@Calanthe

"Okay then, that works." He said happily as he turned to face the man at the counter to buy his tickets. After a minute or so, the two headed into the the building, "So, do you want me to wait with you while you get the popcorn, or should I go find the seats. Personally I don't care, either or is fine with me."

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

“How about you go find the seats and I’ll catch up with you once I’ve gotten my popcorn.” He smiled over at him. “That sound good?” He asked. He liked doing this, just the simple concept of being able to go somewhere with someone. Someone who wasn’t annoying like literally all his friends.

@Calanthe

"Alright!" Bennet said happily as he started to walk away, then he remembered that Connor would need his ticket. He turned back around and walked back over to the other boy, "Here you go, now I'll find our seats." After a few minutes he made his way to the theatre and found his idea of the perfect seat. Not too close to the front, but not all in the way in the back either, sort of just in the middle. Once he sat down, he pulled out his phone and checked the text from the other guy. It was just what he had expected, something stupid and a little homophobic. Bennet groaned and turned off his phone, he didn't really want to think about that at the moment. Sliding his phone into his pocket he then turned his attention towards the trailers, trying to focus on something other than that text.

Connor had gotten his popcorn, putting an unhealthy amount of butter on it before heading towards the theater. It took him a minute to spot Bennet but when he did, he made his way over there as quickly as possible. He sat down next to the other male, trying not to stare at him. But after a second he said what was on his mind. “Are you okay? You look like something’s bothering you.”

@Calanthe

"I uhm. . .it's uhm, nothing important really, I uhm, it's just friends being friends, and them trying to get under my skin." Bennet said with a small shrug, "But, again, it's not too big of a deal, I just can't let them bother me." He finally noticed the popcorn and his jaw nearly dropped, "Oh my gosh. . .you're going to share some of that, right?" That was so much butter, honestly a little too much, but he didn't care too much about that, popcorn is still popcorn. "And how much do I owe you for the popcorn? The prices at these place are ridiculous, so I can at least pay for half, please?" Bennet was trying to change the conversation as quickly as possible, it sort of annoyed him at times that his emotions were always quite visible, and this guy seemed very perceptive. The sooner he brought the attention off him, the better.

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

The distraction worked for the moment, but Connor would probably remember later. He laughed at Bennet’s reaction. “Yeah of course I’m gonna share. And no I’m not letting you pay, we already talked about this. You paid for the tickets, I’ll pay for food. It’s all good.”

@Calanthe

"No fair, can I at least pay for half?" He playfully crossed his arms and pouted a little, "It's not all good, I'll feel terribly guilty if you don't let me pay for at least someeetttthhhhiiiiiinnnnggg." He whined a little bit to accentuate his point, "Or you can pay for this and I'll pay for the takeout, how's that sound?" Before Connor could answer, Bennet's phone buzzed again, but this time, instead of him checking it he just ignored it, "It's only fair if we do that."

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

“Okay fiiiiine you can pay for takeout.” He sighed dramatically in false annoyance but he couldn’t help the smile that crept up on to his face. “Will that help ease your guilty conscience?” He teased, locking eyes with the other.

@Calanthe

"Of course it would. I wouldn't be able to rest knowing that you paid for everything." Bennet tried to stifle a laughter as he became slightly more dramatic, "So many sleepless nights thinking of what I could of done to help pay for something." He let an extremely dramatic sigh, which caused the person behind him to loudly shush him. Bennt sheepishly apologized to the man, then turned back to face Connor, locking eyes with him again, "Any ideas on where to go then?"

@Calanthe

"Okey dokey, that sounds good, it's been a while since I've had some good Chinese food, other than ramen, but I don't think that counts, so let's just say I haven't had Chinest food in a while." Bennet grabbed a handful of the popcorn and began to munch on it. He was about to say something else, but the lights began to dim and movie started.

