(Haisley looks great! Feel free to make more characters if you'd like )
(okay :3)
(me personally, i find it easiest to manage just one character, and cool cool, i'll go ahead and do some quick editing on Darya rq)
You could even give her like the ability to see in the future, things like that see between the "folds." A lot of Sirens are gifted bc of how old they are. But just make sure it's not too OP!
yeah thats what i did !
Perfect! Also Siren's are primarily from Greek culture, so I was thinking they could be located near Scylla and feel free to add any info about god's and more if that's something you're interested in.
(My siren character's! I believe I'll have a mermaid character up later)
Name: Delphi Aetós
Gender: Female
Species: Siren
Sexuality: Pansexual
Age: Appears to be around 19 years, but is much closer to a few centuries.
Appearance: Her features are slim and startling, with a small, squared jaw, high cheekbones and full, wide lips. Her nose is rather wide and odd for her features, as if she had some sort of african or middle eastern background. She seems to always have her lips pulled into a deep frown or snarky half smile. Delphi’s eyes are wide and upturned, fading to an eerie murky white tone, framed by thick grey lashes. They are weak in the daylight, so she rarely goes up to the surface unless it is nighttime. Her white hair resembles a color that is almost faded, light grey, falling around her head in a coiled halo. The strands look messy, pointed every which way, a layer of brilliantly glowing frizz adding to the space it takes up. Her build is also quite small, her collarbone prominent, joints nobby and shoulders rounded. Her skin resembles a tone somewhat similar to a deep, murky green-blue, though she imagines it would be a more light, grey-blue in the daylight. Her tail matches this tone, only a few shades darker. It is covered in deep, ridged scales, the end a few plumed feathers. Wears a few heavy silver bangles her brother had once found off of the coast.
Personality: A generally reserved person around others, does not like to make small talk oftenly. She isn’t quiet in a calm way, but instead resembles something more eerie and snappish. When she is close to someone she is brash and blunt with her careful wording and enjoys making loudly opinionated statements. Her temper can be short and quick, especially when she cannot grasp a concept. She is oftenly in a sour mood and usually has a reserved appearance on her features, disabling others from advancing. Little to no people have had her open up. She rarely trusts anyone, much less men, and enjoys sticking to what she knows. Fiercely protective of her brother.
Likes: The sound water makes when it laps against the rocks near her home, the breeze at nighttime when she goes up to the surface, the small, unruly cove near the Sirens, singing (not just to drown), the sound of human music.
Dislikes: Men, especially humans, promises, daylight, trade ships.
Backstory: Delphi had a very difficult life leading up to her human death. Both her and her brother’s family had been rather poor growing up, so both had learned to help in the stocks surrounding her province’s trade docks. It had been almost a few centuries ago, perhaps a time around the early beginning of the the Roman Empire. Once in a while, she would be taken upon the boat in order to help load packages, and could even be taken on these passages across the cape. She had always been a headstrong person, not taking no for an answer, even when her brother despised going on the trade journey’s…especially the way the men tried to fondle Delphi oftenly. One day, on one of these boats, the crew had met a disastrous tempest in the Western Sea, between Scylla and Aeaea. A large belief among men of this time was that when a tempest approached, women were a terrible omen, and the God’s demanded a sacrifice. Delphi and her brother put up a tremendous fight, yet it was impossible to coax themselves out. Both were thrown overboard into the water, ending Delphi’s young love for the water and beginning her despise of men.
Other (abilities, etc): Her home is located by Syclla, a coast off of Greece where most Sirens dwell. She hasn’t unlocked any abilities yet, but prays towards Persephone for guidance most oftenly.
Name: Castor Aetós
Gender: Male
Species: Siren
Sexuality: Bisexual (leans heavily towards men)
Age: Appears to be around 22, but is around a couple centuries of age.
Appearance: Also has a quite chiseled face, his cheekbones prominent with a rounded face shape, and a slim nose that widens drastically at the end. His features are much softer, with round, almond shaped eyes, reflecting a murky, white color. His lips are full but small, pulled into soft smiles or a reserved frown. The locks on his head fall in much looser curls, but have grown out quite a lot, falling across his gaze, but a brilliant, white halo as it floats in the water. Both he and his sister have much more lanky, petite builds, his chest lacking much definition, knobby shoulders, long fingers, some of his bones much more prominent. His skin tone is a murky, light blue, yet carries many large white splotches (almost like vitiligo) These markings are found near his eye, one on his jawline, a few, faint splatters across cheeks, but the larger ones are strone across his collarbone, chest and back. Castor’s tail is slim and a dark grey, resembling something similar to a shark, with the same, light splatterings. He lacks feathers like most of his counterparts. Across his neck and wrists can be found leather bound, crystal necklaces that he has found near shipwrecks and Circe’s island, some beautiful aquamarine tones.
