CherryBlack Music is a little tiny music store in the small town of Petrie Heights. At first glance, it might look like just any music store. But CherryBlack is for those that have suffered hardships in their life, and music is their only escape. Victims of abuse, rape, even disabled people of all ages and types come to express themselves in music. CherryBlack is only a few years old, but it had become well known because of it's story.
Adelaide Black was never able to have children. She was infertile and the one man she'd ever loved had passed shortly before their wedding. Adelaide could never bring herself to love anyone else, so she was left alone. Adelaide was scrolling through her feed one day and came across a video of a little girl at an orphanage, who had a passion for music. This little girl was named Cherry. Cherry had lost her mother at a young age, and she had suffered years of abuse and rape at the hands of her father. Her father had died in a car crash, leaving Cherry orphaned. But nobody wanted to adopt her because of what she'd been through. No one except Adelaide. So Cherry was given a new home, with a loving mother. Adelaide soon opened a music store named CherryBlack, after her daughter. This store was for people like Cherry who loved music. It wasn't long before Adelaide met someone by the name of John Adams, and they were soon married. So, Cherry had a family again.
So yeah. I'm not sure if I want this to be a romance or not, but either way I'm Cherry.
(I'm probably going to stalk this if you don't want me to join-that's okay, right?)
(yeah
and youre fine to join if you want to)
(Okay, I'll join then. Will I be playing the role of someone specific, or am I making my own?
Also, a few essential questions I ask before I join any RP:
Q1: I have a time restriction [mentioned in my bio]. Does this allow me to RP with you? If this disqualifies me RPing with you, don't worry I understand [I'll probably stalk then].
Q2 [If you said yes to #1]: Do we have a template?
Q3: What age range are we looking at?)
(1.i dont really care cause we live in different time zones so i dont actually know the times youre on
2.yes there is
3.itll be said in the template
also you can make up your own
also you can decide if its romance or not)
(Sure, let's make it a romance! I also forgot to ask if we're allowed to curse (mildly, not like ten times in one response by just one character)? Seeing as you'll be playing the girl, I think I have a guy in mind…maybe?)
(yes, you can curse
and i swear a lot irl so you can if you want to
also im fine with a gxg relationship)

(Sorry I'm taking a bit to do my character. I'm almost halfway done, and I got some of the big things out of the way)
(Here she is!
Name: Melanie Rodriguez
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Melanie is a tall but stout teenager, with a ring-shaped earring in her right ear. She has wavy light brown hair that passes her shoulder blades. Her eyes are a pale blue, with and even darker blue circling around it. She has white specks near the center of her iris. She is somewhat muscular, but not entirely masculine.
Style: She usually wears a white T-shirt under a lightweight, dark red cloth jacket with even darker red buttons. She also wears black jeans and white Nike tennis shoes. She has four rings, two on each hand: one on her thumb and one on her ring finger, but it’s apparent that she isn’t married. She has a stainless steel watch with a light pink face, and a stainless steel bracelet painted gold that, in cursive letters, says love.
Personality: Melanie is very conservative, and she prefers to stay alone. When faced with a challenge, she’s usually torn between acting logically or creatively. She tends to not usually engage in a conversation, and she comes off as shy, kind, and apologetic.
Likes: Music, Reading, Writing, Drawing, and Playing her Instrument.
Dislikes: Bullies, Awkward Situations, and Anything Messy
Background: Melanie was raised in a well-structured family, with caring parents and an annoying older brother, Chris, being five years older than her. During her childhood, she was constantly bullied because she wouldn’t talk a lot, or she didn’t have friends, or people plain-out said she was ugly. She believed them, even when Chris stood up for her and stopped the bullying…temporarily. She still has to deal with bullying and harassment, but most of it is online. She finds her way of escaping the world by putting her heart and soul into music. Singing, playing, and writing, all of it helps her forget about reality.
Theme song: Marshmello ft. Khalid - Silence
Quote/s: “I’m sorry!” “I-I just want to listen to you play/sing. Is that okay? I can leave if you want…”
Preferred Instrument: Viola (AKA the Fiddle), a little Chello.
Sing or no: She can sing well, but her shyness makes her insecure, so she doesn’t show it off.
Songwriter or cover-er: Melanie writes lyrics to songs, but she doesn’t expect them to actually become part of a song.
Other: N/A)
(i love her
rn im in school but im working on cherry)
Name: Cherry Adams
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Cherry has medium brown skin, akin the colour of milk chocolate. Her hair is very dark and wavy, and has been compared to the colour of dark chocolate. Her eyes stand out, as they aren’t the usual brown. Her left eye is an emerald green, while her right is sky blue. Her eyes are easily the prettiest thing about her.
Cherry also has a tattoo just above her pubic section. It’s a flower, which to her represents her new life after the abuse and rape that she endured. She has a small quote next to it in cursive, ‘Do not judge my story by the chapter you walked in on.’ (https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1eCt6frorBKNjSZFjq6A_SpXaD/Temporary-Tattoo-Sticker-large-size-body-art-sketch-flower-tattoo-water-Transfer-Fake-Tattoo-Flash-tatto.jpg_640x640.jpg)
Style: Cherry wears whatever is comfortable. She has an eye for style and likes to shop. While she tries to be comfortable, she also likes to look good. Her favourite clothes are flowy shirts, jeans and block heels.
