Raphael flapped his large wings in annoyance and looked around. He didn't even know where he was–just that he was in the middle of the woods. Helpful, considering that the old man lived in the woods. He sighed and just started walking, listening to the wind in an attempt to get some idea of where he was going. Once again, not that it helped. There was little to no wind where he was.
Arthur strode through the trees, his feet making little to no sound on the forest floor as he walked. He drew up his hood out of habit, knowing his red hair was easy to spot almost anywhere. His clothing consisted mainly of what you would expect a hunter to wear. Except for the fact that he appeared unarmed. He wore snug cargo pants, and a leather jacket over a dark hoodie. He had a small bag, carrying various items, but no weapon to be seen.
Suddenly, the wind picked up and ruffled his already fluffy hair as it whispered in his ear. He stopped and tilted his head. There was someone coming this way? He shrugged and headed to the origin of the sudden gust of wind. He wasn't sure if this person was friendly or not, but he could always ask the wind to help him as he flew off into the sunset. Just the thought of fleeing made him snort, however. He wasn't the type to flee at the first sign of danger. In fact, he looked for it.
Arthur scanned the trees carefully, searching for anything unusual. Finally he spotted something white through the trees. Now I wonder what that could be… he thought, watching the spot as it moved. Finally he got close enough, and climbed up to another branch to watch curiously, hoping it wasn't another manticore. Those were a pain to deal with.
Raphael looked up as the wind shifted higher up, indicating that the someone was in the trees. He stopped, allowing the person to approach on their own. Though he didn't mind getting into trouble–when it wasn't the old man–he didn't want to spook someone that could potentially help him.
Arthur felt the breeze shift, and hummed curiously, but he didn't move. He wasn't scared of whatever it was, but he wasn't going to make a stupid mistake and accidentally disturb some wild creature on the hunt.`
Raphael flapped his wings irritably, growing tired of waiting. The small gusts of wind his wings created disturbed the leaves along the forest floor. "Hello?" he called out. He ruffled his feathers before settling them back down, his wings neatly tucked in.
Arthur heard someone call out, not too far away. He'd been watching something white move for a bit now, but now it had stopped. He smirked, echoing the voice. "Hello!" he called.
Raphael rolled his eyes and adjusted the bag around his shoulder. "I don't particularly care for wasting my time on talking trees, so if you're not going to show yourself, Imma just leave."
Arthur huffed quietly, moving from his spot to the next tree branch lightly, eventually ending up near the boy, within eyesight. "And who said you were wasting your time?" he asked, balancing on the branch Spidey style.
"Me. And I have yet to determine if you're gonna be useful, so I stand by my statement." Raphael gave the newcomer a quick once over, his wings tucked in tight. He might do, if he'll agree.
(Raphie is 21, btw)
(Arthur would be a little older than that, (Cause timeline for past events) but we can flub it to similar..)
"And how would I need to be useful?" asked Arthur, studying the other's wings curiously.
(how much older? If it's not too much we can keep it as they are)
"I have to go across the continent to a temple to make a delivery. Think you could keep me from, oh, I don't know, getting killed?" Raphael arched a brow, shifting his weight a bit.
Arthur smirked, "Of course I can do that, provided you don't commit suicide.." he said.
Raphael rolled his eyes, flaring his wings some and settling them back down. "Like I'd do that. So you're in? Any payment needed for your graciousness?" He said, a tad bit sarcastic.
(sorry, got a shower and then did some things)
"I don't really have need for cash, just a cure for boredom" he said, coming down fro. The tree with a light jump.
He blinked in slight surprise but shrugged. "Alright, then a trek across the continent should be a nice cure."
"My thoughts exactly" he said.
(Sorry for the short/infrequent replies, I'm on my phone and will be going to help with my sister's baseball soon)
"The thing is," He ran a hand through his white hair, wings curling around his shoulders some. "I don't exactly know where I'm going."
"Lost are we?" He asked, shaking his head slightly.
(Gonna have to do stuff as well, so I don't know how often I can reply)
Raphael scowled and crossed his arms. "I'll have you know that I was just dumped here with a vague mention of a temple of sorcerers."
(Same)
"Sounds about right" he said.
"Wait, what?" Raphael blinked in confusion. This strange person was just confusing in general.