Personality: Quite, quite different from his sister and the rest of the Siren’s. He’s quiet and prefers to be outcasted from the others, a reserved look to him. He is soft spoken by nature, a dreamer and often finds himself lost in his thoughts. Castor does not enjoy making a scene, but is willing to stand up for himself. He trusts people much more easily than his sister, believes strongly in karma, but it renders him a bit naive. When around his Siren counterparts, Castor opts for being seen as quiet and unfeeling, rather than more of an emotional person. His past did not break him as much as it did his sister, yet deep inside him shares a blistering hatred for what the sailors had done to them, especially her.
Likes: Compared to his sister, he can go up to the surface during the day and prefers to explore nearby areas, especially the island coves. He is rarely at home. He loves sweet pies and fruits, much of which he used to eat as a human, crystals, bright colors, makeup, his sister’s hair and the way she sings, prayers.
Dislikes: Does not enjoy to partake in the drownings of sailors, yet he tries to remind himself of what had happened to him, loud noises, storms.
Backstory: Very similar to Delphi and along the same lines. He’s had to work very hard his human life and did not get to experience much. He had experienced his first love with a boy named Aeneas, but was quickly separated when his parents had found out (being gay was prominent during his lifetime, but not completely accepted.)
Other (abilities, etc): Has not accessed too many abilities yet, faint telepathy with Delphi though she is rarely aware of it. Very good at healing.
(Hey could I maybe join? I'm not super super active but this looks really neat)
(i love them)
(Hey could I maybe join? I'm not super super active but this looks really neat)
Sure!!
(thanks!)
Hey, may I join this possibly? I know I'm a bit new to the notebook roleplaying scene but this seems like it would be fun!
(Of course! I'm all for writers trying to get the feel for things. I might actually close this now so we don't have too many characters going on.)
(Here's my mermaid character she's literallythecutestthingever i love her)
Name: Pandora “Pan” Vero
Gender: Female
Species: Mermaid
Sexuality: Pansexual (very open to anything and everything)
Age: Looks to be around seventeen, less than a century old in reality but still very young for a mermaid.
Appearance: Compared to the other saltwater mermaids, Pandora opts for a shorter hair style, a blunt cut ending above her shoulders. The sides of her hair are much shorter, like grown out bangs that frame her soft face with their deep auburn color. She has careful features, ones that cradle one another. Her face is much rounder, with a soft jawline and full cheeks, a slim, built nose, a thin upper lip with a much more pouty bottom one. Her expressions are not harsh, but instead fall into soft smiles and looks. Her front teeth carry a small gap, though she barely enjoys showing it. Pandora’s eyes are doe eyed, an odd, faded lilac tone, her lashes thin. Her brows are rounded and more sparse, closer to her eyes and not leaving much lid space. Like the rest of her mermaid counterparts, Pandora’s skin is a pale, mint green tone, hugging her body. Her upper body compromises of a short torso, and wide, pear shaped hips that carry most of her weight. Her arms, chest and collarbone are covered in darker green splotches, almost resembling lots of freckles, some making their way upon her cheeks. She even has a few small, new markings, little symbols she had allowed her friend to tattoo on her (though it had hurt so terribly) Her tail is that of a koi fish, or at least resembling one, primarily white with large brown splotches.
Personalty: A word often used to describe Pandora would simply be soft. She likes to observe the world around her and can often time seem as if she is lost in her thoughts, sometimes rendering her to appear as an airhead. She is gentle with the ones around her and usually much quieter until she opens up. She forgives easily, and falls in love even easier, very, very romantic. (she’s almost fallen in love with every single sailor she’s laid her eyes on) At times she can be quite naive and make simple mistakes and decisions. Easy to sway, does not have much of her own grounding.
Backstory: Pandora had been an extremely sick child growing up, and her family often times could not provide much for her. She wasn’t naive to the point that she thought she was going to heal completely, and was aware and forgiving of the fact that she would not live for much longer. Her childhood and human life was cut extremely short, most of her memories fond of the ocean.
Likes: Sweet meats and candies, wrapping paper, the taste of honeysuckle flowers, the river (though she has not been since she passed away), letters, classic romance stories, songs and the sound of harps, sailors and humans, jewelry and paint.
