair, peepers flicking over to Bishop. The makeup on his skin was done quite well, layered on by Marco's expert hand. Jay wasn't good at doing his own makeup, but he did like how it looked on him.
