Leo walked up to the cafe were he was to meet the rest of his group for they're weekly Tuesday brunch, and like always, he was early, Leo walked up to the counter and ordered a macchiato. As he waited for the rest of his friends to arrive, and his drink, he pulled out a deck of cards and started to shuffle them.
(thank you! The picture looks great!!)
Blair was the second to show up, lugging a dog carrier and a laptop. She looked at the deck of cards. "Hey Leo, what you got there? Cards today?"
"Yep, Tuesday is card day." Leo got up and walked over to Blair. "Hi Violet." He stated as he bent over to look at the dog. "You are looking beautiful today, both of you are."
Ezra slowly entered the cafe, taking a quick glance over his shoulder before closing the door. His white tank top contrasting his black, whitewashed cargo style jeans. He ran a finger through his unruly hair, catching his earring in the process. He quickly took the seat adjacent to Leo, tapping his fingers nervously. “I told you I should have come with you.” He says softly, looking around the restaurant. “I don’t like it here.”
Blair smiled. "Leo, you say that to everyone…every day. I can help you come up with new compliments, you know." She takes Violet out of her carrier and orders a pumpkin spice latte with 2 shots of expresso, plus a puppuccino. She then leans back in her chair, waiting for the others. "Hm? Hi Ezra. What's wrong with this place?"
Ezra sighs at Leo’s comment to Blair, then relaxes a bit when she rebutted it. smiles at Blair for a second, raising a hand. “Hey. I… I dunno. Just not a fan of this part of town.” His attention quickly turns to her dog. “Hello my little mullido! You’re looking dashing today!” He nuzzles the dog’s face, petting it’s soft fur.
Violet clambers out of Blair's arms to greet Leo and Ezra, happily panting as she shows off her new chew toy. She then turns her attention to the crowd of other people, growling before she retreats to her carrier. Blair watches this behavior. "She's found this place a little suspicious lately. I think it's just that someone else brought their dog though" Blair looks at Leo. "Are you done shuffling?"
Jas had been at the restaurant since opening hour, almost immediately being called to wait on tables or to help staff with food prep. Right now he had retreated to the bar to start cleaning glasses and restocking bottles of alcohol for the busy night he knew awaited hours ahead. He glanced up curiously from wiping a martini glasses clean at the small group that gathered in the center of the restaurant. Great, the girl had brought a dog. While the restaurant was animal friendly, Jas have more than once had to take care of incidents from dogs before he started up the bar for the night. With a roll.if his eyes, he flicked a strand of his hair from his face and quickly made a soda for a nearby table's order.
"I am never done shuffling, and you guys are just being superstitious. What bad could happen in a place that has a rubber duck picture on the wall?" Leo motioned to a wall full of random pictures. "Besides, it's Tuesday, nothing ever happens on Tuesdays."
Ezra continues to snuggle Violet. “I mean… okay. But that Tuesday thing is all wrong. Remember back in primary school when Susie Miller ate a whole thing of glue and we had to sit in Mrs Thompson’s room and the whole time I was trying to keep Roger Yeager from trying to kick your ass? I’m pretty sure that was a Tuesday.” He sighs, looking up at the bartender boy across the restaurant. Something was… different about him
Blair grabs Leo by the shoulder. "Leo. My last dog died on a Tuesday. Tuesdays are very eventful, compared to Thursdays, at least." She then notices her coffee on the counter, and begins to sip the coffee. "So are we playing or not? That rubber duck freaks me out.." She stares at the bartender across the restaurant, slowly blinking.
Ezra sighs at the way Blair touched Leo, pressing his lips together as he stared at the duck. “I told you I was nervous about this place.”
"I wasn't aware I downgraded from bartender to server." Has muttered underneath his breath as he made another order of drinks, including a latte. Thankfully his background in a cafe barista came in handy here. He looked up to the table he was making the order for and locked gazes u with the girl who owned the dog. He flashed a winning grin before disappearing behind the bar to the alcolic beverage storage room they had.
"Bored?" His coworker ask, throwing has a smile.
Jas huffed a laugh "unbelievably so. Can't wait for tonight."
"I don't know why, It's the other end of town that busily gets the bad rep." Leo started dealing out the cards. "Why are you freaked out by the rubber duck Blair?"
Blair shrugs. "It's eyes look weird, also, Ezra didn't order anything." Her eyes dart across the restaurant. Then to Violet's carrier. "Guys, I, uhh..need to go for a second." She gets up and runs out of the building.
