“Until the next time,” Eugene said, admiring Alexis from afar. He was so tall -he must be a foot taller than Eugene- and handsome. Eugene just couldn’t help himself, ever since the first day he kidnapped the princess in attempt to hold her hostage for some gold. He had needed some extra coins to make it by, but when he saw Princess Ann’s knight he had completely forgotten about needing coins.
"Can it at least be Friday?" He asked as he climbed down the ladder, hopping to the ground and getting on the horse, Ann hurumping as they set off.
(Yo, I had an idea. What if Eugene saw the necklace and wanted to return it, and have an exuse to see Alexis, so he just goes to the castle?)

After Eugene had watched Alexis leave, he laid back down on his bed with the hint of a blush still on his cheeks. He called me pretty… “Alexis is just so dashing, how can I resist?” Eugene mumbled to himself happily. In truth, he didn’t think Alexis had any feelings for him whatsoever, but Eugene like to fantasize. He glanced at his grimoire before looking back to where Alexis had been frozen. I’ve definitely been getting better. He eyes trailed to the floor, but something caught his attention. A locket was sitting on the floor. Eugene sat up straight before quickly scrambling to the necklace. He picked it up and ran to the window, but Alexis and the princess were already gone. He sighed, “Well might as well see what it is, I can give it back to him Friday maybe or-“ Eugene bit his lip when he saw the picture of a beautiful woman. “Oh,” Eugene mumbled, closing the locket. What had he expected, for Alexis -being as handsome as he is- to not already have someone in his life? Eugene set the locket on the windowsill. It was getting late, so Eugene would bring it to the castle for Alexis and return it. He sat down on the bed, closing his eyes even though he didn’t feel tired.

Eugene walked into town with a long cloak, hoping it covered his features well enough so the citizens couldn’t identify him. Eugene would normal turn himself invisible to sneak into town, but he forgot the spell for that. He shook his head at himself, he looked like a mess. He was wearing mismatching shoes—he usually never left his tower. It was hard enough to get out of it, Eugene nearly fell when he botched his levitating spell. He approached the castle outer edge of the castle, looking out towards the training fields in hopes of spotting Alexis.
Alexis was sparring with another guard, shirt long since discarded in the summer heat. "Hah! I win again." He teased the younger guard, both going over to the well to get a drink. Alexis cupped the water in his hands and downed if, sighing. "That hits the spot."
Eugene snuck over to the training grounds to get a better look to see if he could spot Alexis, knowing very well he was treading in dangerous territory. He was lucky that Alexis never tried to truly hurt him, but Eugene didn’t know about the other people at the training grounds. His eyes scanned the area, until they locked on the a very much shirtless Alexis. His face turned beet red and his heart fluttered but he pushed that feeling away. No more of that. Eugene quickly speed-walked over to Alexis, quietly calling out once he got close enough, “Alexis!”
Alexis sighed and walked over. "Yes? It's rare to see you out of the tower. Did you finally decide to get a life?" He asked with an eyebrow raise, giving a hand signal to the other guards that the idiot was alright to be there.
Eugene frowned, “I came here to drop off the necklace of your girlfriend,” He explained, his voice a little bit icy. He grabbed the locket from his pocket holding it out for Alexis to take.
"Pft, my girlfriend? That is disgusting. It's my little sister." He smiled, he looked much more comfortable here than he did when in the tower. "Thank you though."
Eugene’s jaw dropped, “I- I- She’s not your girlfriend?” Hope sparked in his chest, but he quickly shut it down, “Wait- do you have a significant other?” He asked suspiciously, narrowing his eyes a little.
"No, there's barely time to eat when you're a guard. Though that doesn't really stop any of them." Alexis laughed, his chuckle was deep but sweet. "Most of them have wives or husbands, though Greta does have a wonderfull partner."
Eugene’s hope-filled heart took off, and his eyes immediately trailed over Alexis’ bare chest. “How on earth are you not with someone? I simply can’t believe I’m the only one pining after you.”
"I-Uh-… What?" Alexis' eyes were wide and his face was bright red. "Is that why you keep kidnapping the princess?"
“Could you not tell?” Eugene raised his eyebrows. Alexis had to be fooling him. “I’ve been trying to flirt with you nearly every time I see you,” He pointed out, folding his arms over his chest, “No wonder why you don’t have a partner by now.”
"I'm oblivious, I don't know things!" Alexis groanedw, looking up at the sky like it had cursed him to die in tow minutes, actually, he'd prefer it.
Eugene let out a little laugh, “Well I forgive you for it,” He smiled coyly before adding on, “Although, I would forgive you even more if you spent a few hours with me.” Like a date. Only in Eugene’s wildest fantasies did he ever entertain the idea of going on a date with Alexis.
"You know what, fuck it. Sure."

Eugene stared at him, wide eyed. Out of all the things Alexis could have said, that was the thing he least expected. “I… Yay!” He wrapped his arms around Alexis in a tight hug — Alexis was so warm. “Thank you,” He said excitedly, unable to contain his smile.
When he was hugged, Alexis realized his chest was bare so the giant blush came back. "I… Uh… I'm going to go put a shirt on." He stuttered out, looking more embarrassed than a tomato without skin on. "I'll see you later, Eugene." It was the first time he had actually called the scorccer his given name.
Eugene smiled as he took a step back, “Yeah, you know where to find me. Just let me know when you have some time off,” He gave a little shy wave before turning around and walking away with the biggest smile he had in a while. Eugene could barely contain his excitement as he walked back through town.
Alexis walked back to the well slowly, still processing. "What just happened?" One of the knights asked with an eyebrow raised. "I… I think I just got a date with a supposedly evil sorcerer." He whispered in a shocked tone, the other knight laughing and handing him the shirt from earlier.
Eugene was so happy, he even shifted his cloak’s hood so he could get a little sunshine on his pale face. That was his biggest mistake, because as he neared the edge of town- “Hey! It’s that sorcerer!” A deep voice yelled, and Eugene whipped his head around. A man recognized him. Before Eugene knew it, heads were turning his way. His smile quickly disappeared, and he ran for it, knowing a few guards would be on his tail soon. He lost a shoe as he sprinted, and after a while he made it back to his tower safely. Thankfully the guards had let up once he got out of the town.
Eugene sighed, leaning up against the bricks to his tower, pulling up his sleeve. He had written down the name of the spell in ink on his arm, just so he wouldn’t forget it. “Volant,” He whispered, and slowly his feet lifted of the ground and he made it in his tower. By the time Eugene got in, he was exhausted so he quickly landed on his bed. Today was… wow. I can’t believe I scored a date with Alexis. Eugene thought, closing his eyes. He was just so happy.
