I think, also fam I'm not translating everything to French
Desi continued going off. "YES MY DAISES. DAISES. D-A-I-S-E-S. BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS THAT YOUR FIRE BURNED AND I-" she suddenly collapsed onto P.J.
"Wow elle s'est réellement évanouie," Maverick murmured.
P.J's eyes widened in surprise as she grabbed Desi, not wanting her to fall. Sherry glanced over at her, and then kept walking.
"Um…put her on the ship, I guess. I'll make sure Sherry doesn't get themselves into too much trouble here." Quill shrugged and ran after sherry just as she took out her shoulder gun.
P.J glanced down at Desi, then at Maverick. "I guess I'll put her on the ship, then."
Adira Demur, the highest ranking female in the national police department for France, was looking over a file. It was most peculiar - see, it's not everyday that a shaceship crashes into the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, one of the most beautiful parks in Paris. Oh she was gonna whip some donkeys today, she decided, heading straight toward the wildfire which had sprung up destroying the nearby homes.
The Late Arrival may have been made out of (undeniably rusting) metal on the outside, but inside? The entire ship was mostly made of wood and old carpet fabric.
P.J was the only one with magic in the entire group. Sherry was good with guns and wine, Quill was good with machines. P.J had magic - light and dark, to be specific. Heliokenisis and umbrakinesis gave her many abilities rather than just changing the lighting - taking shadow form, teleporting, becoming invisible, making physical blasts, creating illusions, and much more.
Lifting Desi onto the ship, she put her in a little foyer bench (that may have been stolen from Times Square) and dimmed the lights just enough that it was comfortable. Switching to the form of a shadow, she closed the airlock behind them - Sherry always said it made it look like it was fancy and closing by itself.
Maverick tried and failed to keep his composure when P.J literally transformed into a shadow. He had always prided himself on his I-am-a-robot face but this? Magic? He was in desperate need of a drink.
Desi, meanwhile, was shivering on her little bench, her face still red from crying. Little quivering whimpers for flowers still escaped her form. It was really quite a sad, pathetic situation - especially compared to the earlier screaming.
Adira's sharp blue eyes immediately spotted, The Late Arrival. Oh they were gonna pay.
Quill ran after Sherry as they stumbled through the streets, her shoulder gun strapped to - well, her shoulder. He wasn't sure where they were going, but he knew it would be fun.
P.J sat her shadow self down on a bench next to her, crossing her shadow legs and observing Desi. "You alright now?" She asked.
Desi sniffled. Seemingly exhausted, she draped her head on P.J's shadow.
Adira marked the three culprits. One, with burgundy skin and blue lines on his face; that would be the easiest to keep track of because of the unique appearance. She watched him race through the streets, followed by another figure who she couldn't quite make out. She was disguised in civilian attire, a gun hidden within her jacket, a radio camouflaged into her outfit. Quickly she reported their positions back to the department.
P.J sighed to herself and switched back to a solid form, dialing a number in her phone - Quill's.
"Where are you? We should probably just get the wine Sherry wants and leave," She spoke into the phone.
Quill picked up his ringing phone and sighed at the name. He picked up, making sure to keep an eye on Sherry. He rolled his eyes at her question. "I'm on Indila Roundabout now," He answered, catching up to Sherry. "We're heading to the winery, and then maybe you can pick us up?" He asked, referring to her teleportation.
Meanwhile, Sherry was walking straight through a roundabout towards the winery. They were getting less drunk as they went on, but no less desperate for the world-renowned brand.
Adira was struck with an idea. The man with burgundy skin was obviously drunk and heading directly toward the winery. Like, so directly he had the aUdAciTy to go straight through a roundabout and in front of moving cars. Ok, ok, Adira thought. She ordered to the police station; "When two males enter that wine shop," she directed a camera to the area, "get a car in front of the entrance. There's only one exit, so we'll interrogate them there. At the same time, I'm heading back to the heart of the catastrophe to examine the spaceship and other culprits."
A second of static, then, "Alright."
hecc
"Yeah, yeah. I can do that. Call me again when you have it." P.J told him, hanging up and sighing. She had to get Desi off the ship now before they lifted off, or else she'd be a stowaway with them.
Standing and holding Desi carefully, she was just about to open the airlock doors when her phone rang again.
