Robin's eyes flickered when the car stopped, but she didn't wake up.
Matteo turned the car off, sliding out and moving around to the passenger side door. He opened it carefully, debating whether to wake her up, or to let her sleep. She's not one of your other friends, you can't just carry her in, dimwit.
To his relief, Robin stirred and blinked her eyes open. "Mmm… where am I?" she asked quietly.
"My apartment. I was about to wake you up so we could head up." Matteo said softly, motioning to the apartment building.
Robin sat up and moaned. "My head…"
"Hangover headaches. You should eat, it'll help." Matteo said, leaning against the van as he let her take her time.
Robin winced. "Are we going to go inside?" she asked, blinking slowly.
'Waiting on you." Matteo said, nodding. "C'mon, need any help?"
"No," she mumbled, nearly face planting as she got out of the car.
His arm shot out, not quite touching her, but blocking her from falling all the way. "Please, just let me help? I don't want you falling or something."
Robin groaned. "Okay… can you help?"
"Yeah. I'm going to wrap my arm around the area above your waist to support you, and I won't move it, alright?" Matteo promised, before doing just that. His arm stayed around her middle, letting her lean against him, and didn't move it anywhere.
Robin leaned against him, thankful for the help. Her small bag was still tight in her hand of the things she'd stolen from him, which he had stolen from her first. She shut the car door and stumbled a second after. "Sorry," she mumbled. "We should go inside."
Matteo locked the car doors, before starting for the building slowly, helping her along. Once they made it into the lobby type room at the bottom, he stopped, gesturing to the elevator. "Stairs, or elevator? I recommend elevator, but it's up to you."
She nodded simply. "Elevator."
"Gotcha." He guided her over, pressing the button and helping her in when the doors opened, before pressing the button for the third floor.
"Why are you doing this?" she asked softly, looking over at him.
"Doing what?" He raised an eyebrow, meeting her eyes.
"Helping me," Robin clarified, massaging the side off her head with two fingers. Her other hand kept her stable.
"Why wouldn't I?" Matteo asked, still just as baffled. "You needed help."
She squinted at him. "A real poster child, huh?" She was teasing him in a friendly way. The smile on her lips and tone of voice proved it.
"Far from it, according to my grandparents. I'd like to think I'm a good person from time to time though." He shot her a smile.
((Oh, uh, btw. This is actually Astrea's twin, though in this, they'd be older.))
(Idk who Astrea is lol)
Robin studied him. The sleep in the car did her some good. Surprisingly, she handled alcohol much better than most people. He looked nice. Decent. Someone she could trust to talk to. "Well, as we just met, I can't really determine that, now can I?"
((From The Art of Conformity lmao))
"Probably not. But hey, as long as I don't give you reason to determine otherwise, I'm doing something right." Matteo's smile was lopsided and slightly goofy, his dark brown hair falling into his eyes.
(Ooooooh. See? I am stupid!)
She giggled, pushing her own dark hair out of her face. Good God, he's cute… "I guess that's how it works…"
