Okay okay. I know I'm doing a lot of rps today, or more specifically, starting them but hey don't blame me I got an idea to go reboot some rps, and then later in the day, er, night, er very early morning I got an idea to do a foreign exchange student type story but i kinda want someone to rp it with.
if you weren't already assuming it, i'd like to play the foreign exchange student

@croccin-champagne

hhmm, i have some longer temps and some shorter temps?

and uh….paired to try and come up with some fundraising plan, to save the school or a program both of them love? they're caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, or both did separate things, and ended up in detention and stuck with community service(maybe even, in the non-exchange kid's case, it was the only option other than juvie?)?

@saor_illust school

ooo that gives me an idea. since i'd like my character to be from japan, she'll just be like okay i'll do community service just because i can so then she's there because she wants to and then your character could be doing community service because of detention or something
(just building off of your idea)

and for templates, i was thinking like a medium-longish template?

@croccin-champagne

Name: Estelle De Vos

Nickname: Essie

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Hair Color/Style: Blonde hair, on the paler side. It naturally bounces between wavy and sort of curly, with the curls getting unruly when her hair is wet, or when she's just woken up. It's longer, down to a little below her shoulderblades.

Eye Color/Shape: Has heterochromia, sectoral to be specific, which splits each iris in half. Her eyes are half ice blue, half pale spring green. They're rounded, with a slight upturn.

Skintone: Lighter, usually, but tans well in the summer.

Build: Soft. Slightly willowy, maybe too thin, but most people don't notice.

Height: 5'3

Jewelry/Piercings: Her ears, and her conch. Has a tongue piercing as well, but most people obviously don't know about it. Navel and one cartilage on her left ear.. Her mother's ring, and her engagement ring, until she gave it away.

Tattoos: Has a small crown tattooed behind her right ear. This along her spine, right between her shoulderblades, a tattoo she got in high school.

Scars: Small scar over her left eyebrow from falling out of a tree as a kid. Scars from mundane little accidents. Has a couple scars on her ribs from getting stabbed during a mugging gone wrong.

Usual Outfit: In true LA fashion, shorts constantly. Loves cropped tops. Tank tops and camisoles/light shawls often, along with strappy sandals or tennis shoes. Doesn't wear dresses often, but does appreciate a good sundress. Not too much jewelry, because she was told it was 'too flashy'. Wears her hair up.

Personality: More extroverted, thrives with large groups of people. Cares deeply for the family she has left, and has learned that if someone screws you over, don't give them a second chance. Extremely loyal until then, though. Has a slightly manipulative streak, and won't hesitate to use it for revenge if she feels like it's worth it. Otherwise prefers avoiding revenge and things of that nature. Secretly a hopeless romantic.

Cutest habit: It's either the way she bites her lip when she's thinking or flustered, or it's her habit of wearing clothing that's too big when she's at home, especially if it's stolen from a friend.

Dislikes: The smell of burnt things, the color grey, carrots with a burning passion. Drunk men. Jokingly, people taller than her.

Favorite…
Color: Blood red.
Book: North of Beautiful. It was a book she and her younger sisters, both step and blood, read together.
Animal: Butterflies.
Item: Her mother's ring.
Place to be: Her backyard, under the stars.
Weather: Clear and warm. Likes clear summer nights, and the cool summer breezes that cut through the warmth.
Word: Eccedentesiast.

Jobs: Occasionally performs at bars for extra cash, but Lukas(her ex) didn't like her doing that, so she sort of dropped off for a while.

Theme Song: Break the Rules or Never Going Back

Flaws: Maybe a bit too jaded, too quick to jump to revenge after what her ex did. Doesn't open up to anyone without 'proof' that it's worth it.

Other: Has a dog. Is from LA, moved here a year ago and immediately started causing trouble. Just got out of a bad relationship.

Name: Saito Chiasa (斉藤 チアサ)
Nickname: Chi, Sa
Age: 16
Gender: female
Appearance: https://pin.it/juqtjoram5uzhs / https://pin.it/rlowfbgwasjebf
Usual Outfit: https://pin.it/xanlcprmopwc4c but with the bright pink and dark purple here at school, but https://pin.it/frfysj46yybo7k or some variation of it at home
Personality: Chiasa has a very outgoing personality, and can often be found with a bright smile on her face as she works on… well, pretty much anything! Back in Japan, students were expected to help clean up the school, so she always does her best to help out the school and make it a better place than when she walked in, although she's finding it a bit difficult to accept that American students don't usually bother to clean up the floors at all. She works hard at school, and always loves to learn!
Cutest habit: Probably the way that she hugs people. She'll sneak up from behind, and throw her arms around their neck/shoulders, resting her chin on the shoulder area.
Dislikes: the taste of burgers, pollution, deep waters, sudden weather changes
Favorite…
Color: Doesn't have one, though she loves pastels, such as the ones in this picture
Book: 斜め屋敷の犯罪 [Murder In the Crooked House] by 島田 荘司 [Sōji Shimada]
Animal: She can't decide between the Japanese raccoon dog and the Japanese dwarf flying squirrel.
Item:
Place to be: 江の島 [Enoshima] beach
Weather: sunny
Word: 守りたい [Mamoritai, meaning I will always protect you]
Jobs:
Theme Song:
Flaws: She bites her nails a lot, it's a nervous habit that she developed. She cares for her friends and family deeply, maybe a bit too much, as she will willingly stand directly between her loved ones and the attacker/"bad person," putting herself at risk, but protecting her loved ones. She also tends to get irritated quite easily with people who don't open up quickly. In Japan, most students aren't usually closed off, but rather happy-go-lucky and outgoing.
Other: has a pet japanese bobtail at home named 俐虎 [riku, meaning clever tiger], though she wasn't allowed to bring him to the us with her

@croccin-champagne

Chiasa stepped off flight JL2801, a big smile on her face. She was finally here, in America. She had been told that the family she would be staying with for the time being would be waiting for her at the airport. She glanced back down at the piece of paper she was holding, where she had the names of the family members for reference. Their child who was her age would be attending the same school as her, and would hopefully be her guide around. What was her name again? アナー{Anna}, that's right. After collecting her luggage, which really didn't consist of much, only a small red suitcase, Chiasa walked over to the area where they'd said they'd be waiting for her. She still couldn't understand too much English, but enough to understand what people were talking about… most of the time.

