Chantell grins and snatches the locket, continuing the opening and closing motion.
"All of the above." Grace says.

Devi chuckles as the child snatches the necklace. “All yours, my dear.” She then looks at Grace. “From my understanding you were just transported here. We’re by chance in any danger when on earth?”

"I-yeah. I was about to get raped. Again." Grace looks down at Chantelle, smiling softly.

"D-dead? No that's impossible. W-we can't be dead." Grace sits down and rubs her forehead. "We can't be dead." she whispers again.

"I-" Grace begins crying. "No. Maybe I'm dead, but Chantelle is not. She wasn't even with me. She was at school."

Grace pulls out her phone, seeing hundreds of new text messages. All of them saying relatively the same thing. A school shooter. Many kids still not found. Chantelle included. "No," Grace sobbed, tears flowing freely down her cheeks. "No!"

Devi sighs and gently places a hand on her shoulder, sending a wave of peace through her. “I know…but Gia decided that you two will be together.” She looks down at Chantelle.

"At least Chantelle and I are together." Grace looks at Chantelle, smiling slightly. "So, what is this place?"

Deleted user

"So like, the afterlife? Greek and roman gods and all that?" Grace asks, standing and picking up Chantelle.

Grace grabs Chantelle's hand, then Devi's. "Where are we going?" she asks.

Devi smiles. “To my palace.” She guides them to a gigantic glass palace with a beautiful river and plants everywhere. The glass and light made stunning rainbows onto the water. “This is where you two will stay.”

"I don't know about me, but Chantelle has always wanted a pet. A bird. I think she wanted a blue-headed parrot."

Chantelle squeals and pulls the bird into a hug, kissing its head. "Thank you," Grace says. "Thank you very much."
