Aeryn began to walk towards the sitting room with Cedar behind her, small heels clicking on the floor. It wasn't a long walk to the sitting room, but it was enough to make Aeryn wish there was an alternative way to get there.

Angelique nodded and tapped her fingers against the chair again restlessly. She briefly wondered how long it could possibly take to reach this little room, but brushed the thought off. Patience is a virtue.

Ah, finally. Aeryn thought as she and Cedar arrived at the sitting room. Cedar opened the door, and Aeryn walked in. "Terribly sorry to keep you waiting," She said politely.

@Simon-Says

Angelique shook her head, standing and smiling at the queen. "No trouble at all, we were perfectly content to wait," she assured Aeryn, lying through her teeth.

Aeryn could tell that Angelique was lying: she showed many of the same signs Gaius did when he lied. But she wasn't going to push it. There were more important things to do, and this wasn't the time. She sat down. "I'm glad that you willing to come and try to return peace."

@Simon-Says

"Of course. I'm glad that you invited us," Angelique answered truthfully, returning to her seat. As soon as she sat down, the room felt too small, as often happened when she started to get anxious. Looking around at the room, Angelique could see that it seemed to be a perfectly decent size, but the feeling persisted.

"The war between Seralia and Traedia has gone on for too long. We, as descendants, don't even know the true story as to why it started. The truth has been twisted for many years, to the point where information in history books conflict."

@Simon-Says

Angelique nodded. "We have to right it. I want to know, and I'm sure you do as well, the real cause of the war. I'm just not sure how to get this information." She looked down at the flooring, thinking.

"Yes, as time travel is not possible as of now, nor will it ever be likely. I believe our best bet would be to comb through history books, find similarities and then construct a story from that."

@Simon-Says

Angelique nodded. "I think we have some journals in our library that could help, as well," she turned to Adelaide, who nodded. "Quite possibly."

"As with my library. But we need to go about this sensibly. There is at least a day's travel between our two kingdoms, and the doves take too long with messages. We wouldn't be able to communicate to each other very well."

@Simon-Says

"I could send Adelaide back to Traedia," she suggested. Adelaide looked as though she wanted to protest, but kept her mouth shut. "And we'll- no, that's exactly the same thing, sorry, I'm not - I don't know."

Aeryn perked up. "Cedar. Your sister can teleport, can she not?"
"Yes, she can," Cedar piped up. "I can go get her, if you'd like. She owes me a favour anyway."
"Please do."

Deleted user

"Cedar, please go retrieve your sister and bring her back here. Please do this as quickly as you can. While you do that, Queen Angelique and myself will try to scour the library for some of the things we need."
"Yes, your majesty." With that, Cedar left.

"Yes, I suppose we should," Aeryn smiled thinly, standing up as well. "The library is on the other side of the castle. There is a bit of a walk to get there, but it shouldn't take too long hopefully."

"Follow me," Aeryn said, moving out of the room. She led Angelique and Adelaide around the castle, up some stairs and down others. The simple grey coblestone walls looked old and dull, but were filled with centuries of history.

@Simon-Says

Angelique looked around the castle, enraptured by the drastic differences between this castle and hers. Her family had remodeled their castle every 20 years or so, and Angelique had absolutely no clue what the place had looked like originally. She much preferred this place, where she could see original architecture.

"The library is just on the other side of this hallway," Aeryn said, picking up the hem of her dress. "However, the hallway is downhill and iced over. I did it when I was a child, and the staff enjoy it so much that I leave it that way. What I'm trying to say is that you're gonna have to try and keep your balance."

@Simon-Says

Angelique blinked. "Oh, ah - " she ooked down at her heels uncomfortably. She wasn't good at keeping her balance even on solid ground. "Wonderful."

Deleted user

"Yes, sorry about it. I, truthfully, wasn't expecting to have to come this way, but it turned out to be the quickest route from the sitting room." She slid down the ice, using the balls of her shoes rather than the heels.

@Simon-Says

Angelique managed a weak smile, and clung to the wall, sliding sideways down the ice and still almost falling. "Well, that's certainly a -" terrifying "- lovely addition," she laughed when she stopped sliding.

Aeryn walked into the library. It was larger than one would expect, spanning three levels with thousands of books. "It's not much," She said. "You probably have many more books in your own library."
