Cherry smiled, then leaned over forwards as Sebastian leaned on her back.

"You two are just…weird," Melanie said, pointing at the two. "I would ship it if I weren't in an everlasting relationship with Cherry."

"And you would ship it, except I'm gay and I already have a partner," Seb answered.

"Yep. So back away from Cherry. Before I make you." There was both a mix of teasing and seriousness in Melanie's voice. She knew Sebastian meant no harm, but the way he was near Cherry…she didn't feel comfortable about it.

"No. You can't tell me what to do. We've been best friends since in the womb. You're not interfering with that," Seb said, eyes piercing.

"As long as you stay best friends, we're good. If you try anything I won't hesitate to tear you limb from limb…or at least try to." Melanie shrugged, knowing fully well that she couldn't do such a thing.

"Of course we'll stay as just best friends. I'm gay remember. Besides. It's obvious that it will be the other way around."

"Shut up, Seb." Melanie rolled her eyes. "Are we good to go, Cherry? Or do you want to spend more time with your 'boyfriend?'"

"Don't be like that, Melanie," Cherry said. "I know that I'm always spending time with him but I've known him longer than you. And frankly, I trust him more. But that's just how it is."

"I know, I'm only joking. I guess I shouldn't bring that up in the future, then…sorry." Melanie's hand found the back of her neck.

"That….wouldn't be wise," Cherry said softly.

"Sorry. I didn't mean that in the way I said it. Hell, I honestly like that Seb's your friend. I didn't mean any of what I said to be offensive at all…" Melanie shyly backs away, biting her lip and looking down. Look what you did, Melanie! Now you've offended her! And now… Melanie clenched and unclenched her jaw, trying her hardest not to cry.

"Please welcome my co singers, Cherry, Melanie and Sebastian back onto the stage to join me in singing Good For You from Dear Evan Hansen," Savannah said, gesturing to the three.

Melanie faked a smile and walked onstage, but it was evident that her smile was anything but real, and she knew that. Nevertheless, she prepared for performing.

Melanie smiled coyly and when it came to her moment, she sang. She started roughly, but regained her momentum mid-way.

Melanie smiled as she listened to the other two sung, swaying her head from side to side.
