Angelique smiled, absolutely delighted. "That's fantastic," she said brightly. "Could I - could I hold one?" She asked uncertainly, staring at the salamanders.

"Yeah!" Aeryn said, handing Onix over. The little salamander nuzzled into Angelique's palms. Aeryn spotted Dart making small noises at his home, and she reached towards the hole with a small pile of snow in her palm. A small salamander, smaller than Fuego, crawled out and buried itself into the snow.
"Oh, Dart! You had a baby!" Aeryn could already tell it was a girl. "And it's a girl! Why didn't you tell me?"

@Simon-Says

Angelique held back a squeal of excitement. "Oh, my gods, this is the best day of my life," she gushed. This is inappropriate for a lady your age, she could practically hear her father's voice, but this time, she ignored it. Baby salamanders were far more important than etiquette.

"You need a name, don't you?" Aeryn asked the baby. "How about….Agni?" No. "Pele?" No. "Adara?" No. "Aithe?" No. "Oh, I think I know. What about Bruni?" That was a definite yes. "So there's Dart, Onix, Fuego and Bruni. Adorable."

@Simon-Says

Angelique nodded. "Fantastic name. Where did they come from? I just mean - I've never seen a salamander before, where did your brother get them?"

Deleted user

"I'm not sure, actually. He just…brought them home one day. One day they were normal, the next they could-" Aeryn was interrupted by Dart exploding into flames, melting the snow pile he was in. "That."

Deleted user

"Yes, well…Gaius isn't around anymore, so I wouldn't be able to ask him. But they are the only ones I've found, so perhaps they were made by my brother. I doubt it, since he didn't have the power of life, but perhaps."

@Simon-Says

Angelique nodded, lost in thought. "That would be an interesting power to have. Not that - gods, that was probably disrespectful, I'm so sorry, it's just- your brother was a fire manipulator, right? I've never heard of anyone who could… transfer powers. It's sort of fascinating." She let the salamander crawl off of her and into the ground and fixed her dress, feeling nervous again.

Deleted user

"Yeah, he was. Truthfully, I didn't know it was possible either. I don't think I would be able to do it as an ice manipulator." She let out a little laugh. "Everyone used to make fun of us. We were complete opposites, just like our powers. Fire and ice. Angry and calm. Guess I should have known that he was going to die in a battle and that I would be Queen."

@Simon-Says

Angelique shook her head. "That's not something you can predict, no matter how unruly the person." She hesitated before looking up. "I am glad you're queen, though."

(hey so i have an rp that needs a spot filled. it's based on the newer jumanji movies and its called 'welcome to the jungle'. idk if it's what youre into, i just wanted to suggest it)

Aeryn blushed deeply. "Thank you, Angelique. That means more to me than you would think." She looked back at the ballroom. "Perhaps we should return to the ball. That is why you're here, after all."

@Simon-Says

(HIGHKEY DOWN, what spots are open?)
Angelique held back a laugh. "Mainly, I'm here because my advisor convinced me that there would be pretty girls - I mean, ah…" she blinked at the ground for a moment, standing up. "No, I'm here because our great grandparents started fighting and we need to stop it," she corrected, mainly for herself. "Adelaide was right, though. About the pretty girls."

Deleted user

"You…like girls?" Aeryn asked, blushing profusely. "I…like them too. Thought I might have been the only one. But yes, you're here because of our great grandparents." She stood up, making the cushion disappear.

@Simon-Says

Angelique smiled faintly, nodding. She took a few steps before remembering that she had absolutely no sense of direction and stopped.

"I'm sorry salamanders but I have to leave now." She let Bruni climb off her hand and onto the ground. She created a small pile of snow on the ground. "Don't melt the snow, Dart." She turned to face Angelique. "I suppose I will see you inside." With that, she began to walk back to the ballroom.

@Simon-Says

Angelique nodded and followed Aeryn back inside, wincing at the noise, which was obviously much louder than outside. She went back to standing against the wall and watching the crowd.

Aeryn moved throughout the ball, making her way towards Caolin. The pair moved to the side. "Have you found anyone yet, Caolin?" She asked.
"Perhaps. But my parents would never approve. She's a maid in our kitchen."

Deleted user

"Oh, yes. I understand. Your parents are still quite….17th century, don't you think? Sure, they were born then and grew up then, but times have changed. I just have no parents to stop who I marry."

Deleted user

(sure…do you maybe want to go to a meeting between the two of them and the supervisors or something? im not gonna be online for a little so you can start it off if you like)

@Simon-Says

Angelique sighed as she sat in her chair, eyes roaming around the room. Adelaide stood next to her, but Angelique was still uncomfortable. She'd only been in the room for a minute, but it had been too quiet. She felt the need to say something, but had no idea of what to say. Conversing had never exactly been her strongest skill. "I'm glad we've been able to meet," she managed.

There came a knock on Aeryn's door. "Just a minute!" She called, fixing her crown in her head. She liked to wear it, that was truthful. It wasn't the fact that it showed people she was Queen, but it gave her the confidence she needed. She walked to the door and opened it, finding her Royal Advisor Cedar.
"Queen Angelique is in the sitting room waiting for you."
"Oh, splendid."

@Simon-Says

Adelaide nodded next to her. "It's a wonderful opportunity for you both." Adelaide never directly called her "dear," but the grandmotherly tone was evident. Really, Angelique should hire a new advisor and keep Adelaide as her honorary grandmother.
