Kiyomi Liddel walks through life on edge. She experiences 'hallucinations': one minute she'll be in the real world and the next this bright and fantastical world. When she's in the real world, the other one doesn't exist. When she's in the fantastical world, the real one doesn't exist. Sometimes she'll be trapped in the fantastical world for only a few seconds, other times hours.
She goes through life knowing that this isn't normal, but knowing it's going to keep happening. When she meets a boy, Acacius Hightopp, she discovers that these aren't hallucinations. The world is called Wonderland, and it is very much real. Her mother Alice had gone through a similar experience, although she simply fell down a rabbit hole and was trapped. Acacius explains that something is very wrong in Wonderland for her to be experiencing the 'flickers' between worlds, and has to have been for many years.
The council of Wonderland have only just discovered that something is wrong, despite Kiyomi experiencing these 'flickers' for 18 years. And they believe that she is both the cause and the fixer of the problem.
So I got this idea based off a picture I did on a colouring app.
Kiyomi is Alice's daughter and Acacius is the Mad Hatter's son (from Alice in Wonderland, obvi).
I will be Kiyomi, you will be Acacius.
I don't know if I want this to be romance, if it progresses to it then so be it.
Also I would prefer that you kept the name Acacius Hightopp (only cause I like it), but if you do change it please have the last name of Hightopp (it makes more sense in this rp) and have the first name mean something like 'mad', 'crazy' or 'trouble' (to fit the Mad Hatter vibe).
I'll post a template if someone wants to join, don't be offended if I ask for a writing sample.
i would like to join this, if you don’t mind?
(could i have a sample of your writing? a paragraph that has no dialogue at all and then one that is mostly dialogue please)
(sure just on the spot or from an rp?)
(um i dont really care, i just want a sample (but two))
Alexander woke up from the reoccurring dream he had been having recently drenched in sweat. He reached his hand up to feel his cheek, expecting to feel his skin, just like normal, but he could actually feel where the tree had scratched him as he ran. He felt his stomach drop. That wasn’t normal, and neither was the note that certainly hadn’t been on his desk before.
Glancing at the alarm clock, Alexander saw it was only ten minutes before he was supposed to wake up for school anyway, so he first went to put a band-aid on his cheek, hoping his dad would think it was from…he wasn’t sure. It wasn’t like he played any sports. At least the mark wasn’t too big.
The next thing he did was turn on the lamp he had on his nightstand, shedding light on the note his dream said would there. Alexander’s heart was pounding as he read. This couldn’t be happening to him. He was the average somewhat-nerdy kid; he wasn’t supposed to get sucked into other-dimensional problems. Was Wonderland another dimension? His head hurt just thinking about it. Just then his alarm clock went off and he jumped, before turning it off.
“I don’t understand…” she said quietly, her eyes a pool of emotion. “What do you mean that you started dating me as a joke? Was any of this real? Do you have any feelings for me at all?” She took a deep breath, trying not to cry. “Were you just laughing behind my back when I told you I loved you? I knew that you could be mean sometimes, but not this cruel.” She did her best to swallow the lump in her throat, her vision blurring with tears as she began to cry. “You can go back and tell your friends that you did it. You did it, congratulations! You got the biggest loner in school to put out! Just go and laugh about it, because I’m just a big joke to you!”
(the first paragraph is from a wonderland themed rp lol and the second i came up with on the spot)
(OK that's cool. I'm not going to be on my laptop for a couple hours, but I'll post a template when I get to it. Also, if you don't want to use the name Acacius, it would be really helpful if you could tell me the name you want to use (idk I'd like to see it before the character))
(k, i actually have to go to work soon so ill post it after that)

Name: Acacius Hightopp (ok this is a pretty cool name)
Age: 20
Gender: male
Sexuality: pan
Appearance: Acacius has unruly, golden blonde fluffy hair that doesn’t take crap from any hair products. He has intelligent hazel eyes with short lashes and eyebrows that are a couple shades darker than his hair. He always has a wry smile on his lips and has a smattering of freckles across his nose and cheeks. His nose is straight and a tiny bit turned up at the end. He has an oval face and a skinny build, standing at 5’ 9”. His hands have long fingers which are perfect for playing the piano.
Style:
Real World: His outfits typically look like he took whatever was cleanest off of his floor, which he does fairly often. His clothes generally consist of some type of t-shirt, jeans or cargo pants, and combat boots. He also has a fondness for a denim jacket with wool on the inside.
Wonderland: His Wonderland style is slightly less thrown together, with more stylish suits and boots as well as a signature top hat much of the time. It is more colorful than his real ensemble as well.
