“What time is it?” Maddox asked, a slightly mocking lilt to his voice. The others glanced at him with the smirks reserved for their friends when they know they’re being annoying.

"Er… 6:47, why?" Felix replied. He smiled at them then looked at the floor. He felt like he needed to do something, but he had finished everything for the day.

Charlie frowned. “Dinner’s officially over then,” he announced. “We should all head to our respective activities or whatever. So see you all later, I guess.”

"Um, okay. Goodbye everyone, and if you need anything, you can definitely ask me." Felix gave them one last smile leaving right after. He decided to go to his room since he knew there was nothing else to work on.

Later that night, everyone was supposed to be asleep. The staff could wander freely if they so chose, but the kids had a strict curfew. It wasn’t that Alice was trying to avoid it, but that’s hard when one has hallucinations in the middle of the night.

She glanced around as she walked down the hall, seeing it as a bright forest with unique creatures flying and crawling around. “Hello?” she called softly. “Is there anyone here?”

Felix had to get something that he had forgotten in the art therapy room so he was walking down the dimly lit halls, looking for the room. He crossed into a hall and saw the outline of a girl. He approached her and got in front of her. "…Alice? Are you okay?"

“The Queen of Hearts wants to behead me!” she cried. “The Knave of Hearts is out to get me too. I don’t know what to do!” She came towards him, her hair tumbling over her shoulders and her pale blue nightgown making her look almost like an apparition.
