Kiera could see the station, "Just a bit further…" She slowed down, thinking about all the possibilities that could happen once she walked in. As she was almost to the doors of the station she felt someone shoulder her, "Excuse me?" She said, shocked that someone much taller than her would shoulder her to get her out of the way. Then she noticed the bag. Her gut told her to follow but instead she forced herself up into the station. As soon as she entered she was yelled at by her Chief. Kiera shuffled to her desk and began the large pile of paperwork, but her mind thinking back to the bag. What would've happened if I stopped them?
Just then, a report came in on the news. Breaking news! Ceo of [company name] comitted s///cide last night! Lets get an interview from one of the cops at the scene. the camera follows them to someone inspecting the body. So, what makes you think they might do it? they seemed to be living a pretty happy life, evan had a wife.(did not mean for that to rhyme) I dont think they did, the wound just dosent look right. they police guy said pointing at a wound but not letting the camera get up close. Thats enough for now, we need to shut this place up. then the news went to a different topic.
He finally made into the base, tossing the bag on the couch and heading up to his office, and sitting down in his special chair rubbing his face.
"Jackson, take a look at this lead and follow up on it. We may need you to go undercover for it." The chief handed her a folder. She took a glance at it, it having the label gang activity. "Fuck." She mumbled. Ki flipped through the papers and changed into more 'undercover' clothes. "What a great day to go walking through alleys and not get shot." She sighed and left the station through the back door. The gang, one of the more evasive ones. "This is going to be one hell of a job."
He sighed, signing off on a paper and setting the pen down. He put his hair up in a man bun some strands still hanging down, he could defintely be mistaken as a girl from behind. "I need some fresh air." He muttered getting up and changing into some civilian clothes and out of a suit.
He left his office and walked downstairs and out the door, taking some cash with incase he decided to get something while he was out. Maybe some guns or blades to add to our weapons room? More med supplises? he ran through a mental list of what he could buy.
She began walking down the streets, looking for the person who gave us the lead. But something felt off, almost like she was being watched by someone. So Kiera stayed on the edge. She finally found her lead, "Snakeskin?" The hooded figure nodded. And she began by asking, "How can I find them?"
He noticed a girl talking to a hooded figure, hm, I hope that guy isn't just some random stranger taking to that girl. He started to watch them interact, he didn't want anything to happen to the girl, he hated when men took advantage of small helpless girls, he wasn't saying this was that but it could be. He kept it inconspicuous though, made sure she couldn't tell she was being watched and he tried to not listen in on what they were saying.
He would leave as soon as he could confirm the girl was safe. So he pulled out his phone and glanced at it checking the time.
After getting her information from the male, she shook his hand and watched the man leave. She decided that she should start looking for the alleyway that could possibly lead to the gang. But she needed to go back to the station, or should she act now. Kiera looked around the alley that she was in at the moment. This part of the city scared her. With her being such a small girl she ais always prepared, but today, she wasnt. "Damnit, i forgot my stuff." She said to herself, "I got to go back to the station now, I can't just go in unarmed…"
he watched the male as he left, then watched the girl look in the direction of the gang. why would she want to go that way? does she want to join? theres no way she could fight with that size unless she was previously trained in something. he heard her talking to herself, Ah, station. Shes an undercover police opperative, should have known. he sighed, turning away from looking at her and looking down at his phone and putting it away.
he made a backhanded comment he was sure she would here.
"i wouldnt if i were you,, nothing but trouble that way.'
"I'm sure I can handle myself." She said once she heard someone say something. "I may look small but thats my advantage." Kiera was very nervous actually, she was in a creepy dim light alley with no back up, no weapons, nothing. But she stood her ground, still looking at her main goal; the gang. "How long have you been over there, watching?" She was trying to find the person that talked. Maybe they could help her get in.
"oh really, so your advantage is looking like a scared little girl?" He raised an brow, still not peering into the alley way. "some advantage, I fear for the gang." He said in a mostly flat tone, he put his hands in his pockets.
"Oh me? I just wanted to make sure that you didn't get kidnapped or rapped by the shady guy you were talking too."
"Who said I was scared?" She asked, very nervous now. "Hold on…gang?" Keira grew curious now, this could be her possible way in. "Well thanks for 'taking care' of me. I don't like being watched either." She sighed, "Anyway can you help me back to the main street?"
