«Intro»

claps dramatically slowly

So I’m not dead. Yet.
I know, what a surprise, right?

I’ve been gone for… checks calendar…holy fuck, I’ve been gone for like five months!

Anyways—throws calendar out—that’s not important. What is important is what I’ve written below. Have a look.

«Premise»

Year 21XX.

It has been thirteen years since the ‘newest’ government party had taken control of our country. The technological revolution has just passed by and professional programmers emerged as a more wealthy occupation than any other job without any competition. Robots of all forms can be found on every street, at every corner, everywhere.

However, because of this event held by the government, many people have lost their jobs. People were protesting against robots, saying that jobs require manpower, not robot power. You are among these people.

Luckily for you, you were a prodigy. You learnt how to program things since five but wasn’t able to get a job everywhere because you were never even any opportunities. Fortunately, you decided on something else. You decided that you will use these skills you’ve learnt to hack into the government systems, to expose the government of all their wrong doings, to start a true rebellion and overthrow the government that has done nothing to help its majority once and for all!

…except, it wasn’t that easy.

The capital city you are in is under 24/7 surveillance. Incognito mode was disabled decades ago and VPN hacking was now discoverable with the right technology. If you even attempt to do something risky, they will find you. ‘They’ being the government’s own programmers and surveillance group, known simply as ‘Doves’.

Will the rebellion be successful?

Will you be the person of change the country needed?

Will you bloom as a savior amongst the people trashed and discarded?

…that’s all on you.

«“Rules”»

Honestly— there are none. Except just don’t be an asshole. Please? I already know enough of those.
Your character can be an asshole, that’s fine! We all love our aggressive and violent babies. But please do try to cooperate with me as I will try to cooperate with you to the best of my limited capabilities.

«Character»

You will be playing as a Hacker and the leader of the Rebellion, gaining trust and allies along the way.

I will be playing mainly as a ‘Doves’ officer, but I will also play…

  • The government body
  • The police
  • The people of the city
  • Etc.

«End Notes…»

If you require a Character Template, tell me. I’m personally not a fan of those but if you do want one, I’ll make one up for you.

THIS WILL NOT BE FAMILY FRIENDLY.
QUICK WARNINGS OF… BLOOD, GORE, MENTIONS OF SEX, GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION, WAR, VIOLENCE, DRUGS, MURDER, AND SO ON…
So no youngsters, okay dearies? <3

Also, maybe we can slip some fluff between characters into this just as a refreshment… just suggesting here

This is a ‘one on one’ roleplay so FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE!

I won’t be online all the time, I have other things to focus on but I will try to be here (mostly) daily.

Anyways, that is it… for now.

I will be waiting in the darkness for your answer to my call.

With love, care, and a rusty, bloody knife,
-Altrince

(Well greetings there Jace. I’ve seen you around but we’ve never really talked, a pleasure to meet ya. Anyways, because my insanity is overwhelming, I’m ready to start right away BUT… do you require a character template or shall we just go on with this? and before anything else, just for you, I’ll be using a male character)

(Roger that.)

It was during spring of a new year. Birds were chirping outside cheap apartment windows stained with black from dust and tar. People were enjoying their mornings with a warm cup of robotically made coffee from the local cafe and good exhalation of cigarette smoke.

It wasn’t until around 9 did the day start going downhill. The central tower of the town buzzed loudly, signaling that an important announcement was going to be made.

”Dear valued citizens, please listen up. During the past decade and more, we have been working to improve our beloved town into an advanced city and we have done so, boosting our economy by 14% in the last five years. However, I understand that not everyone is happy with this decision which was why protests, such as the ones that have happened just days ago, have been held. As the head of the country, I have decided to set up a complimentary event for those suffering from this change. Those who believe that they could not adapt to this change are all invited to join us in this event. Further details of said event will be in our official website. Thank you… for your attention.”

Instinctively, after hearing what had been said, some rushed to filled in the form to confirm their place in the events, not knowing what it really was as those who knew refused to elaborate further as to what the details of the events were as it was a risk in itself.

