Diego paused, intimated. "I will assume you've heard of the most recent murder," he started. "That man was my best friend and unfortunately the men assigned to his case could not be held to your standards. I'm in need of your… services."
Drayce turned around completely, facing the other man, "Is that so?" He slipped his hands into his coat pockets, giving it a thought, "Best not talk here," He gestured for Diego to follow as he started to walk away from the square, "Too many listening ears."
Diego nodded in understanding and fell silent. Head down, he followed the man's weaving path through crowd. He gripped his hands together to keep them from shaking; he needed this investigator to be competent. He didn't know what else to do.
He led them through the back allies of the streets, avoiding as many exposed, open spaces as possible. The walk didn't take long, and a few minutes later, they were arriving at a street corner building, Drayce holding open one of the double doors for Diego.
