[Oh, well how was the rest of your day?]

Stella busily typed on her phone

Her mother shook her head. "Well, it was better before you put up all these black posters."
Laura looked up. "Mom, they're bands I like."
"Sorry, I just liked your room the way it was before…" She stopped talking realizing what she was going to say.
Laura looked away and tried to stop the tears welling up in her eyes. Her vision was a bit blurry as she texted back.

[It was good]

Deleted user

[Thats fantastic.]

Stella sent the message then paused and thought for a minute, then she started typing again,

[Do you want to grab a coffee or something with me tomorrow?]

Deleted user

[That would be great!]

Laura sent the message and looked up at her mom. "Is there something you wanted?"
"Just wanted to see where you were," she sighed and headed back for the door.

Stella smiled and continued typing,

[Awesome! What time would you like to do it at?]

Deleted user

(Oof, sorry! I'll fix it later, gtg.)

[When works for you?]

"Oh, and," her mother paused before leaving. "Your father is on his way home."
The statement sent shivers down Laura's spine, and her heart began to race. "Okay," she whispered. The screeching of tires confirmed her worst fears. A second later, her phone buzzed with a text, but it wasn't from Stella.

[Whre r u u little slut]

She started to shake. "I-I think h-he's already home…"

Deleted user

[Maybe noon?]

Stella finished replying then decided she should probably take a shower and clean a little bit

[I have to go, but I’ll talk to you later]

(Okay bye)

Deleted user

Her fingers were shaky as she replied to Stella.

[Noon is fine. Bye]

The door slammed below her. "Where are you, you little slut?" a gravelly voice demanded. Laura closed her eyes and let out a slow exhale.

(Okay, don't have to go quite yet ;) Timeskip to the next day?)

Deleted user

(Sure)

Stella got up the following morning at 9:00. She yawned and sat up then got out of bed. She proceeded to grab her phone and head downstairs to eat some breakfast.

[Good morning.]

Laura had hardly gotten any sleep, but she was used to it by now. Her phone buzzed on her nightstand, and originally she flinched away from it. Her eyes read the name Stella. She struggled to remember who Stella was. Wait, was it that hot girl from yesterday? She picked up the phone to unlock it and scrolled through their text history. Yes, it must be. I forgot I have to meet her today. Her room was even more a mess then it was last night, which clothes strewn about and the curtains hampering the majority of daylight. Nearly every part of her body hurt, and her fingers trembled a bit as she typed a brief response.

[Morning. How are you?]

Deleted user

Stella smiled as she fixed herself some toast and quickly texted Laura back,

[Good! How about you? Did you sleep well?]

Deleted user

[I didn't sleep that much. I wasn't that tired.]

She winced as she sent the message. Well… it's partially the truth.

Deleted user

[Yeah, I'm fine. Just wasn't tired.]

She bit her lip and listened to see if her father was still awake.

Deleted user

[Alright, if you’re sure. Ready for coffee later?].

Stella was still concerned but she thought nothing of it.

Deleted user

[Sure. Maybe we could do it a little earlier?]

She quietly moved around her room to put on shorts, a black tank top with spaghetti straps, the same filmy hoodie as yesterday, and Converse. She also made sure to grab her notebook.

Deleted user

[Yeah! Meet me at the park?]

Stella got dressed and headed outside

Deleted user

[Ok]

Laura slid her phone into her pocket and crept down the stairs. Her father was passed out on the couch, as she predicted. She opened the screen door and closed it quietly before running down their driveway and down the street. She'd have to run for a bit to get to the park from her house, but it wasn't anything she hadn't done before.

Stella sat on the bench where they had first met and waited

Laura slowed as she approached the park and wiped a thin layer of sweat off her forehead so it didn't look like she'd been exerting herself too much. She entered the park and saw Stella sitting where she had been yesterday. She smiled shyly and walked over. "Hi." There were heavy bags under her eyes and a faint bruise was visible on her upper leg that her shorts didn't cover.

Stella looked up with a smile then gasped and got up, “L-Laura! Are you okay?”

Deleted user

She looked confused for a second, then followed Stella's gaze to the bruise. "Shit," she mumbled to herself. "I'm fine, I, uh, just fell out of bed this morning."

Deleted user

Stella didn’t look convinced, “Are you sure?”
