The day was young as the suns rose on the desert world of Adjurak. But it was not a peaceful place to be, as it was under control by the infamous Necrozians. Patrols walked the streets, knocking on doors. It was recommended to have an ID or clearance on you at all times; at the very least a convincing false ID. It was not recommended to be caught with a false ID, however.
Kayi walked the streets, their form very menacing as they were accompanied by their lower ranking but just as capable teammates. Civilians on the streets parted; the few that were out there, anyways. Since the occupation began, the once active and festive Adjurak had transferred into..well, this.
Kayi nodded towards Aspect, the person on the right of them. Aspect parted ways, only to yank someone out of a small group. Civilians seemed to back away, but most were prevented from leaving, despite their fears of what could - or was about to happen. As the captured kneeled down, Kayi took out their staff and gave the crowd a long stare. It seemed the town had gone a bit silent.
“There are spies in this town,” Kayi spoke, their voice calm yet commanding. Their voice seemed to be affected by their helmet, sounding more mechanical.
“We do not know the spies are. If you know the spy, turn them into the authorities. If you know a suspect but do not turn them in, and are discovered to be hiding them, you will be captured by the authorities.”
Electricity crackled at the end of their staff, as they rose it, commanding two of their troops to have the captive one to stand. “And this,”
They stopped talking as they suddenly jabbed the electric staff into the back of the captive. The captive could not scream, but an outsider could tell this was an extreme amount of pain this person felt. What felt like hours was actually seconds later when the person dropped to the ground, murmurs and gasps echoing out. The crowd seemed to make even more space between them. “Will happen to you.”
Aspect seemed to glance at Kayi who returned the look. It was hard to tell what the two were thinking.
“You may return to your jobs.” Kayi spoke, turning around, leaving the still, former captive in the dusty streets alone. No one came to pick them up, either.
Kayi’s squad joined them again.
