“Stop that. It’s incredibly obnoxious,” Simon said, frowning at the map. “What do you think this means?” They pointed to a circle with and x in the middle.

Coraline rolled her eyes at it, before looking at the map. "My best guess is that's our final destination. X marks the spot, usually, right?"
"But why would you put a circle around it?" Simon looked up from the map, then back down at it.
"Usually when I want to remember something for English or get the answer in Math, I circle it. Could be why."
“I dunno.” Simon didn’t say anything else, just examined the map more. “We need to start at the next town over. That’s where the map starts.”
"Well, when does the next bus roll in?" She asked, adjusting her grip on her bag.
“When it gets here. Why don’t you make yourself useful and look at the schedule?”
Coraline flipped it off, but did turn to look at the schedule, squinting at the letters faded by the sun.
“Your temper is a sight to behold,” Simon said flatly, crossing its legs at the ankle.
"At least I'm not a little bitch."
“I beg to differ,” Simon retorted.
"Then beg." Coraline shot back, still squinting at the schedule.
“I choose to differ,” Simon rephrased, with a sly glance in Coraline’s direction.
Coraline rolled her eyes. "Pretty sure the next bus comes in thirty minutes."
“Thank you kindly,” Simon returned to examining the map.
"Well, you just turned incredibly southern."
“That isn’t a thing. If you’d’ve bothered to be polite to me at any point, you might have heard me say that.”
"Ah, yes, but have you considered going and fucking yourself?" Coraline asked, in an overexaggerated and bad posh British accent.
“Seems like a waste of time to me. Why don’t you give it a shot and report back, hmm?” It looked up from the map, its expression a mix of annoyance and amusement.
Coraline raised an eyebrow. "You really want an answer to that?"
“Do you want to give me an answer?” Simon said innocently, looking at Coraline.
"Well, are you gonna be a bitch about it?"
“I’m never a bitch, which I’m sure you know,” Simon said, returning to scrutinizing the map.
"No, I don't know, because you act like one every fucking time we interact."
“No, I don’t. I act defensive, because you’re consistently rude to me.”
