"Make sure you tell me when you're going to, that way I can look somewhat presentable," She joked, a smile on her face, "I don't even want to say how many people have asked me just in the past week." Oriana could feel her blush fading slowly but she was still flusted, nervous to know that she was going to be asked to the dance publicly. Even if she had been asked publicly before, it was different now. She really liked Atlas.
"You always look stunning so dont go pulling that BS on me." He told her, looking up at Oriana and his blush now very noticeable. "And I wont do anything too embarrassing for you." Atlas joked, knowing that he wasnt going to do much but he had to figure it out. And hopefully his mom would understand.
With one simple compliment her blush returned to full and she laughed lightly, nudging him with her knee, "As long as you don't shout out your words through a megaphone or do some dance routine to ask me, nothing will be embarrassing. That's not a challenge to beat by the way." Even though she knew she was now going to be asked, she was almost more excited for it than when she had a hunch she was going to be asked. Though that may have been heavily based on the fact that it was Atlas asking her.
"I'm not dancing to a routine. NEVER EVER." He chuckled, "I was thinking a simple sign and flowers. Not sure though." Atlas smiled again, excited that things might work out. "Anyways so lavender yes?" He had to confirm that was the correct color, his thoughts were a mess. All full of Oriana, her smiled, her looks, everything about her.
"A sign and flowers sounds good, and yes, lavender," She replied, nodding and letting her smile reappear at full, "I can send you a picture of my dress if you want an exact color." Oriana didn't know if he did want to match her, but she was completely for the idea. She was actually going to a school dance with her crush, for the first time in four years. And not only that, it was Atlas, the boy she had been crushing on for the entirety of high school.
"Yeah, you can do that. It probably be best if we matched exactly. I hate when people go and their two different shades of one color." He got a little bit artsy there, talking about shades of colors. "Hey O, can I ask you something? You dont have to tell me if you dont want to I just…I need to know." He looked at her, kinda seriously. "Throughout High School, did you ever like me? Like as in more than friends?" Atlas asked her, his hand fidgeting with his pencil, and his gaze on her. "You don't have to tell me, I'm just curious."
Oriana nodded in agreement. It didn't look right when people used two different shades of the same color, or at least it didn't look as put together. "Sure what's up?" She asked when he asked about a question, a soft smile on her face. At the mention of asking if she had liked him, her face flushed and she paused for a moment, answering in a softer tone than before, "I..uh…I did. I do." Quickly she glanced up at him, adding on, "I mean, if you're uncomfortable with it I totally understand. But yes…I had a crush on you since freshman year." Oriana's face was thoroughly flushed as she asked, "What about you?"
He laughed, "I thought it was obvious Oriana. I've liked you this whole time, all throughout high school." Atlas smiled again, "It was silly of me though, i thought. I always thought that I was stupid for liking someone like you, because were two completely different people. But I stuck with my feelings, even if you had someone else in your life." He thought back to the day that he began crushing on her, his face now red. "I tried to make my feelings for you obvious," Atlas looked at her, his leg bumping into hers on 'accident'. He let his leg stay there, wanting to see her reaction.
By the end of the confession, Oriana's face was beet red and she was trying hard to seem unaffected, though clearly she was relieved that he felt the same towards her. "Well, I'm fairly oblivious to most things," She jokingly replied, bumping his leg back and letting her's stay there as well. "You even liked me when we had gym together and I beat you?" A tiny smile crossed her face as she talked as well as soft laughter.
He laughed, "Oh hunny, I let you beat me. Plus you would always pout when we had the soccer lesson and I beat you." Atlas fixed his hair from resting in his eyes and looked at her, but for some reason, all the innocent thoughts he had about her flew out, and in came the sexual ones. Ahhh Shit not nowwwwwwwwww! He whined in his head, but soon enough the thoughts of her left his head. "I surprised you even liked me when I beat you in soccer lesson. I played pretty damn rough, surprised you didn't get hurt. Although you are pretty athletic." He looked at the clock, class not even close to being over. "You wanna go play a bit of soccer? Mr. Fona lets me leave class a lot, as long as he know that the assignments are done. I use this time to practice soccer, so maybe you wanna come play?" Atlas looked at Oriana, damn she very gorgeous.