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

Connor fell silent as the lights dimmed. Automatically, he was focused on the screen. As the movie started, he was visibly very interested. He occasionally grabbed a handful of popcorn, not really watching when he did.

@Calanthe

Bennet on the other hand wasn't all that interested in the movie, he wasn't going to complain or anything, but this sort of movie just didn't really interest him. He vividly remembered that war, and this movie was surprisingly accurate. So, he just let his mind zone out, just thinking about life, and some random, but deep exstestential questions. As the movie progressed Bennet continued to snack here and there on the popcorn, his hand occasionally bumping into Connor's. He didn't want to make it seem as though he was trying to well. . .you know. . Every time they did bump hands, he would awkwardly pull his hand away, and eventually decided to just let Connor have the popcorn.

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

Every time their hands would touch, Connor would mumble out a quick sorry, but besides that he didn’t seem phased. He also remembered that war vividly. He was grateful it wasn’t an actual documentary. Because there were definitely times when Alec was on the frontlines. Connor had been there too sometimes, never by choice. That war had been terrible, and he knew a lot of demons had taken advantage of the chaos to do what they wanted. Connor had done the best he could to help people. This movie was making him recall all their faces, and even some names.

@Calanthe

During the duaration of the movie, after he finally came up with a few answers to his questions, he had decided that he had been weirding himself out. He was acting awkwardly around Connor for no apparent reason, well other than the fact that he was an awkward person, but that wasn't too much of an excuse. He would need to just try to be normal around the guy, and hopefully not weird him out. That sort of brought him to another idea, something he had been wanting to do for a while, Well, since they can't keep too good of an eye on me down here. Maybe it's time that I try new things, and be a little less angelic all the time. Hhmph, like that'd ever happen, Well, I guess I'll just do what I need to do and go back home. He absentmindedly let out a sigh, then grabbed another handful of popcorn, the food was honestly a little addictive, he was going to need a lot of this around the apartment.

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

((Embrace the gay Bennet embrace the gaaaaaaayyyyy))

At some point in the movie he got too deep into his memories and had to find something else to focus on. That something ended up being Bennet. He tried to not look like he was staring. ‘I wonder what’s going on inside that guy’s head.’ He thought to himself. Bennet was a lot different than other humans he’d met in his lifetime.

@Calanthe

((Oof, this baby is just too shy about that stuff))

Once the movie began to end was when Bennet actually began to enjoy it, but soon it was over. During the last twenty minutes of the movie, he had sort of formulated a plan on how he could come out of his shell, and maybe out of the closet too. Maybe he would take a little bit longer to do this mission, or if he had the choice, not return. The houselights came up, and he turned to look at Connor, "Hungry yet, or do you want to go back to the apartment? Once you're hungry, I can pick the food up, it's no problem."

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

((Poor baby :( Connor’s just been in bi panic for so long he’s used to it XD))

“Let’s just go eat now. You never want to go out super late at night.” They’d pretty much eaten all the popcorn. “And somehow I’m still hungry even after the popcorn.” He chuckled softly.

@Calanthe

((OOf, these poor boys))

Bennet nodded standing up, brushing off all the remaining popcorn off his lap, "That sounds great, and remember, I'm paying for the food, no helping me." He shook his head, trying to keep in a laugh, "I know, and you ate almost all of it, now come on, I'm starving."

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

((I have a feeling they’re gonna end up pining for each other for awhile oof))

Connor rose to his feet, stretching out one of his arms that was on the verge of falling asleep. “Got it. I won’t even try to help you pay. I promise.”

@Calanthe

(You're probably right))

"You better not, at all." Bennet said with a small smirk, as the two started to walk out of theater together, "So, did you like the movie? I didn't really pay too much attention, but you seemed to be really interested in it, at least I think you were."

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

“I won’t!” He replied with a grin that turned a little bit shy when Bennet mentioned how interested Connor had been in the movie. “I guess I just really like history or something??” He laughed self consciously. “I don’t know..it’s pretty dorky of me.”