Personality: Cherry is kind, resourceful and caring. She looks after people and only ever wants the best for them. She lives to entertain and is always looking to improve.
Likes: Singing, Melanie, guitar, her new family, her best friend Seb
Dislikes: Her father, her past
Background: Cherry’s first few years of life were loving. Both of her parents loved her, and she was just a normal happy girl. Then her father accidentally got delivered drugs. Instead of turning them in, he used them. He turned abusive. Cherry only got some of the abuse. When her mother couldn’t take anymore, she passed, and Cherry’s father directed it all at her. She suffered roughly 6 years of constant rape and abuse at the hands of her father. When she was 10, her father was killed by a drug dealer because he’d missed payments. So Cherry was left orphaned. She was in an orphanage for 1 year, before a lady by the name of Adelaide Black adopted her. Cherry went from Cherry Anderson to Cherry Black, then to Cherry Adams when Adelaide married.
Cherry loved music from a young age. Despite everything that her father did to her, Cherry found solace in music. It was the only thing that was there for her.
Theme song: Am I Supposed To Apologise? by Maria Mena
Quote/s:
- "Why am I expected to apologise?! After everything my father did to me, I'm the one who's supposed to apologise?! He's finally out of my life and now you're making me relive it?! NO! You don't get to do that! You don't get to tell me what I can and can't do!"
- “I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible, and when I leave you will finally understand why storms are named after people.”
- “There’s always a glimmer in those who have been through the dark.”
- “You don’t need all that armour. Because what lives inside, they can’t break.”
- "Oh look a fuck I give. And it’s gone. They’re all gone. They’re abandoning the city.”
Preferred instrument: Guitar
Sing or no: Sing
Songwriter or cover-er: Cherry does write songs, but has never had enough confidence to sing them for anyone, or even tell anyone. She prefers to do covers as they’re easier.

(im gonna have them already dating if thats ok)
Adelaide walked up to the microphone. "Hello, everyone! Thanks for coming to tonight's CherryBlack Music Night! We have an amazing show for you tonight, and if you missed the sign on during the week, we still have a few more spots open! First up, we have Cherry Adams and Melanie Rodriguez. After that, we have Sebastian Walters and then Savannah Hardie. Come on, Cherry and Melanie!" The two walked onto stage, Cherry with a guitar over her shoulder.
"Hey guys! We're going to sing Everyone Is Gay by A Great Big World for you! If you're homophobic, you can either stay for the rest of the music or just fuck off." She smiled and put her thumbs up.
Melanie chuckled and there was a shy smile brimming on her face. C'mon Mel, you can do this. You've practiced in front of Cherry and Adelaide before. Just pretend like you're performing for them… Melanie convinced herself, and she started to sing.
"If you're gay then you're gay
Don't pretend that you're straight…"
Melanie sang without many flaws (usually, when she would sing, she would chicken out whenever her voice cracked), and she sang through the entire song with Cherry. Her smile reflected how accomplished she felt.
Cherry finished the song and then turned to hug Melanie. Considering she suffered from mild stage fright, Melanie had done really well. "Guys please welcome to the stage my best friend, Sebastian Walters! He will be singing Evermore from the live-action Beauty and the Beast." Cherry passed Melanie her guitar, who walked off, before sitting down at the piano to play for Seb.
"Thanks." Melanie managed a whisper before Cherry turned to the piano. She walked off stage, gingerly carrying the guitar, and stood by Adelaide, contently awaiting the performance.
Cherry started to play, and Sebastian walked up to the microphone.
"You guys have amazing chemistry," Adelaide whispered to Melanie as she watched her daughter.
"Huh? Oh! Thanks…I know I can be a bit shy at times, though, but thank you for the compliment." Melanie always felt more comfortable around Adelaide and Cherry. Both in different ways. Melanie feels more at ease and friendly around Adelaide, but with Cherry…it's that and more.
"Cherry's doing great, don't you think?" Melanie piped up, a soft smile starting to brim.
"She is," Adelaide smiled. "You know, I always thought Cherry and Seb would end up a thing. But now knowing he's gay, I'm happy it's you that she's with."
"Yeah. I remember when I first met Cherry, she wouldn't leave me alone, despite my shyness and me telling her to back off politely. She's persistent like that." Melanie nodded and smiled, watching the two perform. "She's also very spunky, not afraid to speak her mind. I like that in her, even if it contradicts me completely." She chuckles lightly.
The song was almost finished, and as Seb finished singing, Cherry looked at Melanie. She smiled softly.
Melanie smiled back and gave her a thumbs up. She really was playing well, and Melanie couldn't be prouder.
They finished the song, and Cherry walked down as Seb took a few bows.
"You did a great job, Cherry!" Melanie grinned, offering Cherry her guitar back. "To be honest, you did way better than Sebastian. Don't tell him I said that."
"I just played piano. He was the real act," Cherry replied.
"Are you guys ready to perform Good For You after Savannah's done Familiar?" Adelaide asked.
