“She young. She messed up,” Alice replied. “You can’t possibly pin this on her. Plus, you hardly even got arrested.”
“She young. She messed up,” Alice replied. “You can’t possibly pin this on her. Plus, you hardly even got arrested.”
Alex tried to calm herself down. She likes to make people angry, calm down, she told herself. Taking a deep breath, she started, "Come on, let's just get this thing over with. What's it supposed to do?" and she kept walking, there was a nearby abandoned warehouse that Alice should be able to work on.
“Well the description was pretty vague…” Alive admitted. “It’s just sorta a general purity sign, but it looks really cool so I wanted to do it anyway.”
"Huh, okay… I suppose it'll keep any evil spirits that might be lurking around here at bay?" she joked. "But really, you don't exactly know what it'll do, do you?"
“You know I’m not good at this kinda stuff. Why don’t you do the research for me?” She whined. “You’re the smart magic person, I’m the artist. Let me and my messy research be.”
"But we can't be sloppy about research. I would do it, but as you can see, I don't currently have the resources at the moment. It'd take too long to do it on my phone, plus I might run out of battery… We could do another shield though…" Alex explained in an exasperated tone.
“Hell, no! I’m bored of the shields. It was in the good signs book, it’ll be fine.” She dropped the duffel bag upon arrival at the warehouse.
"Alright," Alex gave in dubiously.
“Thank you. Now, do we have a ladder or do I need to step on you?” Alive smirked.
She rolled her eyes, but she took out a small sheet of paper and scribbled a lil something on it. Alex set the paper on the ground, bent down and pulled a ladder out of it. Satisfied with her handiwork, she shoved the paper in her backpack and handed the ladder to Alice. "There."
“But the question is…” Alice said taking the ladder. “Could you pull a million dollars out of your magic paper?”
Alex rubbed her forehead with the heel of her hand. "Are you kidding me? You know just as well as all of us here that if we came into the sudden possession of large amounts of money, we'd have to answer to where we got it.*
Alice started to climb up the ladder while shaking a paint can. “We’ll say we won the lottery. You’re saying the only thing keeping us from a million dollars is what other people will think? That’s depressing.”
She shook her head, and didn't answer. She knew that they were too young to enter the lottery in the first place.
Alice scrunched up her face and turned back to the surface. "Would you mind bringing the sketch over here so I know what I'm doing?" She sprayed a surface layer of red paint on the warehouse wall.
"Sure," Alex brought over the sketchbook that she'd seen Alice holding earlier.
“If you’re so smart why can’t you just know what this thing is supposed to mean by memory?” Alive grabbed the notebook and looked at it for a moment before holding it between her teeth so she could use both hands. Very muffled she said,”Or better yet, teach me all this stuff in a less boring way. I wanna learn how to do all this crazy stuff too.”
She looked at the drawing. "I haven't done that one in a long time. And besides, if you wanted a different teaching method you should've said so."
