"Blood Night..?" This was getting weirder and weirder. "But I've got places to be-" He matched his speed with her so he didn't fall behind. "And other people?" He asked. "What about them?"
"Blood Night..?" This was getting weirder and weirder. "But I've got places to be-" He matched his speed with her so he didn't fall behind. "And other people?" He asked. "What about them?"
"Blood Night. I'm immune to it, but I don't know about you. Many of the other tribes ingest a plant which gives them a sickness. When the moon turns red, they lose all common sense and turn against each other. The island is the safest place since those people generally can't swim well and they stay on mainland." At his question, she looks at him curiously, but also like she's mocking his lack of knowledge on 'common subjects.'
"There's a lot of other tribes, but most aren't friendly. Some of them come to the island and make truces with each other, but for exiles like myself they generally don't make expectations."
“Well, I haven’t eaten any plants and I hope to keep it that way.” He quickly stated. He wasn’t sure he was even in the same universe anymore. He’d heard of the multiverse theory stuff, but never believed in it..
Yakov took a moment before asking a question. “We will be hiding on the island then?”
“You mean, strange plants? If you plan on surviving here, you will be eating some sort of plant..” she drifted off.
They began to arrive at the rocky/sandy shores of the lake. “Yes, a good assumption.” She scanned the clearing, for intruders, but also for something..
She spotted a lump covered by leaves and grasses and sand, and darted towards it.
"Yeah, I just meant the plants that cause whatever sickness you're talking about." He pauses when she suddenly runs off, and looks over in the direction of where she's going. There seems to be something underground..
He doesn't run, just slowly walks over.
Tahki arrives. She begins to dig. It doesn't take much before she begins to..extremely slowly, uncover something metal hidden in the ground.
Yazov walks a bit closer, examining what she's digging up. He spots the metal object, and wonders if it's something to help them with..
He glances outwards to the lake. Crossing that.
"What is that?" He asks.
Tahki pauses, her fingers coated in sand and dirt. "A boat." With that said, she goes back to digging.
He stands and watches for a few more seconds before he lowers himself to the ground, deciding to assist. This would all go faster if they worked together. Hopefully before that blood night, or whatever she had said to him before.
Tahki continues to dig, only slightly pausing when he comes near. She shovels dirt off into the side, in a pile. It’s quite clear to people in the future coming by here that someone was here, so she’d need a new spot to hide her boat. But it was a price to pay for being safe from drug induced cannibals; which was, quite frankly what the cannibals were.
Yazov looks up slightly. “So, why are you letting me come with you?” He asks, as he continues to look down again and dig.
Tahki digs some more. She doesn't look up.
"You have some stuff on you that seems to hold value to someone of my situation. And besides," her voice lowered. "Survival is a bit easier in a group of people."
“So I’m just a means of value to you?” He whispered, voice also going low. He wasn’t really offended, to be fair. It was more of a question if anything.
“Yes.” She answers, straightforwardly. She’s unsure what type of answer he wanted. Did he want her to sympathize? She would never.
“You are also like a child,” she says, not looking up quite yet. “You do foolish things and act before thinking. I’m going to keep you out of trouble until I can get out out of the Ring.”
He pauses. “A…child?”
“No,” Yazov finally speaks after a moment. “I’m far from being one.”
She stands up and begins to get ready to start to move the boat. At his statement, she looks at him. Well. This stranger was dressed like no other person she’s met before. He acted weirdly. To her, at least.
“Yes. That may be true, I suppose.” She clicks her tongue. “but I haven’t known you that long, so I wouldn’t know.”
He stands up shortly after her. Agreeing with her, he nods. “Same applies to you.”
“Yes, that’s true. Again.” She continues to prepare the boat. It’s hard work, but she’s a woman that runs around the innards of the Ring all day long. She can handle this..mostly.
He helps her move the boat, but he remains silent. Yazov avoids eye contact, though it could be because he’s more focused on looking at his work.
She pulls the boat to the shore, looking out to the island in the middle of the lake. The sun beats down upon them, and she knows it’ll be hot on the water. The island should provide some shelter, though. She prepares to get into the boat.
Yazov stands up and waits for her to get onto the boat. He looks at the sky inquisitively.
Tahki glances at Yazov, wondering what he's doing. She steps into the boat, motioning him to get on. "Come. It'll be about 15 minutes before we get to the island. We must not waste our time."
(Wish I had a meme for all of your roleplays I'm responding to right now)
Yazov steps onto the boat and sits down, unsure of what to say. He feels a little weird without his weapon. His main weapon, anyways. He looks at Tahki, then speaks.
"So..what happened out here..? The history of this place, I mean.." He decided the best thing was to learn more information.
Tahki grabbed the paddle at the bottom of the boat and began to move it. "Why do you want to know," she said without looking up.