Dislikes: Loud noises, those that voice their opinions to much, violence, waking up too early, cold currents.
(Beautiful)
(woah thats amazing i love her)
Name: Ambrose (no known last name)
Gender: Cis man, he/him
Species: Siren
Sexuality: Aromantic bisexual
Age: Looks 18, in reality he doesn’t know how old he actually is due to some things I’ll explain later.
Appearance: Ambrose has long, curly, wavy dark hair like wiry seaweed. It is matted in several places and the rest of him is just as messy, featuring long white scars spiderwebbing all over his body, sharp teeth like needles, and a rough scowl. His face is handsome, though, as it was in his previous life. His skin is freckled with dark black spots and the rest of his skin tone is of a navy blue. Ambrose is taller than most sirens, with the slimy dark green (almost black, it shimmers) tail of an eel that allows him to dart through the water at incredible speeds.
Personality: Ambrose is grudging, closed off. He doesn’t care much for the other sirens, and is envious of the joy of mermaids, something he knows he will never possess. His anger is motivated by a deep emptiness, a sadness he can’t rid himself of.
Likes: Ambrose enjoys very few things, but he does like the company of smaller sea creatures and finds that talking to them brings him very close to happiness, closer than he would normally be at least.
Dislikes: Almost everything, from other sirens to mermaids to humans to even the gods for cursing him like this. He won’t outright complain for fear of being smited but he does hold a lot of negative feelings.
Backstory: Ambrose was the son of a poor fisherman who the gods took pity on. They blessed him with powers of healing the sick and seeing far, far enough he could see into the future. He earned money for his family by selling his prophecies and healing the sick. He told many prophecies, all of which came true. However, when a rich nobleman was visiting near his home, he insisted his fortune be taken. Ambrose told a fortune of misfortune, and the nobleman had him dragged to the ocean to die. It was stormy out, and just as Ambrose hit the water, lightning hit him. He woke up and spent gods only know how long alone in the open water, when he begged the gods to remove his awful memories of what had happened to him. Instead, they removed all of his memories, and left Ambrose out there confused and alone, barely remembering how to speak. They left him with the things he’d need to survive, but not much else. He went on a quest to return him memories to no avail, and now lives life as a hermit, freely giving prophecies to those brave enough to face him.
Other (abilities, etc): Very reliable powers of prophecy, healing powers (up to a certain point), can talk to and understand animals with connections to the sea (this ties into the prophetic powers). He’s half-blind and relies mainly on his sense of smell to guide him around to find food and other people, as well as just general intuition. He’s basically a moray eel but with arms, he can and will bite your legs off if you get too close.
Love him!!! Great detail
(I just need to work on my mermaid's background and personality a bit, I should have her up soon-ish (really sorry that I'm taking a while, I'm not familiar with aquatic rps and motivation has been lacking recently.))
(You’re totally fine don’t worry about!)
(isokieeeeeee)
(So guess who refreshed the 'edit post' page and lost all of their character progress?)
(I legit hate myself rn)
ANYWAY here she is!
Name: Amira (Mira) Schmidt
Gender: Female
Species: Mermaid
Sexuality: Bi
Age: 142
Appearance: With long aquamarine hair and big, brown, doe-like eyes, there is nothing not to love about Amira. Her tail is the dark yellow color in the center of daffodils and she wears a short black dress that has white ties by the collar of it.
Personality: Calm, collected, and protector of friends, Amira cares deeply for those that she loves, friend or otherwise. She is very childish, though, often finding fun in racing sea turtles in the currents and guessing which human was going to kiss who on any ships she found.
Likes: Swimming, Sea creatures, and Watching humans interact with one another
Dislikes: Arguments, Sea urchins, Sirens (she believes that they bring about chaos wherever they go)
Backstory: Amira was 46 when she died of illness, her husband pushing her body out into the sea on a raft with wild daffodils that she used to pick in the valley by their home. When she awoke, she went out to find her husband. She watched him live out the rest of his short-lived life when one day she noticed that he didn't leave his house. This went on for days. Weeks later, the stench came, and she knew that her husband decided to wear the necklace of rope on that fateful day when he didn't leave the house. She wishes no sadness or anger among any more people or merfolk, and she was blessed by the sea gods to influence the emotions of people around her.
Other (abilities, etc): Mira is able to sense and change the emotions of the people around her, but she has to have direct contact with them for that to be able to work. More often than not, she uses her abilities to settle disputes among creatures or merfolk.
o-oh,,, the poor husband…
but niceu
(Dude I hate when that happens, usually tho if I just press the back arrow you can get it back)