@croccin-champagne

"Congratulations. Your correction classes are over, Ms. De Vos."

Essie was barely paying attention to the man talking. Sitting slumped in the uncomfortable chair, one leg thrown over the arm of the chair and her arms crossed over her chest. She looked every bit the troubled pretty teen star of some bad TV show, and the technical reasons for why she was there fit right into that mold. That was what she was to everyone who knew her. Troubled.

"-Vos? Are you listening to me?"

"Mhm."

"Good. Then you'll be well aware of the community service required as part of the agreement with your father's lawyer. Five months mandatory detention sanctioned by your school and six of community service. At least you aren't back in juvenile detention, no?"

@saor_illust school

The family was standing in a corner, looking around. Anna had the sharpest eyes out of all of them, and upon spotting Chiasa, she immediately ran over, waving a hand in the air. "Chiasa! You're here! My family's just over there! I'm Anna, nice to meet you!" she exclaimed excitedly.

"Ha-" she started to say, about to introduce herself in Japanese, but caught herself, starting over. "It's nice to meet you too," Chiasa said in a heavy accent, bowing slightly. She straightened, giving Anna a smile.

"Come, I'll introduce you to everyone else!" Anna skipped across the floor, looking back at Chiasa every now and then.

Chiasa followed Anna, obviously excited upon her arrival and smiled politely at the other family members. "So, I hear American schools require at least forty hours of community service to graduate?" she asked, her accent still very heavy. "I don't mind the the community service, though," she added, smiling again. "In Japan, we don't have janitors, since we are the janitors."

@croccin-champagne

"Yeah, yeah. I know. I was there in court, you know." Essie said, rolling her eyes as she slouched further into the chair. She looked to Mr. Repelle, who hadn't actually been that bad during the summer and fall correcting classes. He'd tried his best to remind her that it would be over soon, as long as she kept out of trouble. And even if he was constantly trying to get the truth of why she did what she did out of her, he'd been nice. Talked to her about his wife and kids, and his brother, who was in college.

"Of course. But if this time has taught me anything, it's that you like not paying attention. The board will be in touch with your parents, they tell me, with specifics as to your community service. You've been a pain in the ass, De Vos, but we're going to miss you. Some of us, at least." That brought a laugh out of her, and she fished around her bag for the gift she'd brought him. Wrapped in newspaper, her signature, the little box couldn't have held much. But she knew he would love it. She dropped it on his desk, waving goodbye as she slipped back out and promised to keep in touch, casually, instead of as penance.

Her high school really wasn't ready for the storm coming, but god, would she have fun heralding it.

@saor_illust school

Janet, Anna's mother smiled at Chiasa as well. "We're all very glad you're staying with us. And yes, that is a requirement for graduation, but you don't have to do that."

"'Ey. Nice to meet you, I'm Max, Anna's older brother," he said, giving a small nod, offering his hand. He didn't look to be too much older then Anna, though.

Chiasa hadn't been prepared for this, and just looked at Max's hand with a confused look. She glanced at Anna, an expression on her face that said, What do I do?

Max caught the look on Chiasa's face, and chuckled. "It's an American thing where one person offers their hand like I did, and the other takes it, shaking it up and down," he explained with an amused look on his face. "Oh, and Mom, it isn't community service, it's volunteer work."

"Well, shall we head back home then?" Janet asked. "Mark's at home," she added, and then seeing the confusion on Chiasa's face, she explained, "My husband, and the father of these two."

As Chiasa and the family walked out of the airport, Anna piped up again. "Mom, you forgot to tell Chiasa that we live pretty far from the airport."

Janet sighed. "I've also been busy preparing the house for her arrival, you know. And you guys even got to miss school to be there when she arrived, so I had a lot to deal with today, mostly concerning you two though," she explained.

"Oh, I hope my coming here didn't trouble you too much!" Chiasa didn't want to feel like she was intruding on the small family, but she wanted to stay in America.

Janet looked at Chiasa through the driving mirror. "Really, it wasn't any trouble at all! The real problems stem from Max and Anna, though," she joked, to which Max and Anna made noises of protest, though big grins were on their faces.

The question was, what to do now. These correctional things had taken up so much of Essie's time that she didn't have many hobbies left, not that she had had many before. Even though her father had made it obvious that she could do near anything, by way of hobbies, and he could afford it, she had never…clicked with anything. Music was the only thing, and she didn't feel like going home to get her guitar yet.

So she did the only thing she could think of. She went out for icecream. That worked, right? She could get a small scoop, call it a celebratory thing, and not feel guilty about the carbs.

It took her ten minutes to make it to her favorite icecream shop, a little place called Bella's downtown, all the way across town from her house. Her family was an uptown family, according to the kids at school who had whispered about her a year ago, when she'd first moved. They had a 'fancy' house up in a place everyone called the Hills, because it was, you guessed it, a neighborhood on a hill. They'd quickly stopped whispering about her house, though. The first time she got in trouble taking up the attention. Then the next. She was great gossip fodder, according to a girl in her biology class, Anna. Every time the current topic started getting old, and people were fishing for something new to talk about, Essie was suddenly up to something.

And honestly? She loved it.
