Vē'Êtherñøth screeches. "Îchnen gøbén Hælde?"
Vē'Êtherñøth screeches. "Îchnen gøbén Hælde?"
Cayden shifts back momentarily to wave at her, then reverts to his shark form. "It's me!" His voice echoes oddly a bit.
Fathom, who apparently knows ASL, signs Safe! Fun! Play! Food! at Vē'Êtherñøth.
"Gûhíłden ødáćneñe ÿh žvûltsiel. . ." Vē'Êtherñøth mutters.
She signs back to the kraken, saying I know.
She looks back at Cayden. "Sorry for my Infernal. You startled me."
A very untranslatable Infernal curse. The gist is something along the lines of "Go fuck yourself".
"I do that a lot," Cayden frowns. "People are normally scared of things bigger than them, like me, which is ridiculous. An Irukandji can kill you faster than I can, and it's itty bitty!"
do you have an actual language, or do you just find random accents and stick them on top of random letters?
also how would you pronounce that, I haven't the slightest idea
Vē'Êtherñøth snorts. "I'd like to see one of those little gûłdfïēl try to kill me."
I have a full language for her and her race, lol. And you cna copy/paste into Google Translate. It can pronounce it better than I can type it, lol.
"Hm," Cayden says, and shifts back so he can shrug. "Not you, maybe. But lots of other people." He watches an octopus glide across the sandy floor for a moment, then shrugs again.
Fathom waves to the octopus and signs hello. The octopus, being rude and arrogant and suffering from a disease called Normal ANimal Syndrome, ignores her and continues his journey.
wow. i don't technically need to have words, since octopodes, squid, jellyfish, other cephalopods and siphonophores use a form of sign language that's incredibly hard for humans to learn, whales have their backflops and songs, and moray eels can morse code with their two pairs of jaws. i also can't picture sea creatures talking like cartoon animals.
I already did lol.
huh. one of my friends is learning Finnish. he's going in the summer. lucky sucker.
Vē'Êtherñøth chuckles. "The Rétÿłdâš are fiercer and smaller than them, anyways."
Yeah, but they have no religion. Obviously. And Vē'Êtherñøth isn't human, so yeah.
Cursed, no?
Lol, really? Cool.
"I know tinier guys, too," Cayden says flipping upside down and hanging there. "Grass piggies! They're not very nice though."
I can't tell if you're talking about Seafarers, humans or cartoon sea creatures lol
very
yup. he's taught me one word that I mostly forget. it either meant "thank you," "sorry" or "sausage"
also by "grass piggies," Cayden means moss piglets, water bears or tardigrades. microscopic little eight-legged vaguely bear-like sea creatures.
Vē'Êtherñøth laughs. "Grass piggies? They make excellent bacon."
Take your pick, lol.
Lol, imagine forgetting the word "sausage" in Finnish. I would be saying that all the time.
Oh, well those little shits can survive literally anything. Besides maybe Cthulu himself, lol.
"You need a lot for a lunch," Cayden says. "Many colonies. But yep!" He flips right-side-up and sits on Fathom's head.
Denny knows it in german. as well as other phrases like "let's go to the hospital!" and "I like giraffes," "slinkies are fun" and "I don't want peas"
Vē'Êtherñøth grins. "Not if you can go smaller or larger at will."
To prove her point, she shrinks to a size smaller than a grass piggie, then grows again.
Really? Never would have guessed, lol.
Cayden claps. "You can go bigger? Then why don't you go big big like me!" He shifts back to his megalodon form. "If you're small, people can step on you! And that's not fun."
A weird combination of having been there and knowing some random words and phrases, as well as quick check with Denny one sec a kid in her class who gets up at lunch and teaches the class random phrases in random languages. she knows an insane amount of random stuff and has been an insane amount of places.
and I haven't even been offworld out of Canada
Vē'Êtherñøth shrugs. "I like being small."
Lol, of course Denny. . . nevermind. Just, she's always been a little eccentric, but I love her lots. And she obviously hasn't changed, lol.
"Have you ever been stepped on?" Cayden taps a down beat on Fathom's head. She doesn't seem to mind.
eccentric
if half of what she says is true, her cousins are way more so and should come on this site.
I want to swim with whale sharks on Christmas Eve now
"Yeah, but it didn't end well for the person stepping on me. Let's just say they're. . . under pressure." Vē'Êtherñøth chuckles.
"We're under pressure!" Cayden grins. "Four miles of it sitting on top of our skulls. Or" he taps Fathom's head, "on top of our nerve systems."
Vē'Êtherñøth grins. "Nope. No pressure down here for me. This feels like. . . Earth, to me."
"Then you have a nice thick skull," Cayden says. "Like a iceberg! You have an iceberg skull! 'Cept not col. Probably. Is your skull cold?"
Vē'Êtherñøth looks offended. "'Cool'? My skull is not 'cool'. It is hot, you cretin!"
"Like a volcano, then!" Cayden shrugs. "No. Wait. Volcanoes blow up. A volcano without the blowing up."
Vē'Êtherñøth snorts. "Try hot like a black hole is hot. It'll burn each and every single individual atom of your nervous system."
"Oooh," Cayden says, apparently unfazed. "Like frying bacon grass piggies?"
"I can, yes." Vē'Êtherñøth chuckles. To prove her point, she accidentally vaporizes a nearby colony.
"And also, I can kill them." she adds.
"Kill the piggies? Of course. You can't fry them without killing them," Cayden says, picking up a fried moss piglet and dropping it in his mouth.
"Well, yeah, but I mean 'kill' as in 'remove from reality'." Vē'Êtherñøth chuckles.
"I am an old demon, after all." she adds.
