"don't tell me the unfeeling vampire that goes from person to person every week actually cares about someone. or did you just find it better to kill innocent people who actually had a future, instead of a willing volunteer?"
he pushed his glasses up, hard blue eyes squinting at vicente.
The corner of his lip curved into a small smile. "A little bit of both, actually." He lied down, resting on the palm of his hand behind his head. "Is that so wrong, Issac?"
"ugh, don't call me isaac. nobody does, except for zen when he's pissed off." he fell down next to vicente, crossing his arms over his stomach.
"this is awfully strange. we should probably leave before we get blamed for the murderous new vampire on the loose."
"She'll settle down once she's full," he turned to him, a grin plastered on his face. "Like you will, when you Turn."
"mm. fucking kill me before that happens. even if i don't die in high school, i don't want to be immortal." he didn't look at vicente, though he knew he was looking.
"I don't care," he said flatly. "I'm not going to kill you. If you really don't want to be immortal, go to Nimue for help. But I doubt she could do anything about it." Except kill him, of course.
he sat up briskly.
"do you have her number?"
isaac really was dead-set on not being immortal. too cliche, too depressing. he didn't want to extend his pathetic life any longer than it had to be. better to burn out in high school than have to deal with himself for the rest of eternity. though watching the sun explode would be cool, he wasn't trying to live long enough to see it.
He shook his head and stood upright. "Okay, why are you so set on dying anyway? I'm trying to understand you here."
"just something that's ingrained in me." he shrugged.
"also i like, desperately don't want to be immortal and have to rely on blood to survive. regular food is fine for me, thanks."
"No, I doubt that. Something has to be bothering you," Vicente pulled his phone out of his pocket and tapped on his contact list. "Here," he handed his the phone. "It's under 'N'… but it might take a while to find her considering–" he shook his head. "Nevermind."
he looked at vicente, seeming confused, but took the phone.
"obviously there's something bothering me."
he scrolled down until he found her name, tapping on the contact and hitting 'call.' isaac looked blankly at the floor as the phone rang.
"Mind telling me what it is?" It only rang for about a few seconds before she hung up. "She's probably busy. You could always text her."
"it's a really long story. you don't want to hear it." he flipped his glasses back down, beginning to type out a message to nimue.
hey, it's someone using colgate's phone. one of his 'victims'. i'm assuming i need to be killed because he doesn't know how to keep people from turning. hmu, here's my number: (his number)
"I wouldn't have asked you if I didn't want to here it," he took his phone and shoved it in his back pocket. The screaming noises from outside died down, assuming that Kariin was done. He wasn't surprised that nobody else came out to see what was causing such a commotion– he didn't expect any less from humans.
"like i said before, it's cliche. dumb, if you will. but i guess i'm just sensitive. i'm also wary to tell my problems to a vampire i barely know who has just sealed my fate of either death or immortality."
isaac looked towards the ceiling.
"i hope zen is okay."
He shrugged. "Why don't you go on ahead and check on him?" he picked up the dagger he had dropped on the ground and tucked it in his pants.
"i'm mildly afraid of the carnage outside, and significantly more afraid that he'll be really really mad at me. but you're right."
he got up, crossing to the door and struggling with it for a moment before opening it, and stepping out gingerly.
"I'll follow you then."
Vicente trailed behind him, careful not to step on the two bloodied bodies tight in front of him along with an unconscious Kariin laying amongst them. This will be a pain to clean after.
isaac picked his way over to his door, knocking softly. there were some shuffling sounds, and zen cracked the door to level a glare at isaac.
"… you BASTARD!"
the door was immediately flung open, zen pulling isaac dramatically into his arms.
"your dumb ass had me so worried, i didn't actually expect you to stay there!"
he lowered his voice and continued to talk to isaac, and he received several quiet answers.
He glanced at his feet and cleared his throat. "I'll," he jerked his thumb to the bodies on the ground. "just go… I-um, I guess i'll see you around?" Vicente shook his head and walked away from the two.
zen shot a positively poisonous look after vicente, shifting the smaller boy in his arms so that he could close the door behind vicente.
First thing, he picked up Kariin, who's mouth was coated in red– as though someone had painted it. He set her down on her bed gently before going back to drag the security guards inside, one being a portly man, a small red-headed woman being the other.
Vicente didn't have any remorse for what he did as it was either him or them. Though, it left him with the task of getting rid of the bodies. He threw the two over his shoulder after cleaning up Kariin as well as the puddle of blood outside her door. He figured he had to bury them somewhere– the courtyard maybe?
isaac had been immediately cuddled when he came into the room, and that continued through the night. the boys had slept on the floor together, taking some of their bedding to create a two-person nest against a wall.
in the morning, isaac woke up first.
he sighed.
fuck.
