He shook his head. "Like I said, everything in here's made specifically for me." He shrugged apologetically before gesturing to the loveseat. "You can sit if you'd like."

@Fraust

"Alright…" Natalie made her way over to the couch and sat down, laying the crutches in the ground. Considering this place was tailored to a tall person like Jack, she felt very small, and it made her vaguely anxious. The room just felt very large.

"Anything else I can get you?" he asked from the kitchen as he began to do the dishes. The gun still rested ominously next to him, and it was easy to tell that he was ready to grab it at any moment.

@Fraust

"No, I'm alright… what're you so paranoid about? It's pretty obvious I couldn't hurt you if I wanted to." Natalie ran her fingers through her hair to smooth it out. Despite the crash, it actually still looked quite nice.

"I haven't checked you for weapons. For all I know, you have a gun in your waistband and are just waiting for the right moment to kill me." He looked over his shoulder. "Trust get's you killed out here."

@Fraust

"Feel free to check me. Any weapons I own were probably destroyed in the crash, and I'm not a murderer either." Natalie kept playing with her hair until she seemed content with it.

"After I'm done with the dishes," he said, turning back to scrubbing the small dish with the abrasive side of the sponge. After a few more minutes, we walked over to her, leaving his gun on the counter.
"Consider that a gesture of good faith," he said, slowly patting her down.
No, he wasn't copping a feel. It was clear he was just trying his best to not cause her any more pain than what she was already in.

@Fraust

"See? I'm clean. Now you can relax." Natalie took off her jacket and lay it beside her once Jack had checked it for weapons. "Not to mention, I'm still not a murderer anyways, so even if I was armed, you would have nothing to worry about."

Deleted user

"I trust people about as far as I can throw them," he said simply, then returned to the kitchen. "It's nothing personal. It's just how I'm made."

@Fraust

"Well, I'll take a wild guess you could throw me pretty far anyhow. I don't weigh much, although I'm sure you're aware of that already." Natalie lay her head back on the couch.

Deleted user

"Yes. Now, how the hell did you crash, anyways?" he asked, walking back into the living room as he dried his hands off on an old rag.

@Fraust

"My brakes jammed and the engine stopped working for a minute. By the time the engine started up again I was already hurtling towards this place at high speed. Couldn't stop because of the brakes, and there was no time to pull up." Natalie stared at the ceiling.

Deleted user

"Tough luck," he admitted, tossing the rag over into the corner of the room. "Even worse that you landed in the worst possible spot you could've."

@Fraust

"Why's that? I've seen shittier places." Natalie glanced around the room and fidgeted with her hands, doing her best to ignore her pain.

"Your smack dab in the middle of a Jiorg breeding ground," he said grimly. "And their fucking babies are more terrifying than the adults are."

@Fraust

"Well, you've got this bunker thing. I'm sure we'll be fine." Natalie yawned and rubbed her sore shoulder.

Deleted user

"Thoughts like that get you killed," he said, shaking his head. "They get everywhere. No where is truly safe."

@Fraust

"Alright, alright… don't get your panties in a twist, I get it. No one is safe ever and I'm an idiot for thinking so." Natalie replied with a hint of sarcasm.

Deleted user

"Exactly. You're catching on quick." He walked into the kitchen and picked up the pistol from the counter to return it to its holster.

@Fraust

Natalie rolled her eyes and lay back down, sighing softly. "How long do you think I'll be stuck here?"

Deleted user

"Well, I'm getting picked up in about a week to get off of this shithole. If you stay alive for that long, I imagine you could come with," he said with a shrug.

@Fraust

"Alright… I suppose I might as well, considering I can't repair my ship." Natalie started fidgeting with her hair again.

Deleted user

"Sounds like a plan." He let the room fall into an awkward silence, repressing the involuntary urge to stream something out just hear a noise.

@Fraust

Natalie listened to the faint noises from outside. The silence was far more comfortable than awkward for her, and it helped her to relax a bit.

The sound of an ear-piercing shriek shattered the thin layer of silence like a brick through a window, sending Jack into overdrive. Immediately he pulled out the pistol and aimed at the ladder as the sound of clinking metal slowly became louder and louder. Like someone was coming down the ladder.
