Rowan grimaced a little bit as they passed the brothels, edging away from the people that were already hawking their "Wares". Their bodies. He had absolutely no wish to sleep with a stranger, especially not one he had to pay for that. Nope. No way, no how.
Venus took a glance back to check on his guest, yet again smiling to himself over his behaviour.
Looking back ahead, Venus knew he’d have to make a decision now. Taking a prostitute out to the newbies could ruin a bit of the … friendship out here. But, the Doves killed plenty of people anyway, so one more wouldn’t really affect the numbers.
So then, who would he take? He looked at another marking on the wall, knowing that they were practically there now.
To fix the situation, Venus just grabbed the closest to him, and pulled them around the bend to the entrance.
“Make sure you stay close now, Rowan.”
Rowan frowned when Venus grabbed someone, but did as Venus had said to, his eyebrows pulled together in a faint frown. He didn't speak as he followed the gang leader through the alleys and streets, his eyes flashing around warily. Maybe I shouldn't have come.
Venus stopped and pulled open a door, following the marks on the walls.
Inside was a lot different from the surrounding buildings, where there was a lot less light and sound. A few heads turned to the door, probably wondering who had decided to get themselves killed, before noticing who was here.
Venus didn’t bother greeting anyone, and only looked back to make sure Rowan was still there. The newbies would be kept in another room, and as requested, it wouldn’t be a room too far from the entrance- for Venus’s convenience of course.
Rowan was indeed still there, looking around with anxiety clearly printed on his face. He shook his head just a little bit, making a face and letting out a slow breath. This was a bad idea. He thought to himself, holding his bag close and staring around.
Venus would have laughed at Rowan looking so out place, but he needed to be serious for now. Though it didn’t seem like he was trying to hide too much, and he smirked.
He walked further down a hallway, stopping mid-way to open a door. Different to the others, this door easily showed that it was strongly built.
“You guys are the newbies, huh?” He purred, looking onto three individuals. All were equally diverse in appearance, and only shared bleached white hair.
Rowan stayed near Venus. Better the devil I know than the devil I don't. He thought, taking a deep breath and trying to look less ill at ease. He didn't really know what to say or do.
(Sorry for taking so long! It was my sister’s birthday so I had to focus on getting everything together for her.)
Venus pointed to a chair in the corner, “You can sit there, my guest.”
He then stepped forwards and forced the prostitute he had brought with him to her knees.
“Alright newbies-“ Venus looked to meet the blank gazes of the three, clearly expressing they were only waiting for him to leave. “Please kill this young lady.”
They all paused before one stood up, really taking his time. To this, before they could kill the girl, Venus snapped, “Wrong. Sit down.”
(it's alright!)
Rowan frowned a little bit, sitting in the chair. At the order, he cringed slightly. Sure, he knew what death was, had dealt with it before, but… seeing this before his eyes? He didn't want this.
The individual was visibly annoyed by Venus and didn’t bother to sit back down.
The other two blinked, then realizing they still had to follow Venus’s orders.
Venus moved the girl over to the wall, and she was very much too chilled to the bone to do anything.
“If you newbies are going to be slacking so much, why are you even here? Join some other gang if you’re going to spend your sweet time killing people. You’re here so do your job.”
As the defiant individual opened his mouth to shout back at Venus, he was grabbed by the collar and thrown back down.
Rowan was silent, seated in the chair with his eyes narrowed. He didn't know what to say, so he didn't say anything. Just kind of sat there with a blank, frozen look on his face.
“Second and last chance,” Venus pulled the prostitute back in front of the newbies. “So hurry up.”
He waited for the newbies to all get nice and close, though he was already increasing the pressure on the woman. With a last, quick increase, there was a bit of a pop as the newbies were splattered with blood. The only things left this time were the organs and puddle of blood.
“Clearly you took way too long, oh … no.” Venus laughed sarcastically. “Rowan, it’s your time to step in. Now, why are you all here?”
Rowan grimaced at the pop, standing up and coming a bit closer, though he studiously avoided the pools of blood on the floor. He looked vaguely like he might throw up, not making eye contact with anyone.
The defiant and loud individual, most prominently remembered by a bright red cloth on his belt, cracked their knuckles and wiped blood off their face.
“Why would I answer to some wimpy punk like this?” His voice held clear annoyance and disgust. “Might as well just kill him too, right?”
Another one of the newbies sneered.
Venus fished a gun out of his jacket, “Since you’re so amazing, you won’t mind if I do this.”
A bullet was fired into the ruffian’s foot.
“Don’t waste more time if you want to stick around, I’m looking at you too, Rowan.” Venus purred.
Rowan let out a breath of exasperation. "Well, Venus, I can't exactly do anything until they speak. It isn't my fault that none of them are really speaking up." he said, looking over at the gang leader for a moment.