Personality: Acacius is quick about everything—his walking, his speaking, and his thinking. He’s very intelligent, but also forgetful and sometimes just doesn’t think before he does things. He likes to tell jokes (though he’s not much good at it) and flirt (which he’s only marginally better at) but can be charming nonetheless. He’s a people person and hates being alone. Loves reading.
Background: He was born in Wonderland and lived much of his life there, but decided to come to the real world to look for Alice about a year ago. His father introduced him to the real world when he was younger and he would go there occasionally, but he has only really lived there for about a year. He always feels slightly out of place in the real world, though.
Powers: He has snatches of the future at random moments, which can make him seem quite crazy.
Other: is he good?
also sorry it took me so long
(yeah he's all good, im sorry that ive havent gotten mine up, ill try to do it soon)
Name: Kiyomi Liddel
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Kiyomi’s hair, while naturally blonde, is dyed a pale blue. It is styled with an undercut, and almost always has a plait. Her eyes are a startling green, and the exact change varies depending on the angle you look at it from. Her skin is an average pale, and she has many freckles dotted on her face and around her body.
She also has two tattoos that aren’t easily visible: a ribcage and a cage.
Style: (day-to-day clothing)
Real World: Really anything comfortable. She isn’t girly, but she doesn’t mind wearing dresses and heels. She will always wear a steampunk necklace that was a gift from her mother before she passed, and it is the only item of clothing that doesn’t change when she goes to Wonderland: which has led her to believe that that is it’s place of origin.
Wonderland: Kiyomi’s outfit will change depending on where she is in Wonderland. She has no control over when it changes, but it has only been between four different outfits. 1, 2, 3, 4.
Personality: Kiyomi is kind and generous. She walks through life on eggshells, never knowing when she’s going to be thrust into Wonderland or where she’ll end up when she is returned. Despite this, Kiyomi tries to do what is right. She is a little too trusting, but knows how to get herself out of sticky situations.
Background: Born the child of Alice Liddel of Wonderland, doesn’t know who her father is. Alice died when Kiyomi was 17, but she was out of high school and almost 18 so the government didn’t bother putting her into foster care.
She was 1 when she began to experience the flickers. When she was a baby, they would only last a few seconds. The time she spent in Wonderland during the flickers has become longer over the years, up to the point where she could spend almost a day.
Kiyomi enters a trance when she’s in the flickers. Although she isn’t anywhere in Wonderland when she’s in the real world, her body is still grounded during the flickers to Wonderland. This has led her to dangerous situations: she was narrowly saved from a train by a father when she was a teen. She has no control over her body, which is why she sometimes does nothing during the flickers to Wonderland.
Powers: Kiyomi has the control over emotions, but not in the typical sense. She can’t really change people’s emotions, but she can overwhelm them with a different one. She can use an overwhelming feeling to her own benefit in different ways – someone who is extremely sad could give her a temporary ability to bend water.
She can also control the overall environment of a place. Take a cemetery for example – it houses depression and sadness, which she can harness.
She is weak of the ability in the real world, but really strong in Wonderland.
Other: She calls them flickers. Always has. It’s the easiest way for her to deal with it.
Kiyomi sat in a cafe drinking herbal tea. She'd experienced a fairly long flicker earlier in the day, in which she'd layed down and slept. So now she felt like tea. She could hear the clock necklace ticking ever so softly, reminding her of her mother.
Acacius was sitting at the next table over by himself, reading as he sipped some of his Earl Gray tea. He glanced over at the girl near him, scrunching his eyebrows. Something seemed familiar about her. Was she the one he had been looking for? It was certainly possible. He considered going up to talk to her, though he knew that people didn’t always take well to him intruding in on their peace. But if she was the one, if she got a little annoyed, it would be worth it. He stood up, bringing his half-full tea, and walked over to where she was sitting.
“May I sit here?” he asked, standing behind one of the seats at her table.
Kiyomi looked up, seeing a blond haired boy. She thought to herself, then answered. "Sure, but I'd rather not share my table with a stranger I don't know the name of. So tell me, what is your name?"
“Acacius, and yours?” he responded with a bright smile. He sat down in the chair, setting his teacup down loudly. The tea sloshed around in the cup but didn’t spill, thankfully. He ran a hand through his unkempt hair in a half-hearted attempt to fix it, but knew the chances of it magically smoothing out were slim to none.
Kiyomi stared at this Acacius, her green eyes taking him in. "Kiyomi," She finally said, although she was not going to reveal any more. She took another sip of her tea, eyes never leaving him. He was a stranger, yet he felt so familiar. She couldn't tell why.
Acacius didn’t notice her suspicion, instead taking a sip of his own tea and then grinning at her again. “Nice to meet you, Kiyomi,” he replied. “What are you drinking, if I may ask?”
"Oh, lemongrass and peppermint. It's one of my favourite herbal teas." She took another sip, feeding off the tastes that it brought. "What about you?"