As for the people in charge of the website domain, the ‘Doves’, they were all working separately around the country, surveilling their assigned areas and making sure that everything was working the way they should. Especially the website itself that held many valuable information. Among the many Doves working, twenty-one-year-old Cairo Faltur was regarded as an important Doves member despite his young age. He had a keen eye when it came to finding hacked information and even more so when it came to protecting files from being hacked. However… Cairo did oversleep sometimes. One of those times being that exact morning, leaving the website prone to online intruders, at least for a few minutes.

@CaseyJ group

The announcement initially surprised Casey but hearing the end of it, the part about the website he decided to check it out, carefully getting onto the website with one computer, he opened another to view the programing of it. He was able to do this after he broke the computer in a way that all it showed was the coding. The mainframe. The work behind a simple looking website. It had took him awhile to figure out how to disconnect it to the interweb, without it being useless. It was virtually untraceable, but virtually useless. He knew what the coding was supposed to look like if it was totally secure, but while he watched the code flow over the screen he saw a flaw. One of the millions of numbers was off. He went to the website and started doing his hacking. He used many different redirectors until he felt secure enough to continue, which only took moments. He had a dangerous level of curiosity and a rebellious attitude. He hacked into and downloaded as many small classified documents to a USB as he could. Carefully watching the code out of the corner of his eye to see if anything changed.

@CasiCasino group

It wasn’t too long after then that Cairo woke up. The first thing he did in the morning was checking the website for things that potentially went wrong, little details about the structure of the website. However, at that certain point, he was more concerned about the typo the others made rather than what actually went wrong. Accessing the source files to change the certain typo from ‘catroom’ to ‘chatroom’, he realized that the output speed of the files was much lower than what it should be, suggesting that they were being downloaded from somewhere. He tried to trace down the computer that was being used to download the information, realizing quickly that redirectors were screwing with him again.
Instead of trying further, he decided to take a different approach. While making sure that the downloader, whoever they were, were still doing their thing, Cairo had changing the codes of the files they were downloading so that the ‘valuable documents’ the other person was receiving from that point on all became government advertisement posters.
He didn’t stop there, however, as there was a certain space in the code that allowed him to type anything down without it actually messing up the whole coding. This would show up in the hacker’s computer as well, he just didn’t know where. He sighed loudly to himself as he typed something down in that blank space.
”I see what you’re doing there, genius. Nice try.”

@CaseyJ group

Casey though everything was going fine, until the files coding started to change, he quickly unplugged the usb, letting the files still download onto his computer, he saw the message pop up on his screen and grinned to himself. He knew exactly how it was done and simply reversed it, using the same method the other person had obviously used. He didn't even have to check to know it was one of those 'Doves'. He hoped that he had managed to get at least on file that didn't get messed up. He typed into the blank space,
"oh, you think I am a genius, well thanks for the compliment"
After all, he couldn't help himself. He ran his system through more routers. Just to fuck with the person. He had his phone trying, and failing, to track down his computer. So he knew there was no way anyone would spend the time to find him. After all, each computer in his home had its own Ipn and so to find out which one, and most people not having nearly as many as he did, would simply cause most people to give up trying.

@CasiCasino group

Seeing that his message had been deleted and replaced with a message from the hacker themself, Cairo had mentally rolled his eyes and started coding back. Like all ‘Doves’ members, Cairo’s computer address was linked to the government headquarters. Finding his address was going to be a hard time for anyone and considering that he was in an apartment that seemed rundown at best, not many people suspected a ‘Dove’ being in said building.
After he had successfully deleted the words the hacker had typed down, he typed something back.
”A bit cocky, aren’t we? Fortunately for you, I’m not looking for trouble. Now would you kindly stop trying to take out the files so I can secure the web board?”
He didn’t know why he was being polite about this but it seemed to be fit. At the same time, he had encoded the domain of the blank space to another laptop he had in place beside his main. The code, when activated with the action of typing, would slowly but surely show the internet connection and or the hotspot the typer was using. This wasn’t going to be sent to the government however. Cairo knew for a fact that this wasn’t something he should inform the government as it could cause more troubles than it could solve if handled poorly. As for now, he just thought it would be nice to know where the hell this person was.

