"I'm fairly certain she's well aware," said Rio, "But she is headstrong.. and she probably figures she can do it herself…."
"I'm fairly certain she's well aware," said Rio, "But she is headstrong.. and she probably figures she can do it herself…."
"Figures…" He glanced down at his feet when something clocked him right in the temple of his head.
Tobias glanced up and saw that same group of kids that were bugging him earlier that last week.
"Hey, look!" One of them called – preferably the one behind the whole thing – as he sauntered over to pick up the frisbee that hit him. "It's no-good neon eyes!"
"What the?"Rio stopped to stare at the boys, "Do you lot have a problem or something?"
The kid glared back at Rio. "…What? You his dad or something? (I have absolutely no idea what Rio looks like….) Of course we have a problem! It's hard to live a good life when someone with eyes like his show up."
Tobias took a small step back, rubbing his head where it stung. Ouch…. That actually hurt…. "Why can't you leave me alone…?" He muttered to himself inaudibly.
(Rio= tall dark brown hair with a blue tinge at the ends. short and messy, has dark skin, darker streaks on his hand, usually wearing loose pants and a vest occasionally over a white shirt, blue eyes, dark blue sash around waist.)
Rio watched the kid, And what's so bad about eye color?" he asked, "It's not like he can choose that, And physical abilities or features definitely don't determine a persons worth."
"It doesn't matter because he isn't worth anything in the first place."
Tobias frowned. "Just leave me alone."
"…And what are you gonna do about it?" The kid snarked, disregarding Rio almost entirely.
Rio looked around to see if anyone was looking, then swept them up to the roof of a nearby building with a flash of blue.
The kids all began to holler and such from the sudden change in space.
Tobias gasped and glared at Rio. But he grinned lightly. "Thank you…. They've been bugging me all week about nearly the most insignificant things…" …Why do they prod me like that just for the color of my eye?
Rio nodded, "Now," he attempted to get the kids attention. "Let's focus back over here ok?"
"I guess…." He kept a little quiet before he suddenly gasped again. "Wait! I think Megan was planning to go grocery shopping today!"
"And this concerns us how?" asked Rio.
"Well… She always says I'm such a big help because I have incredible memory. I'm helpful because I can remember everything she has on the list and I can cut the time we spend there in half…. Just efficiency reasons. But if she doesn't go today, we'll have to wait until next week to go and buy stuff. Since she's busy every day of the week, almost."
"So do you think we should maybe do the shopping for her?" asked Rio, "I mean, after we double check with Megan that is.."
"I bet she'd greatly appreciate that!" Tobias smiled. "…Considering she can't leave the house in fear of that girl trashing it and breaking stuff– even if Skye has her under some control."
"Skye has her under control ok?" Said Rio warping them into an alleyway, "Now hows about we head back."
"T-That sounds good." Tobias smiled strangely. …Why on earth did he do that?… He got out of the alleyway and glanced both ways and headed out back home.
Rio followed him quietly,
(He did that cause they were on the roof originally cause he wanted to get Tobias away from the creeps…)
(When you said warped them I thought you meant the bullies to a roof, hmma what confusion.)
Rio and Tobias finally made it back to the house, and wandered to where Megan was still in the kitchen. "Back so soon?" She said.
"I was wondering if you were going to shop for groceries today," Tobias sat up on the counter stool. "Because we do need to do that."
"Maybe you can go and do that with Firiko and Rio," She took a card from her bag on the counter, giving it to him. "I have to stay here and make sure nothing happens. Even if nothing does, I can't guarantee nothing will happen…."
"Nothing's gonna happen and I can't leave the house because of these stupid feathers…" said Firiko, "At worst they'll be stuck like that till we figure out a way home."
"Oh…. Well, alright then. You can go off and pick up groceries for me while Firiko and I stay here." Megan sighed. "Just don't take too long and don't buy anything that wasn't on the list!"
"Will do!" Tobias smiled, putting the card in his pocket. "We shouldn't be long." He glanced at Rio. "You ready to go?"
"Sure!" said Rio happily, "Sorry you can't come kid" he said referring to Firiko,
"Nevermind…" said Firiko.
They headed on out and on their way to the grocery store. "So how do you guys get food? I figured it isn't as easy as just walking down the street… Or is it?"
"I usually go fishing most of the time." said Rio thoughtfully. "And I'm fairly certain that Skye and Firiko would normally hunt for theirs."
…Wow…. "Well…. I always feel kind of lazy whenever I go to the store… Thinking that people back then had to work for food. But now, all you have to do is get money and go down the street a few blocks." Tobias smiled a little. "Yet…. I suppose time never really stops…"
"That's definitely something time never does." laughed Rio