"oh please I can hear your voice quiver no matter how much you try and cover it up. Your practically shaking." He still couldn't see her, but he assumed she was shaking, I mean, she didn't have anything to defend herself in. He could probably kill her with a thrown knife or a stab when she wasn't looking.
"Well geez guess I wont watch next time your talking to a shady guy and you can just hope you won't get kidnapped."
He rubbed a thumb over the pocket knife in his pocket.
"Yeah I can. But that's not where you wanna go is it?"
"Dont get all pissy with me." She rolled her eyes. She wasn't about to tell this male that she was going to the station. After all this could be her ticket into the gang. "Just to main street." She said, trying to keep as much detail out. Even though she did know this male, he was her best bet at getting out of the sketchy part of the city alive.
He sighed, turning to face her. At the entry of alley way. He had his arms crossed as he stared at her. His eyes weren't kind and niether was his gaze.
"Come on, let's go to the main street" he nodded his head away and out.
"Yes main street. I dont need someone stalking me." She huffed. She tried her best to profile him, but she couldn't get much. Young male, 6'0 maybe taller, blondish hair the longer sort. Kiera followed him but not to closely, trying her best to observe him. "What are you doing here? Like in this area. You dont seem like the type to just hang around here?" She had to get more information, even if it meant being annoying.
He rolled his eyes at her attempts ón trying to gain information on him.
"Oh and you can tell my type just by looking at me? Very interesting." He hummed, walking towards main street. They seemed to part from his path for some reason.
"Sorry, just my job..I profile people." She apologized. Kiera had a gut feeling that this man, ran with the wrong crowd. "Why do you do it?" She asked, knowing that this could either go one of two ways, he ignores it or he gets angry. She needed more information. At least on him.
"man what is it with you and assuming everything about me? For all you know I could be a proud father, two kids and wife plus a stable non shady job.," He half pouted, mixed with a huff.
"Why do I do it? I don't know if I have any good reasons too anymore." He muttered the last part hoping she wouldn't hear it. "why do you do what you do?"
"Its gut feeling. Ever have to use it?" She rolled her eyes. Kiera thought for a second, she couldn't actually tell him. "Secretary." Kiera hated lying but only used it when she thought she had to. She heard him mutter something but it was too quiet for her to pick up. "I hate my job though. I need out. But now that the CEO just died this may be my chance to pursue something else." She said, fixing her grey hoodie.
"uh huh. You worked for his company, you just be happy he's dead. I heard he was unfair boss. Who knows maybe your the one who killed him and made it look like a suicide." He seemed to have problems saying this stuff.
"What did you originally want to pursue?' he knew she was lying, he heard her earlier talking bout returning to the station but he played along anyway. The people at the station might notice her, they might not.
"I wouldnt do that. If I want to work for the FBI i have to have a squeaky clean record." She sighed. "Yeah, the shit he made me do…One nasty ass man." Kiera felt terrible to lying to this man, but she needed this to work to be able to get her promotion. "It sucks being young too. They always would blame me for the mistakes they made. Endless yelling from the CEO." She fiddled with her sweatshirt and pulled out a piece of paper and began to read it over and over again. 'This undercover op could make or break your career Kiera.' -Chief Woods.
"yeah well if you know the right people, you can get away with a ton of things and still make it seem like you have a Squeaky clean record. Besides everyone's done something bad in there life. But then again you do look like a goody two shoes." He cracked a small empty smile, it went away immediately though.
"Mm I can imagine that they would. They always pick on the young ones."
"Yeah, just dont want to get involved with the wrong people. I am not a goody two shoes thank you very much. It seems as if you have though. You're emotionless, cold, hurt inside." Keira stopped fiddling with the paper and put it away. She had to find a way into this guys life, after he may be her inside link. "Thanks, for walking me?" She didnt know how to word it. "You wanna go for coffee or something sometime? Like just as friends." She asked, starting to see main street, the busy crowds and bright lights.
"Oh please, tell me something to prove your not a goody two shoes and then maybe I will believe you. Then again you assume so much of people, i bet it probably gets you into a skirmish or two." he teased, even without a smile or smirk you could tell it was a tease. "Honestly? feels as if i was simply born that way, Emotionless and cold. Havent had much to focus on feeling sad or feeling happy." he seemed to be honest and telling about himself for once.
he looked at the time,
"Why not. Here, let me know when your not busy and i can head over and pick you up." he handed her a slip of paper with his number on it.
"After all that i dont even know your name, guess i shall just markyou as girl who assumes everything."