@CaseyJ group

Casey smirked and stopped downloading the files abruptly, deleting anything that he had managed to get on his computer, he did however still have the usb that had at least one file successfully downloaded, he Oldboy hoped he had saved it in time for it tiny to be messed up from the ‘dove’. He paused for a moment, checking the coding again, before responding.
”Well it has been fun, but for you to by holding at least part of a conversation with me, makes me assume you are attempting to find my location. Good luck with that though”
Casey lived in a heavily populated area, with lots of computers around him. And lots of different WiFi and hotspots. His connection changed every five minutes or so, granted each time it caused a buffer, but as each person around him had their own WiFi or hotspot he could easily hack into, it was quite easy for him to use them all. He went back to watching the coding, waiting to see if the other person was skilled enough to actually find him.

@CasiCasino group

After securing what was the main coding of the website, Cairo had turned his attention to the other screen to see that it had revealed more than one internet connection. At least now he knew the general area of where this person was, it was only a matter of being specific with it. He took some time trying to understand the layout of the area the other person was in before he turned to type something on the blank space.
”I can see why you’re wishing me luck. If anything, I’ve decrease the range of searching down to a fifty meter radius. If you get a member of the authority at your door in a bit, don’t be surprised.”
He did type that, but he wasn’t going to say a word about the locations’ method to the other members of the government. The ‘authority’ he mentioned? That was probably going to be himself who would show up.

@CaseyJ group

Casey smirked and typed back.
"oh but how would they know they had the right person? It's not like I have all my stuff just sitting around, and if they were to ask, I could just lie, you have no idea what I look like."
Which was a lie, his whole place was a mess with random computer parts and cords everywhere, and if that wasn't suspicious then he didn't know what was. He decided to download the advertisement things just out of boredom. After all, if he could find a flaw in those he could use it against them. He took off his glasses and set them aside as he went back to watching the coding. He was enjoying this interaction, after all the 'Dove' had just admitted to trying to find his location, he had no faith that the person could find him, so he was not worried.

@CasiCasino group

Cairo was getting mixed feelings about this person as he wasn’t sure if the person was being brutally honest or just trying to make fun of him. Whatever the case, he knew that someone who was able to mask their location like this and to do all the things this person had done had to have had a room that looked like an abandoned lab reject, an abandoned subway station, or something in between. So, as he thought the other person would play along, he typed…
”Wanna bet on that, genius?”

@CaseyJ group

Casey was feeling a bit nervous, but he was confident in his work, a bit overly so in fact.
"depends on what we would be betting."
He glanced around his room, then remembering he had taken his glasses off, he put them on and looked around. The room he was in, his back room, had computers everywhere, tools scattered on the desks. The only clean spot was the desk he was sitting aat, which he kept clean for the reason of, well thats where he worked. The only room in the house that was clean was his bedroom, he has trouble sleeping in messy places, which is why he never bothered to clean his work room, so he wouldn't fall asleep while working, or doing something not entirely legal.

@CasiCasino group

”What do you think you can lose? If in an hour, I cannot locate you, I will personally allow you to enter the deepest of the codes without an authorized permission for three days. Meaning that you will have access to all the information you want about us for a whole seventy two hours. But if I do find you in the next sixty minutes, what will I get?”
Cairo typed down. While he was doing so, he was calculating something in his brain, something to do with internet speed and radius of efficiency. As the person was switching between a number of hotspots and internet connections, as long as he was able to pinpoint where those signals were coming from, he could plot a picture on a map as to where the person could be. He eventually narrowed it down to three buildings, all within the same area. He turned to the pistol he had beside his laptop, already reloading the firearm and setting it down back where it was. He was one of the only ‘Doves’ officers who was allowed to wield firearms after all. The other got batons and other simple melee ‘weapons’.

@CaseyJ group

Casey started to worry, but still thought highly of his work.
"I could work with that, but my only wonder is, what is it that you want? If you want something I can manage then I will take that bet."
He started running his system through different hotspots and such as fast as it could. He stood up and went to his fridge and got out a soda. He opened it taking a drink as he walked back to his computer, putting his glasses on top of his head and watching the screen.

@CasiCasino group

It took the ‘Dove’ a couple of worth it minutes to think of something he wanted. Money wasn’t something he needed, let alone wanted, nor was something too physical that he probably end up losing. He decided to go with something a bit more serious and useful to him.
”If I do find you, we’re going to have a talk. And you had better speak. Do we have a deal?”

