Freya was gazing at the architecture of the building when she spotted one of the strange markings. It looked like a 'V' tilted to the right with a curl and a short line in it. She unconsciously traced the shape with her index finger. She was jerked back into reality when a bright red light shine through the room. She let out a shout or surprise and covered her eyes. The light dimmed while a sound of cracking grew louder. Freya looked to her side and saw the dragon statue cracking with the same red light shining through the cracks. A short while later, a living dragon sat in place, taking deep breaths that sounded like it was growling. "Woah! What the hell?" She yelped, falling on her rear and shuffling backwards. 'Dont be afraid, I am a friend.' a deep, but smooth voice spoke in her mind

(she's cool, izzy. i'll start soon, just gotta find the starter from the old rp. also, none of the links are working for me (pinterest is blocked on school laptop, as are the other non pinterest links). i'm not saying you can't use them, but i would much appreciate if you could maybe private message me with the photos on a different link (you can easily search google for the image if you have to)

Aurelia began to explore the room, her gaze wandering, briefly landing on each of the sigils before fixating on one in particular that drew her attention. It seemed to be… the letter a, but more curly? She didn't really know how to explain it, but that was the best explanation she could come up with. She raised a finger to trace the sigil, before pulling it back as she heard a cracking sound. She jumped back, seeing a large white dragon head directly in front of her, falling on her back. "Ow…" she mumbled, as she stood up, rubbing her back. Aurelia hadn't quite forgotten about the dragon though. Who- what- why- how? she thought, unable to focus on a single thought out of many running through her head.
Do not be afraid, child, for I am your bonded, a deep voice echoed into her head.

Lillie slowly began to stand up, holding her hand up. She knew it was stereotypical, but she wanted to try it. The green dragon smiled slightly, closed its eyes and pressed its face against her hand.
"My name is Lillie," She said softly. "What's yours?"
"My name is Brier," The dragon said. "I am a Dilong. I am your bonded. Through me, you will master your element."
Brier's voice came as a soft hiss, but it was clearly recognisable as feminine.
"My…element?"

Adrian looked around at the others. He shrugged his shoulders and walked over to the sigil in front of him. At this point, he could already predict what was going to happen, or at least, so he thought. The sigil glowed blue and the remaining dragon broke out of its stone. He sighed at the predictability for a brief second, but before he knew it, he was no longer in contact with the ground. The dragon began tossing him up and down in the air while speaking to him.
Wassup? the dragon purred I'm you bonded and all that good stuff.

Freya didnt trust what the dragon was saying so she took a few more steps back and watched the large dragon warily. The creature was larger than an adult elephant and its black scales weren't doing much to ease her nerves. The dragon let out a low rumbling sound, which if Freya didn't know wny better, sounded like he was laughing. 'I am Pyrrhos, bonded to the Fire Elemental. Which is you.' Freya was in shock and the drag-Pyrrhos used that ti his advantage and came closer. He laid down near her and watched her with intelligent blue eyes.

Child? Aurelia was no child, she was a teenager. But… now didn’t seem the time to argue that. She watched silently as the dragon in front of her laid down, head resting on his enormous paws. “W-who are you?” Aurelia whispered, leaning down so she was nearly eye level with the dragon. Ah, child. I am your bonded, and you may call me Aeros. “H-hello Aeros… I’m Aurelia, but you probably knew that already…” she trailed off, nervous. Aeros just lifted his head and shook his head silently. He didn’t know everything, but he certainly recognized that this girl was his bonded.

Adrian was more nauseous than anything at this point. "H-hey, could you, uh, p-put me down?" The dragon looked at his with a strange look but complied nonetheless. Alrighty. The dragon set Adrian on the ground, where he soon collapsed due to nausea. You alright, Adrian? He immediately looked up. "How do you know my name?" The dragon cocked its head slightly. It's not obvious? I'm your bonded it's only the basic information I need to know. Adrian was stilled confused. He had no clue what a "bonded" was and no clue who this dragon was. Who are you? the thought to ask the dragon. His thoughts were quickly interrupted. I'm Shuǐ. And a bonded is basically us creatures, typically dragons, that are "bonded" or who accompany you elementals. Blah, blah, blah. You know, all that good stuff.

Brier looked around at the other dragons, staring at them interacting with their Elementals.
"Shuǐ. Pyrrhos. Aeros. We need to focus. These Elementals have no idea, and they need to know." She was the calmest and the oldest of them all, so she was unverbally the leader.

'Of course, I am just surprised that they didnt feel the bond that we feel' Pyrrhos responded. "Hold up, I'm still stuck on the fact that you were dragon statues before this moment." Freta turned back to the other three humans in the room with wide eyes. "Whose idea was it to come here?"

Aeros stood up for a second, sitting down once more. Indeed.
"I don't know," Aurelia replied, shrugging. "But… this is really interesting."

