The boy smiled shyly, coming a little closer to Gravity.
The boy smiled shyly, coming a little closer to Gravity.
Gravity paused at the other's, she had decided to mentally call him Joshua, eyes glowing even brighter. She stepped closer, looking up into his eyes a little curiously, her fingers close to his face.
Without thinking, his fingertips came up and delicately traced along the female's face.
Gravity's eyes fluttered shut at the soft touch. No-one had been so gentle with her in a long time. She unconsciously leaned her cheek into his hand.
Joshua's eyes flitted towards Gravity's lips as he suddenly realized he was leaning in, nearly inches from the girl. His face flushed a little and his eyebrows quirked in confusion. What was this.. feeling?
Gravity's eyes fluttered open, and her pupils dilated in shock that he was so close. Her breathing stopped.
He pulled back abruptly, nervously adjusting the metal collar of his space suit.
"I-.. Y-Yrros…"
Suddenly his eyes lit up with an idea, and he dropped into a crouch to write in the dirt.
Gravity stumbled back at the sudden movement, then slowly crouched down as well in curiosity.
Joshua was writing out the alphabet, which seemed to look similar to the English alphabet. He then wrote the word "Yrros" backwards.
Gravity's eyes lit up, and her breath caught with excitement. "SORRY! That's what you're trying to say!" Her face beamed at him.
He broke into joyous laughter, quickly wrapping his arms around her.
"Yes!"
Gravity's eyes widened at not the hug, but the fact he just naturally said a word in English. But she liked the hug, and subconsciously snuggled closer into it.
His laughter softened as his body naturally seemed to mold to Gravity's. He felt.. comfortable, strangely.
Gravity sighed softly, enjoying this feeling she was having, her head drooping to rest in the crook of Joshua's neck.
Josh realized what he was doing, but didn't pull away this time. He was all too aware of Gravity's breath on his gills.
Gravity sighed a bit and squeezed the alien before letting go and leaning back. She looked up at the starry sky before yawning, her eyelids drooping. She stumbled to her feet, rubbing her eyes. Night had fallen while she was out there, and she probably should get back to her house to lock up. She stretched a hand out to help Joshua up. "C'mon." She said, jerking her head a bit to indicate they needed to move.
Josh moved forward, gently grasping the girl's hand.
"Ereh-.. Wh..ere we.. go?"
Gravity's eyebrows shot up in amazement that the other figured out how to translate so fast. She just pointed and tried herself. "Ym… Esouh….?" She bit her lip, hoping she did it right.
"Oh!"
His eyes lit up in understanding. The alien nodded, matching Gravity's pace.
Gravity smiled happily. She quickly guided him through the forest, lithely weaving through the trees and brush. It was obvious she was comfortable in the outdoors.
Joshua's eyes flitted rapidly to and fro, taking in his surroundings on this foreign planet. It was.. beautiful, somehow.
Gravity let go of Josh's hand for a moment to swing herself on a few branches, the moonlight causing her dark hair to look almost silver.
