Miles' first instinct was to grab her around the waist and pull her up, spinning her around a little before stopping, still holding her in his arms. "….That's wonderful," He said, softly and seductively.
Miles' first instinct was to grab her around the waist and pull her up, spinning her around a little before stopping, still holding her in his arms. "….That's wonderful," He said, softly and seductively.
Emmeline blushed and nodded, holding onto him happily, "That was fun, unexpected.." She said, smiling almost like a little kid, "But fun."
He chuckled, pressing his forehead against hers. "Of course you thought it was fun…." Miles smiled before giving her a kiss, short and sweet.
She kissed him back for a moment before pulling away, smiling and kissing the bridge of his nose. "I'm not going to let you put me down, you know that right?" She asked, her arms looped around his neck.
"But Emmeline," He said gently, "I don't want to have to carry you all the way to the next town – as much as I do want to do that, it'll absolutely exhaust me…." Miles pecked her back on the neck – a place he never thought he'd kiss any girl.
A shiver coursed through her and she kissed him on the cheek before sighing, "Fine.." She said, "You can put me down.."
He set her down, but still held her in his arms. "Well, I'm sorry, sweetheart," He said softly, "But what else do you expect me to do?…. And to be truthful, up until now, you were never interested in being…. Well… Romantic, in a sense…" And now she wants me to carry her?….
Emmeline wrapped him in a hug and nodded, "I know," She smiled, "And having you carry me was just a joke, my job is to carry the supplies."
"Heheh…" Miles forced him to take his hands off her. "Maybe our next stop." He went over to the supplies that were wrapped in the blanket and tossed it to her. "Well, here's this. I can lead the way…" He approached the door and waited for her.
She caught the supplies and walked to the door, looking you at him, "Then lead the way," She said, smiling and bouncing on her toes. The blanket and supplies weren't exactly heavy, they were just awkward to carry in her arms.
"Alright…." Miles said, extremely hushed. He opened the door slowly, relieved to see no one was there. That would've been awkward… They slipped out and outside in no time, and he was glad they hadn't run into anyone quite yet. But that can change…
She scanned their surroundings carefully, keeping her eyes open for the girl from before. Emmeline pointed to the way to get out of town and looked up at Miles, knowing that they had to keep moving.
Miles shuffled along the road, moving quickly until they were far out of town. He let out a sigh. "That's better… Ever since I met that…. Girl… I've always been paranoid, to be honest." She seems too creepy… He shuttered.
"The girl in the market?" She asked, "Besides the fact that she was flirting with you, she seemed strange." She bumped him with her shoulder, "You? Paranoid? I would never have guessed." She joked.
"Mm-hmm," He hummed, scrunching his brow. She could be up to anything…. Miles tried to shake it off since they were quite some distance away from the city, but he couldn't. She's definitely plotting something….
Emmeline started humming softly as they walked, looking at their surroundings and deciding that she liked the trees most of all since they looked like she could climb them.
Miles walked along, glancing over his shoulder once in a while. She could be following us for all I care! "I'm thinking we should go off the path…" He said, spacing out a little.
"We can do that," She said, looking up at him to make sure that he wasn't joking as she veered off of the path, "We just need to make sure that we don't get lost."
"….As long as we find a town, we won't be lost…" Miles murmured, following her. They went over through the brush into the deep woods, where the sun barely shined.
This place is nice…. He thought subtly.
"I suppose.." Emmeline stayed close to Miles as they walked, waiting for her vision to adjust to the dim lighting of the woods.
"I mean… It seems pretty snug in here…" Miles pulled her closer to his side, their sides practically touching. I don't want to loose my precious sweetheart….
He scoped out the place, seeing faint streaks of sunlight filtering through the leaves as they walked. I doubt it…
She smiled softly and leaned her head against him, "I suppose," She said, looking around the woods, "This place is nice.'
"I wouldn't mind staying in a place here…." Miles said with a grin. "Seems nice and secluded…. No one would ever think as to go in here because it's so dark…." Yet he was quite wrong, as a sharp rustling caught his ear. He instinctively swooped Emmeline up, tight in his arms and barked out, "Who's there!!?"
She squeaked as he picked her up and she looked around, wondering what had gotten Miles so worried and nervous. "Miles, it's probably just a rabbit or something, you can put me down." She shifted in his arms so that the pack of stuff wasn't as awkwardly placed.
The rustling continued.
Miles' breathing began to get heavy, but he tried to be quiet. "I'm not putting you down until I know what it is…." He breathed.
A raspy voice called out. "Hello!? Who goes there!?"
He flinched. That doesn't sound like no rabbit!!!!