"It's not my fault I can't beat a star soccer player, I always beat you in the other lessons," She protested, scowling playfully at him and pushing him gently, "I can play rough too Atlas, you weren't going to hurt me at all." Oriana was quite on board with the idea of soccer when Atlas brought it up, but she paused for a minute. Mr. Fona wasn't going to be happy with her if she once again skipped her assignment for the day and did it later. "Sure, but I'll come out a few minutes after you. Bathroom excuse. Otherwise, I'll be yelled at."
He rolled his eyes, "Don't take too long. Actually yeah, take as long as you want, gives me more time to warm up." Atlas looked at her, "Alright I'll meet you out on the field." He nodded at her and then got up and soon made his way to the field. Before he went to go warm up he went and put some shorts on and left his navy blue shirt be. Atlas then went to the field and began to look for a soccer ball. As he did, he began to talk to himself, "Holy shit, I can't believe that I just told her how I felt. And that I agreed to go to the dance, and somehow thought about asking her to go with me." He was going a million miles per hour, but soon enough he found a ball and began warming up.
(Oh shit I thought I replied to this I'm really sorry. I'll get a response up asap)
Oriana waved to him as he left and waited a few minutes before asking to use the bathroom. She immediately made a beeline towards the soccer fields, hastily pulling her hair up into a ponytail, and wishing she had gym in this set of classes. Sadly she didn't though, and so she was going to go play soccer in a pair of ripped jeans and a nice top, very much not soccer clothes. "Ready to lose?" She called to Apollo when she saw him on the field, a determined grin on her face.
"What makes you so confident it winning?" He smirked, his feet busy with the ball. He knew that he should go easy on her but her competitive nature made it hard to not match it. "First one to 3 goals wins?" Atlas asked her, let the ball stop moving. "And winner gets their choice of prize?" With that being said he would have to analyze her moves and figure out how to stop her, but Oriana was always unpredictable.
“I always win,” She jokingly replied, a grin on her face showing she didn’t believe it at all. Quickly, she nodded back, her grin growing, “Is there any rules about prize choice?” There was only a slim chance that she was going to win, especially in these clothes, but she was going to give it her all. As long as she could figure out Atlas’ tactics that was.
"No rules about prize choice. Anything." Atlas told her, passing her the ball. "You ready to get your ass whooped?" He actually had no idea if he could pull this off. But he was going to try. "Count down from three and then go?" Atlas fixed his hair and got positioned.
"Are you? I'm going to win," She replied cockily, nodding as she stepped to the right spot and tightened her ponytail for the last time. All she hoped now was that she wouldn't fall and ruin her clothes. They still had a whole day left of school after all. "Ready when you are."
"Alright. If you fall I got extra clothes in my locker." He knew how much Oriana cared about appearance but to himself he could careless on what he looked like. Atlas signaled to her that he was ready now that she had the ball, but this game was just all anticipation and some what tense. But even if he won he'd let Oriana get the prize, to be honest he didnt care about prizes, except for the state soccer trophy. But this was a friendly game so it didnt matter to Atlas.
"I'll try not to fall, I like this outfit," She replied, grinning at him as she started forward, "As long as the clothes don't stink though, It's an option." Oriana didn't start off easy, concentrating right from the get go. After all, she would have to play hard if she wanted to beat Atlas. He was statebound after all, and that meant he was going to be no easy opponent.
He matched her competition. At least practicing with Oriana gave him a bit more practice for playoffs. "I wash my own clothes thank you very much." He grinned, hoping that he wouldn't get hurt during this, but considering he warmed up it was a lesser chance of happening. "If you win what are you picking for your prize?" Atlas asked, staying close to her, watching her movements.
She just grinned in reply, thinking for a minute and using the silence to make another dart towards the goal and towards possibly scoring. "Hmmmm…that's a good question…probably something embarrassing for you, maybe I'll be nice though." Oriana's grin grew and she added in, getting used to being slightly out of breath from playing, "What about you? If you do win that is."
He matched her action with a defense one, but still staying close to her. "I'd still let you pick. I don't really care about a prize." Atlas told her, watching their distance from the goal. A little closer than what he'd like but he could work something out. "But if I wanted to choose it would probably be a date. I mean I've always wanted to ask you but this time if I win it would have to happen and I couldn't just push it off like I have been the last four years." He truthfully told her. Shut up if you let your inner boy side come out you'd want something from her. Fuck off, she's not an object. That mental conversation just messed him up and now he wasn't really on his game.