Shuǐ looked around at her fellow dragons. I don't know. . . She looked at Adrian, This one looks like he's beginning to understand. Adrian tried to think back to all of the history back that he had ever read. He began mumbling to himself. "Elemental. . .Elemental. . ." Suddenly, something he had read in a book about dragons popped into his head.

Hydrophius. A dragon that has the ability to morph into other types of dragons and is typically found in water. The most notably known one is Shuǐ. Shuǐ is the dragon bonded to the water elemental, most notably, Anahita.

"You. . .You. . ." Shuǐ swished her tail in a curious manner. I'm? Adrian shook his head and spoke. "You were Anahita's. . .bonded, right?" Shuǐ thumped her tail in joy. You got it! You got it! She turned to the other dragons Did you hear that, guys? He got it! Adrian was still slightly confused. "But wait, if you are bonded to the water elemental, does that mean I'm the water elemental." Shuǐ lifted him up with her nose. Of course. She peered down her nose and into his eyes. Her eyes were huge, if Adrian didn't know better, he would've fainted on the spot. You know, I like this one, you're smart.

"I'm sorry. This is cool and all…but how is this possible? Like dragons makes sense because we know they used to exist. And we know about the Elementals because they were around for centuries before disappearing. How are we the new Elementals?" Lillie was struggling to wrap her head around this.
While it's true that the role of Elemental would jump from species to species and family to family, the last Elementals were the ones you all know most commonly. Because of this, you descendants are the ones to receive the ability, rather than someone from a completely different line. You are Earth, my child.
"So I'm Beaumont the Dwarf's descendant? That's why I'm so fucking short?"

"I'm Anahita's descendant, huh?" I looked himself over quickly, then flipped his hair back. "Hah! No wonder I'm so pretty," he joked. Shuǐ rolled her eyes at the joke. Okay, Adrian. I'm going to be serious for once, her voice changed from a playful tone to a suddenly more serious one. When you look at me, what do you feel? Adrian thought for a moment. "Well, at first, unimpressed. Then, after you started throwing me in the air like a ragdoll, terrified." Shuǐ inquired more. Anything else? Adrian looked her in the eyes. ". . .Now I feel safe." Shuǐ smiled, but it turned out more threatening than indearing.

"That means I'm Angi's descendant? But I look nothing like the elves you see in the movies." She said confused. 'Aah, but my child, you have the height and ears of the elf, and your eyes are exactly as his were.' Pyrrhos explained. Freya felt a little better but was still uncertain. "How do you know we are the new elemental? Were we just chosen or did our powers awaken once we released you?" She asked. 'This is a question I cannot answer with detail at this time. Answer me one of mine, what do you see when you look at me?' he asked, standing up and stretching before walking back to her and curling his body around hers in a protective stance. "Well, I see a black and red dragon that's looks like the traditional ones we've seen in the movies." She responded. 'Hmm.' Was his only response.

Unfortunately, yes.
"Then why isn't the rest of my family short?"
To put it simply…you are the descendant that the element of Earth chose. Therefore, you are the one who took after Beaumont the most.

“Huh, I’m Aither’s descendant.That would… probably explain why I’m the tallest of my family already?” Aurelia wasn’t too sure, but she directed the half-question mainly at Aeros, who was her bonded, apparently. Yes, precisely. Being the descendant of a giant, that would make perfect sense. But, pray, tell me, when you look at me, and you think about it, what do you see, what do you really see? Aurelia stepped back, and her gaze traveled up and down Aeros’ body.

Adrian shrugged his shoulders and began walking away. "Well, it was nice meeting you all," he said, despite the fact that he really only talked to one dragon, "I'll be taking my leave now, see ya." As he was walking, he felt thuds coming from behind him. He turned around to see Shuǐ following him. "Hey uh," he started to wave away Shuǐ, "you don't have to follow me."

Shuǐ grumbled slightly and shook her head. Of course I do. You are my bonded. I must stay with you no matter the cost. Adrian put his hand over his heart in mock happiness. "Oh, I'm so touched," he said, making it extremely obvious that he still had no intention of letting Shuǐ stay with him. The large dragon thumped her tail and growled. She was quickly becoming irritated. I am going with you, she snarled, you don't have a choice.

Adrian began laughing. "I do have a choice, and I say that you. Are. Not. Going." Shuǐ let out a loud roar in Adrian's face but accepted defeat. She turned to the other dragons. He's just as mean as Anahita too, she grumbled.

Ah, well that's humans, Aeros replied, letting out a soft, but deep laugh. Aurelia briefly turned her attention towards Shuǐ, but then back to Aeros. "I mean, my first thought would be that you should've been named Snow or Snowstorm or something like that, considering that you basically are white," Aurelia answered, finally addressing Aeros' question after a period of silence. Aeros stared down at Aurelia for a while before finally saying, Very well then.