"P.J? We need you to pick us up. Now." Quill spoke into the phone, referring to her teleportation. "We got a couple bottles of the wine, and now there's police out front." It was true. They had just gotten inside and snagged some of the wine Sherry wanted, and now there were police blocking the only front entrance.
Sherry mumbled to themself, cracking open one of the bottles already. Yes, they were aware there were police out front, but so what? The Late Arrival and P.J would come and pick them up, and then off they would go.
(Remeber that Desi has a deep-rooted fear of isolation)
Before P.J could do anything, Desi awoke. "No! Don't leave me- I can't!" she burst into tears. "First my sister, then my flowers, and now you, too." Desi shook uncontrollably.
Awkwardly shuffling along, Maverick stood at the side of the spaceship. Then, a thought flickered across his mind. Addressing P.J, he said, "You can't leave her with me. The police are going to assume I'm with y'all - I'm at the center of the scene. I have to go, I'll miss ya," he added, shooting a flirty smirk at P.J.
But before he could leave the ship, a girl with blue irises and dark hair blocked the entrance. Adira's eyes flashed as she witnessed the setting. "Put your hands up."
P.J raised her eyebrows at the woman, opening the airlock, shoving Maverick out with her foot, and resting her palm on the side of the ship. “Yeah, I’m not really in the mood. I have some friends to rescue.” With that, she teleported the entire ship - Desi and all- to the open field behind the winery. Calling Quillon, she opened the airlock again.
“Quill, outside, now. Bring Sherry, I’m out of energy.” P.J panted into the phone. “What? Why?” He asked, grabbing Sherry and making a go for the back door anyway. “Because I just teleported the entire ship, get a move on!”
Sherry didn’t know why he was being pulled, he just went along with it.
Adira swapped her normal vocabulary to a string of rainbows.
Maverick wondered to himself when the f*ck a pot of gold would appear because those colorful words were not ending anytime soon. But when in doubt, flirt like nobody's watching, so… "You know, under normal circumstances, I'd be upset, but now I'm alone with you and-" (it's so freaking weird to make your own characters flirt with your own characters)
Ok maybe flirting wasn't always the best option. Yeah, considering that Adira now had a gun pointed at his crotch, there was definitely a better idea.
Completely ignoring him, Adira radioed again. "One of the culprits is female, blonde hair, gray eyes, smaller side, and she can freaking TELEPORT. Also, make sure those males do not, I repeat, do NOT, leave that shop."
Finally facing Maverick, she added, "You're coming with me. I hope you can run faster than that ego can expand."
P.J cursed under her breath, whispering to herself as she opened the airlock. “Come on, come on…”
Quillon and Sherry, together kicked down the back door and made a mad dash towards the airlock.
(they kicked a hole in the wall instead my bad)
Maverick arrived at the scene, side by side with Adira. She quickly took in the debris around the shop before spotting the two- erm. She couldn't even tell who was drunk as they stumbled toward the ship. Aiming once, a shot zinged through the air before hitting the burgundy man right in the calf. He fell. Never aim to kill.
"You missed," Maverick panted.
Offended and tired of him, Adira was close to shooting him in the calf and asking if she missed. But Maverick held up a finger leading to P.J, with an unstable fragile girl clinging onto P.J's shoulder. Adira's eyes darkened, and she aimed once more.
P.J’s eyes widened as she held Desi in front of her, acting as a shield so the soldier wouldn’t shoot. She ran to help Quillon and picked up Sherry’s shoulders with another hand as Quillon held his legs. “Come on, you stupid,” She hissed.
you can't tell me this isn't our friend group
Determined, Adira did not do well with grudges, she stomped over to P.J. "I think this time, you'll find yourself in the mood," Adira flicked a finger, and cops surrounded the ship. "Teleport away, my friend, but you don't have anywhere to escape without a ship."
Adira watched, not an ounce of sympathy in her eyes, as the cops absolutely destroyed the ship.
(dude where the hecketh is this going?)
Shrugging, P.J cast a helio sheild around both the ship and them, somehow keeping everything intact as they kept on getting everyone inside the ship.
How does one respond to that - she's so op I can't even XD
idk man, you know for the roleplay legion with will and all them I have helio/umbrakinesis too, if you really look at it is has a looooooooooooooooot of stuff you can do
