Heyy! I'm doing a one on one! This one is partially inspired by something my aunt told me when I was younger(you can wish on eyelashes!! She said this so she could grab them so I didn't keep getting eyelashes in my eyes) that I still believe in to this day! With a spin! OoOoOoO~!

The gist of it is that my character makes 10,000 eyelash wishes–which can come true as long as they're realistic, so no infinite money or something like that lmao–and is granted one impossible wish. He wishes your character into existence as a guardian but a romance blooms.

Your character can be any gender identity as long as they are around the same age as my character(don't want things to get all weird). None of that "I look like a child bUT ACTUALLY I'M A THOUSAND YEAR OLD IMMORTAL BEAST" shit. Your character will probably have some magic traits that help them with their "duties" though, since they were wished into existence through magic anyway. Or not, whatever floats your boat.

So! Without further ado, here's my boy!

Name: Gavin Ennings
Age: 15
Gender: M
Sexuality: Pan
Appearance: Gavin has light ginger hair that spikes up in the front and green eyes. Freckles are scattered across his cheeks and nose. His skin is just the slightest bit tanned and he's fairly tall, standing at 6"2. However, he's on the skinnier side. He typically wears a tee-shirt or sweatshirt and jeans and almost always wears a blue denim jacket with brown fuzz on the inside and black tennis shoes.
Personality: Gavin is quiet and shy but is a kindhearted person. He tends to shy away from physical contact unless he knows and trusts the person. He's trusting yet anxious. Gavin dislikes conflict and avoids it whenever he can. He's outdoorsy too, and is happiest when in a forest away from everything. People who know him might describe him as gullible and a little childish.
Hobbies: Reading, hiking, tree-climbing
Talents: Gavin is a fast runner and is rather observant. He's also a good cook.
Backstory: Gavin's mother died in childbirth and his father killed himself out of grief soon after, so Gavin lived with his grandma from a very young age. They were obviously very close, but when Gavin was eight she passed away. He was sent into foster care and ended up with an abusive family.
Other: Gavin has a sweet tooth and loves ice cream.

Hey, whenever you get back on, let me know if timezones are gonna be a problem. I'm on Eastern Standard Time so your post was at around 9 AM for me, just so you have an idea of where we are relative to each other.

@ElderGod-Carrots

(I’m in ACDT so when I posted my first reply it was around 10 pm for me. I’m usually on for the next twelve hours and sometimes later at night but I have work this afternoon so I won’t be on there. Also here is my character, hope he’s okay :) )

Name: Elijah ‘Eli’ Morris
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bi-sexual
Appearance: Eli has soft, fluffy light brown hair that falls across his face. He stands around 6’2 and is fairly well built. Tanned skin, generally a good looking bloke. He has bright blue eyes that sometimes look green depending on the light. Strong jawline, definitely has a six pack. Has quite a few scars across his body, too.
Personality: Elijah tends to be a very closed off person, not talking unless it’s necessary or on the very rare occasion he wants to. Deep down he is very kind and caring, over protective to a fault. Comes off as aggressive and unapproachable at times but tries to be somewhat relaxed. Loves a good fight.
Magic: Has control over shadows and darkness, can manipulate them to whatever he wants. Doesn’t use it too much as it is fairly draining if he uses it all the time.
Likes: A fight, having his hair played with, big dogs
Dislikes: Utter silence, fire, the colour yellow
Backstory: N/A

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

(He's great! Question though, when Gavin makes his wish do you want Eli to just kind of "poof" into existence or have him spontaneously move in next door or something else? It doesn't really matter to me either way, I just wanted to make sure I didn't do it differently if you had something specific in mind)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Lol, I don’t really mind, I think if he moved in next door just like ‘hey how’s it going I’m here to protect you now I’m next door if you need me’ would be funny but again, I don’t mind either)

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

(To be honest I kind of wanted to do that too so hERE WE GO)

Gavin was sitting in a tree again.

This wasn't unusual, especially tonight. He liked Sunday nights best. Things were quieter then, and they made for perfect nights to look up at the stars or, if you got out soon enough, read by the light of the setting sun. Gavin had, in fact, gotten out soon enough. The orange rays filtered through the leaves of the oak tree he was sitting in and for the first time that day, the teenager was at peace.

Something caught his eye on the page, and it wasn't a word. A small curve of nearly transparent ginger hair cast a tiny shadow onto the paper. Ah, an eyelash, Gavin thought, picking it off the page gently, better make a wish. He closed his eyes, made his wish–that things would be calm for the next few days–and blew the lash away with a gentle puff of breath.

