(Awww!)
Ali grins, satisfied with her picnic setup near her favorite rosebushes. The smell of tamales wafted through the air and she couldn’t wait a moment longer. She quickly pulled out her phone and called Serenity, grinning as she pictured her face
(Yeah, I make things cute!)
Serenity picks up the phone, grinning now that the vase is done.
"Hey, babe! What's up?" she asks, a smile evident in her voice, even over the phone.
Ali blushes at the pet name, grinning. “Hey, I need some help with homework. It’s about artists and things and I thought you’d be good at it.” She smiles down at her setup. “Can you meet me at the garden? I’m by the horse statue”
"Uh, sure! I'll be right there!" Serenity smiles, suspecting something. She grabs the vase and leaves for the garden, finding the horse statue easily and seeing the picnic setup and Ali. She gasps.
"Oh my god, they're so pretty!" she exclaims, looking at the flowers. She smells the food.
"Tamales? Damn, I love those!" she grins, then wraps Ali in a hug, kissing her.
Ali smiles warmly, hugging Serenity back and dishing out the Mexican. “This is from my favorite restaurant, it’s not as good as my mamá’s but it’s pretty close.” She grins, handing Serenity a tamale. “What’s your family like?”
She grins at Ali. "I doubt it'll be worse than the "Mexican" I've had in Kansas and Illonois."
"You'd be surprised to know that my mother is a lawyer. My father is an artist." Serenity responds, practically inhaling the tamale. Damn, this is good.
Ali laughs, then cocks her head. “Huh, would have never thought you had some lawyer in you!” She chuckles, smiling when Serenity downs the tamale. “It’s good, right?” She grabs a chip and dips it in salsa
"Don't worry, I won't use it against you." she grins.
"Mm-hmmmm!" she hums, grabbing another, inhaling that then grabbing some chips herself.
Ali laughs hard, then sighs, watching Serenity. She grabs another tamale and takes a bite, looking at her phone. “Do you have any other classes scheduled today?” She asks, mouth half full of tamale
"Maybe… I think I might have Graphic Design next." Serenity says, sighing. "But it's probably not for another hour and a half to an hour."
Ali chuckles. “You don’t know when your classes are?? You’re paying 5,000 a semester for them!” She grabs one of the quesadillas, scarfing it down as she looks at her phone. “Well, we could go swimsuit shopping, or walk around campus, or…” she gets an idea then shakes her head. “Nevermind”
Serenity snorts. "Yeah, fair."
She immediately perks up. "Nevermind what?"
Ali shrugs, laughing timidly. “You paint, right? I could… I could be your muse”
Serenity remembers the vase. "Speaking of painting, I made something."
She shows Ali the vase. "And yes, you could be."
Ali takes the vase, inspecting every detail, tracing her finger along the beach. “This… this is….” She struggles to find the right word, carefully admiring the piece of art. “This is maravilloso”
Serenity grins. "Thank you!"
Ali continues admiring it, smiling at every new detail she finds. “When did you make it?”
"In ceramics, just a bit ago, actually. Ceramics is a long class. We had time to glaze and fire the clay. And I barely had time to finish painting it and waiting for it to dry before you called me." Serenity smiles, happy that Ali loves it.
“Wow. You did that really fast then!” She says, smiling. She gasps, putting the white and blue flowers in the vase. “There!”
"Yeah, I've been doing this stuff for years. What'd you expect?" Serenity replies, just a tiny bit smug. "And trust me, I had no clue you were getting flowers."
Ali laughs. “You’ll have to teach me!” She raises an eyebrow. “Oh sure…”
"No, really!" Serenity grins. "And I could, it might take a bit though. I'm sure you'd enjoy it though."
Ali nods, grinning. “I think so too.” She lays out on the grass, watching the few clouds in the sky float by
Serenity's mind starts to wander, planning paintings and drawings. Taking mental photos and whatnot. Eventually, she looks down at Ali, thinking about how easy it would be to draw her. Grinning, she pulls out a pencil and sketchbook, quickly drawing Ali.
Ali sits up a little. “You’re so quiet all the su-“ the sound of a pencil against paper catches her ears and she turns to see Serenity drawing her. Ali blushes, then holds as still as possible.
