"You're definitely not helpless…" said Firiko.
"You're definitely not helpless…" said Firiko.
Marcus shrugged, pulling his legs out straight in front of him. One of his legs was crooked, not only curving outwards too much but also with a foot that was far too twisted to look like it worked. “I was born with a twisted femur. I’m rather helpless.”
"That doesn't make you helpless…" said Firiko, "Just makes you stronger for overcoming…"
Marcus shrugged, staring st his leg with a deep sadness. “My father abuses me because I am crippled from birth.”
Firiko sighed, "At least he knew you existed.."
Marcus looked at the other curiously. “Does your father not know you exist?”
"He didn't" said Firiko, "My mom thought I had been killed shortly after birth, when really I had been kidnapped by Primal spirits…"
"So they took you…" Marcus frowned. "So they don't know you're alive…"
"They know I'm alive… my twin siblings realized I existed a couple of years ago… but before that I didn't know I even had family…" he explained.
"Are they kind?" Asked the human, his voice shaky. His mother had been kind. But his brother and his father did not see that in him. To them, he was the reason their mother died. Because Marcus needed pain meds and meds to help his twitchy nerves in his leg, their mother couldn't afford to go through chemotherapy. It was his fault she died…
Firiko smiled, "They're the best people you could ever ask for… and they come from so many places that it doesn't matter how different I am from the rest.."
"I'd love to meet them someday." He said with a small smile.
"Knowing them, you probably won't be able to avoid it.." said Firiko.
"Good. They sound wonderful. As for my family, you will never meet them and I hope you never meet them." He knew of no relatives. All had left or died or disowned the family when his father became an alcoholic. They avoided the Teague family like the black plague.
"If they hurt you or come after you I can almost guarantee they won't get near you again.." he said softly.
Marcus smiled softly, hugging Firiko tightly. "Thank you. I hope it never comes to that…" But he knew it would. His father visited for drinking money and stress relief - which was composed of beating Marcus senseless - every other week.
Firiko nodded, hugging him tightly.
Marcus pulled the other closer and buried his face in Firiko's neck. He sighed softly, breathing in the scent of his soulmate. He needed this healing, this love. He felt awful today, and was hiding it really well.
Firiko tightened his grip out of instinct, his good wing wrapping aroung them both.
Marcus hummed softly, placing a gentle kiss to his neck. “Thank you… I don’t think you know how much I needed you in my life.”
Firiko smiled, cuddling him.
Marcus hummed happily. “I really am falling for you.”
"Me too…" he hummed.
"I'm happy to hear that… how was breakfast?" He asked sweetly.
"Breakfast was great" said Firiko happily.
