Natalie sat up with a start, her heart racing. She watched as someone came down the ladder and stayed where she was. She wanted to help, but she knew she was useless in this state. (Btw always feel free to hurt my characters lol)

"Take two more steps and I'll blow a hole in your head," Jack growled, flipping the safety off of the plasma pistol as the person turned around. And then….it wasn't a person anymore. It turned into a mass of skin-colored gelatin that launched itself at Jack.
(Likewise for mine, too)
"Jack!" Natalie tried to get up, but didn't get far before she collapsed again. "Hey!" Getting the creature's attention seemed to be her best bet. She found an old book on the floor and threw it at the creature.
Jack scrambled back to his feet and lunged at the mass just before it could reach Natalie, jamming the pistol as deep into the mass as he could and firing a blast of plasma straight through the body of it. It let loose yet another screech, tossing Jack off of its back and launching itself up the ladder at blinding speeds. Jack stayed on his back as the Jiorgling fled the bunker, taking deep breaths in and out and rubbing his chest.
"Y-You okay?" Natalie asked quietly, laying on her side as she watched Jack. She winced when she tried to move and eventually just decided to stay put for now.
"Yeah," he grunted, sitting up with a wince. "Just got the wind knocked out of me. You?"
"I don't think I've been injured any further than I already was… this one opened back up, though." She glanced down at the blood starting to soak through her white shirt.
Jack grunted as he stood, brushing his clothes off and rolling his head around his neck until he heard a crack.
"Need some help getting back up on the couch?"
"…Yeah, probably.." Natalie managed to push herself into a sitting position, holding one hand over her reopened wound.
(Bump)
He gently picked her up from under her armpits and set her down on the couch, frowning at the bloodstained shirt like it was a minor annoyance and not a life-threatening injury.
"I should probably sew that back up, huh?"
(My bad)
(Np)
"Yeah, probably." Natalie pulled off the bloody shirt so she could evaluate the wound (she's still wearing a bra don't worry lol).
He didn't even bat an eye as she took of the shirt, where a normal man would have blushed or looked away.
"You're lucky," he said, nodding to himself, "Only a couple of stitches actually popped. The other ones are good to go."
"Alright. Where do you want to fix it up?" Natalie looked up at Jack, seemingly not flustered or anything by being basically half naked.
"Right here's fine." He walked off into a different room and came back a few moments later with a thread and needle.
"I don't have any pain meds, sorry" he apologized as he settled down on the floor in front of the couch, facing her.
"No problem…" Natalie braced herself and hissed through her teeth in pain once Jack punctured her skin. She was breathing heavily by the time he finished, but seemed otherwise okay.
He quietly threw the needle and the rest of the string away, grabbing a clean shirt from a dresser near the bed and tossing it over to her.
"Might be a bit big, but it's better than nothing."
Natalie nodded and pulled the shirt on. As expected, it came just about to her knees, but as Jack had said, it was definitely better than nothing. "Um… thanks, by the way. For everything."
Jack just shrugged in response. "You needed help. It ain't your fault you were thrown into this shithole."
"You don't need to be modest. You coulda just left me there to die, but you dragged my sorry ass here instead." Natalie rolled up the bottom of the shirt a bit so it wouldn't be so long. "I just want to thank you for that, yeah?"
He shrugged in response. "Your welcome, I guess. It wasn't that hard."
Natalie nodded and lay down, hugging her stomach to try and ease some of the pain so she could sleep. She figured it wouldn't be too bad since she didn't often have pain meds for period cramps in her ship either, so she was used to it. That didn't make it much easier to do, though.
"Try and lay on your side," he said helpfully. "That'll ease up the pressure on the gash."