@CaseyJ group

Casey thought to himself before answering,
"Fine, but the clock is ticking."
He set a timer, even if the 'Dove' could find him, they would still have to travel to his home, which could take a while, depending on where they were. He was counting on this.

@CasiCasino group

”Deal.”

With that simple reply, Cairo smiled to himself and started calculating the time that he needed to take to travel to the area where this person was. Because of the commotion and traffic outside, traveling by car was out of the picture. He couldn’t have known where all the protests were held and so he didn’t want to risk it. At the end, he decided to take the underground subway.

He exited his apartment room soon after, taking his pistol alongside a few other things, one of which being his ‘Doves’ officer badge. He skipped the line at the subway, just because he had the authority to. Seven stops and twenty one minutes later, Cairo was at a bit of a lost when he reached the half hour mark. He cursed softly to himself when he realized how almost every building in the area seemed almost identical to one another. He spent a good amount of time asking his ‘Doves’ colleagues about the area as to eliminate some of the buildings. In the end, only one house remained. He approached the house, knowing there was only five minutes left. He couldn’t wait longer and so, he knocked on the door three times without saying anything as to not alarm the person inside.

@CaseyJ group

Casey held his timer in one hand waiting, and when he heard a knock on his door he felt a bit worried. He opened his door and looked over the person who had knocked. "must have used some of your authority to get here quicker, you almost lost." He said more so to himself. He was blocking the view of inside his house, knowing good and well it was a mess of computer guts, and some not so legal devices. He stopped the timer, and showed it to the person. He pulled out his phone and started typing into it, using the opportunity of the person who was stopping him not being there to stop him to try to at least view the documents he had attempted to download. He honestly didn't care that that he had been found. he was so close to getting away it didn't bother him.

@CasiCasino group

Cairo watched as the other person started typing. He was confused for one but he eventually sighed and pulled out the pistol he had in his messenger bag along with his bag. “Doves Officer, Cairo Faltur. I would like to speak to you,” he said simply as he pressured the muzzle of the pistol up the other person’s chin. “I think you and I have a lot to talk about,” he grinned, knowing that he won by just a margin. “Everything we discuss will not be recorded, nor will it be passed on to the government, but will be stored in my brain and personal notes. Do I make myself clear?” He spoke in an almost demanding tone, gesturing for the other person to walk back inside to allow himself in too.

@CaseyJ group

Casey rolled his eyes and held up one finger, "can you let me finish? I need to re-route my system back to undo what I did to fuck with you" He said plainly before abruptly turning around and walking inside. He walked to his work room and sat down at the desk, "your gun doesn't scare me. After all, if you shoot me, I won't talk" he said plainly turning off his computers, first the one that showed just the code, then the one that had the site. He picked up the usb and threw it into a box of them, he had a number on each and just happened to remember the number on that one, '394'.

@CasiCasino group

The officer stood there in surprise for a moment before he sighed and walked after the other man, closing and locking the door on his way in. He watched as the other man was turning off his devices, somewhat appreciating him that he had a decent setup. Yes, the loose cords in some places did throw him off but for the most part, it was okay.
“You’ve got some talent working through all of that with just this,” he mentioned, looking around the working space the man had. “I’m impressed,”

@CaseyJ group

Casey smirked, "I do have quite some talent" He paused for a moment, "but thanks. I set everything up myself…sorry about the mess, those cords are a work in progress." He said not wanting to tell about his most recent project, "My name is Casey. Since you didn't ask, Cario, was it? You should know its polite to know someones name before entering their house". He said picking up a tablet and tapping the screen a few times. He set it face down so that the 'dove' couldn't see what he was doing.

@CasiCasino group

Cairo nodded before he glanced over at what Casey was doing. He narrowed his eyes at the tablet but had decided to keep quiet rather than ask.
“Alright, Casey, when you’re done with your little resetting routine, we’re having a long talk about your purpose of hacking into the server. I need to know what your intentions are because not everyone is brave enough to hack into the server… and not everyone is lucky enough to have me as the ‘Dove’ who found them.” He stated before he kept his weapon and badge back where they were before.