When he opened his eyes again, he almost fell out of the tree. Fluttering in the air before him was a girl no larger than a toddler. Brown-tinted wings held her aloft through some monstrous breaking of physics, and she wore a brown vest over a white dress shirt, a brown skirt, high black socks, and brown flats. Her flyaway brown hair framed an angular, darkish face with chocolate brown eyes. A black tie, not tucked into the vest, fluttered gently in the breeze. "Hello!" the fairy–she was a fairy, right?–said brightly. "Congrats on 10,000 wishes! You've been at this a while, huh?"

Gavin blinked and recovered from his shock. "I, uh…yeah, you could say that," he replied. "Um, no offense, but what…are you?" he asked as politely as he could. The fairy giggled.

"Oh yeah, I forgot most humans don't know. I'm a wish fairy! Specifically for eyelash wishes. We take care of any wish on eyelashes," she explained. "You can call me Lori!"

"O-okay…?"

"Anyway! Gavin Ennings, I'm here to grant you one wish that would otherwise be impossible to achieve!" Lori exclaimed, placing her hands on her hips proudly. "You can wish for almost anything."

"Almost…?" Gavin wondered.

Lori nodded. "Almost. If it's, like, immoral or something, I can veto it. But as long as it's not, your wish is my command," she said with a dramatic, sweeping bow.

Gavin thought about what he was being offered. Anything…A friend, a car, somewhere less volatile to stay…Possibilities danced in his mind. After a long moment's thought, he decided. "My wish is for someone to protect me. From…well, from whatever they can. That's it," he said, looking Lori in the eyes. "That's not too much, is it?"

"Not at all!" Lori replied. She pulled something that looked like a wand out of her vest pocket and waved it in the air a few times. A ding not unlike a timer sounded and Lori looked back at Gavin with a smile. "It's done! Your bodyguard should be arriving riiight about…" A truck pulled into the house next door with an orange stripe and "U-HAUL" printed in black on it. "Now! That should be him!"

Gavin's eyes widened. "You're kidding, right? Now?!" He scrambled to shove his bookmark back into his book and climb back into his bedroom through the window. Lori followed him in and he shut the window once she was inside. "Ohhh jeez, he saw me in a tree, he probably thinks I'm some kind of weirdo. Crap, what if he thinks I was stalking him?!" He put his head in his hands and flopped down on his bed.

Lori patted him on the shoulder. "Things'll work out," she said. When Gavin looked up to tell her that no, things probably wouldn't work out, that his new protector would probably hate him, she was gone.

After taking a few moments to himself, Gavin decided that the best thing would be to get to bed. Maybe this would be some weird dream and he'd wake up from it? One crazy wish short, but you win some, you lose some, right?

The next morning, Gavin started his daily routine: shower, get dressed, do all that normal hygiene stuff, then grab a breakfast bar and get out of the house early before anyone else in the house woke up. Everything went perfectly, but when he looked into the driveway next door, there was that truck. Gavin tensed for a second, then shook his head out. You'll meet him when you meet him, right? Hell, the guy's probably still asleep. Maybe. He decided to continue to his bus stop at the end of the road. Once he got there, he pulled out his book–I Am Princess X by Cherie Priest, an underrated masterpiece–set down his bag on the dewy grass, sat down and got to reading as he waited for the bus.

(Sorry that was so long, I just wanted to set stuff up!)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(All good :) )

Elijah well… Needless to say it wasn’t exactly the first time he’d been called to do some protecting. It was what he was good at, anyways. He’d pulled into the house next door and unloaded most of the night. However, he was up and ready to go out as soon as he heard Gavin leave.

It was his job to protect him, that meant he had to accompany to and from school, a notion he hated but oh well, it was his job. He made it to the bus stop not long after, slipping his hands into his jean pocket after he’d ruffled his hair slightly.

“Gavin?”

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

(Gonna post this then head to bed, see ya!)

Gavin looked up to see who had said his name. "Oh, uh…hi," he said, marking his page and getting up. "Are you my, um…you just moved in, right?" he said. Saying 'Are you my bodyguard?' just didn't feel right. It kind of felt…rude? Gavin wasn't sure, and he mentally kicked himself for this awkwardness. "What's your name?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Night!)

“Elijah.” He replied. He’d never been good with social situations, he was more of a, ‘I stand there and protect.’ Kind of guy. He looked down the street then back to Gavin, “I’m your bodyguard.” He gave a sort of half bow, “And yes, I did just move in next door.”

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

"Ah. Nice to meet you," Gavin said, and an awkward beat of silence passed. "So…where are you from?" he asked after a moment. Surely Elijah hadn't just poofed into existence right then, right?

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Ah, that's a complicated question. I'm not entirely sure, really. I don't remember where I'm from. All I remember is the people I've protected before hand." Elijah shrugged a shoulder, "But to answer I don't know where I'm from."
