Victor stirred faintly, rolling onto his side, his hand hanging off of the bed. Dirty clothes were strewn on the floor, along with all sorts of science books, many on computers and coding and AI. A photo frame sat on the bedside nightstand, with an image of his mother, and another held a picture of another young man, blond and smiling. A picture of a young woman, waving to the camera, was tacked on the wall, along with a picture of his entire family.

(Honestly me neither I’m just spouting bullshit at this point.)

“Good morning, creator. Are you ready to ‘face the day’ as is the ‘layman’s term’.” it asked, making a small chirping noise alongside it’s greeting.

(lmao)

Victor jumped, a small squawk leaving his mouth as he tumbled from the bed, landing on the floor with a dull "thump". He rubbed his eyes, blinking sleepily at the little AI. "Fuck–" he broke off with a faint groan, sitting up. "Mmph. Good morning."

“Did my use of common colloquialisms disturb you?” it asked, concerned. “I have been studying humans and their vocabulary. It is quite… fascinating.” the AI rolled over to Victor.

Victor picked it up gently. "No, I was asleep and you awoke me. I wasn't expecting it." He replied, blinking tiredly.

“I see. I will do my best not to startle you in the future.” it said, turning it’s camera to face the man. “You should attain sustenance. I have several recipes in mind based on your height, weight, and vital signs.”

He blinked mutely at the little AI for a long moment. "I…what? I was just going to do coffee and toast." he said slowly, cocking his head and unsure what to say.

“You appear to have an iron deficiency.” the AI explained. “And you look like you haven’t been eating properly at all, for that matter. You are young and foolish. It is to be expected, from what I have learned of humanity.”

"An…iron deficiency?" he asked, raking a hand through his hair and staring at it. "I…" He cocked his head. "I'm not foolish." he said. "I'm the first man to create a working AI; I'm not foolish."

“I suggest eating some red meat, such as bacon or beef-based sausages. Or, if you’re not keen on breakfast foods, why not a steak?” it suggested.

On Victor’s comment on foolishness, it decided to not say anything. Humans were all foolish to some degree, in it’s mind.

He blinked. "I can't afford that much on a student's paycheck." he said, standing up with a faint grunt. "Most of it goes to books, anyways." he shook his head, setting the AI down again.

“That…. makes sense,” the AI trailed off. It didn’t think of that. How could it have not factored that in? It was obvious!

Victor got changed, not really caring that the AI was still in the room. It was just a machine, anyways, why would it care if he was fully clothed or not?

The AI ignored Victor, instead deciding to explore the room and learn about it’s surroundings. The room was small, messy, and crowded, with books and papers and dirty clothes lying all around the area. It was difficult to navigate, but not impossible.

Victor finished changing, running a comb through his hair in a slapdash version of actually brushing it. "Come on. I'll go make breakfast." he stepped out of the room, heading for the kitchen.

The AI followed its creator, watching him carefully. Studying how he acted, everything he did to better understand the man himself.

Victor hummed faintly as he started up the coffeepot and got the toaster and bread out, starting it up as well, and then waited for it all to be done.
