Khadijah let out a loud hiss, a clear warning. She hadn't expected a human to have wandered out here. It should have been expected though, the aerial battle moments ago was quite hard to miss. The only thing she wanted at this moment was to get away from the incoming human. Kind or not, it wasn't likely that he wanted to help. Her injury would likely make most assume she would die soon anyways. Kinder humans might kill her to "put her out of her misery." If this boy was someone who hunted her kind however…
Her scales would be ripped from her sides further, wings dismantled to be sold for feathers, teeth pulled to make some pretty prize.
Again, Khadijah attempted to stand to appear more intimidating, baring her teeth. It was then that her vision began to spin, causing her legs to collapse.
It was certainly the pathetic show. The Phicilae took labored breaths as she attempted to crawl away. It was horrible to show such weakness and it damaged her pride greatly. It would take him a mere few steps to grab her from the middle and do whatever he wished. As her front legs pulled her forwards, she willed her body to change form. At least then, the stranger would never have her body as a trophy.
(Sorry for lack of response, had some family stuff)
Eli stopped upon the warning, although it was easy for him to tell that this Phicilae’s condition was probably not good. And although the nearby town didn’t have Phicilae come by too often, he was well aware that there were nearby hunters. Quickly raising his hands, in a whisper-yell; although he was unsure of what the Phicilae’s grasp on human language was; he spoke.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, please try to be quiet..” Eli had no visible weaponry on him. He wasn’t to keep this encounter as quiet as possible, since sound could travel quite far, and given the fact you didn’t know who was in the forest at one time, Eli wasn’t wanting to take many risks. Although he didn’t walk forwards anymore, he didn’t step back, either, opting to hold ground instead and await a response before he did anything.
(No worries. Got a lot of school to do, plus work so I'll reply when I can. Probably not today though.)
Her gaze darted around the male's form looking for anything that could be used against her. Not seeing anything aside from the pole he dropped, the Phicilae stopped moving away. Khadijah narrowed her eyes at the human before her. She didn't like how he was keeping his voice down. It meant that there might be others. But his words were clear to her. Nothing about this was really "okay," but it could be worse. Khadijah mentally sighed. There was the choice to let this human closer or to leave obvious signs for hunters who would be far less kind. Her body finally fell back to the ground. She felt so tired.
Eli watched her for a moment. He wasn’t actually quite sure what to do, he’d never been in this situation before. It seemed as though the Phicilae did understand what he said, so he decided to have another go and ask another question.
“Can you..can you shift?” He asked, walking a tiny bit closer. Her being in a human form could probably make this easier, but if not then he’d have to see what he could do from this point.
At the current moment, she could not. This had never really happened before. Then again, she'd never been this injured before. Or this close to a human when not appearing as one herself. She acknowledged the male's question by giving a small huff.
