I'd really love to do a plot like this:
The wife of a wealthy man in the 1800s falls in love with one of the serving people.
I have the perfect character for the wife so I'll be playing her. The role of the serving person can be male or female, it doesn't matter to me. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I really hope that someone joins this!
Of course!

Personality: Thea is quiet, submissive, overly apologetic but she works harder than almost anyone else and is determined to prove her worth to herself and her family. For the most part, she's an eager to please, loyal person who is more than keen to carry out any task assigned to her. Growing up, she was taught that rules were in place for a reason and not following them could lead to disastrous consequences so she follows the rules down to the letter, never doing anything that she knows will upset anyone. She's a well-mannered, sweet young woman who goes out of her way to make someone smile, often baking and painting in her spare time.
History: Thea was born to Patrick and Constance Bennett, two very weathly people. As their only child she was given everything, except for their love and approval. The two had wanted a son, an heir, but they got her instead. Her birth had been difficult and there were a lot of complications. Her mother would not have survived carrying another child. It's a fact they refuse to let her forget, often blaming her for them not having a son. In a sense it's true. Other than the lack of affection, Thea was a happy child who got a wonderful education and lots of lovely things to play with. Over the years she was molded into a proper young lady. A few years ago, a man by the name of Richard Montgomery began to show interest in her. This delighted her parents as Mr. Montgomery happened to be incrediably weathly and well-known in the community. Thea, on the other hand, did not share her parents' sentiments. She wanted to marry for love, not for rank. Unfortuntely, she had no say in the matter and was promptly married to Mr. Montgomery. It's been two years since then. Her husband isn't the kindest man but he makes sure that she's well taken care of, as long as she listens to him. She does whatever he asks of her, afraid that he'll once more raise his hand. The very first week of her marriage she learned that saying no is not an option. Therefore, she complies. It doesn't always get her out of a slap or a harsh reprimand or a beating but it does lower the chances of that happening. Recently, Richard has gotten more insistant that they spend their evenings in the bedroom. She's painfully aware that he wants a son or at least a child but she most certainly does not. Too frightened to say no, she just has to go along with whatever he does. It's far from the life she wanted.
Other: She owns a small black 20lb spaniel named Addie (an engagement present from Richard) and a white canary named Pearl.
(Aw, too late. Mind if I stalk this?)

Age: 21
Gender: Female
Description: lower back-length curly dark brown hair, dark green eyes, soft features, tan skin, average height and thin graceful build

Me too! It's such a fun era. Would you like me to set up the topic?
Would you like to start with Vivian first arriving to work there?
Okay, give me a moment to write up the starter then!
The bus puttered to a stop by the wooden signpost, and Vivian along with 6 other young women got out of the vehicle to stand in the shadow of the town library.
The other 6 women were all stony-faced and professional, but Viv couldn't help her gasp of excitement as she looked up at the grand building. Dedicated to books, it was, full to the brim of every novel and biography Vivian could name… it was beautiful. And yet the clock mounted at its doorway now read 20 minutes to 2 pm, which gave Vivian 20 minutes to walk over to the house she had been assigned to. Hauling her worn leather bag onto her shoulder, she started towards the house.
With her village-girl's pace, used to carrying sacks of flour or great vats of water to and from her home, Vivian made it in a mere 10 minutes. She stopped right outside of the wrought iron gate, resisting the urge to reach out and touch the clean metal. She pushed open the gate carefully as another maidservant came rushing out of the grand white brick Victorian mansion Vivian had always dreamed about, leading around the back through the manicured gardens to the servant's entrance.
Theodosia moves swiftly through the halls of the large white mansion. The constant tick, tick, tick of the old Grandfather Clock in the parlor fills the otherwise eerie silence.
As usual, she's all alone in the all too big house. Other than the occasional appearance of one of the maids or servants, she doesn't see anyone all day. It's a lonely way to live. She sighs softly and runs her hand lightly along the spiraling banister as she climbs down the wooden stairs. The mansion is truly lovely but it only represents pain, loneliness, and oppression for her. Forcing to do whatever her husband wants is far from the life she wanted but she has no choice in her matter. The marriage was forced upon her. There was no way she could have said no. It's not as though she can do anything now.
The sound of the front door opening catches her attention. It appears as though her husband is home. She lifts up her skirts of her pale blue and white laced dress ever so slightly so that her pace can quicken. Everyday at the same time he walks in the door and she greets him. Changing the routine would no end well for her.
"How was your day, darling?" She asks, reaching up to place a kiss on his cheek. "The same as always." Is the short reply that greets her. His lack of interest no long insults her.
Her small Spaniel, Addie, comes running up to her a second later, begging to be picked up. She happily obliges and scoops the little dog up, holding her close. The dog is her only constant companion. She doesn't know what she would do without her.
As per usual, she leads the way into the parlor. "Would you like me to ask one of the serving ladies to make us some tea?" She asks her husband, offering a soft smile. "Yes, yes, that is fine, dear," Richard tells her absentmindedly. "Marissa, could you please make us some tea?" She politely requests of the other woman. The brunette answers with a curt nod before leaving the room.
No one said a word to her as she was led into the carpeted halls of the house. The moment she walked in, however, the hubub of a busy group of people rose in volume, echoing crisply off the wood walls. Not a single one of the distracted eyes left their work, though she could tell their attention was tuned in to the newcomer— Vivian herself. She stepped forward in the hall, only to almost ram into a brunette in a maid's uniform marching past her towards what sounded and smelled like the kitchen.
The conversation is dull between the married couple until the callous man mentions something of interest. Finally. It appears as though there's going to be a party at the house of one of the friends. Within the next week apparently. Theodosia smiles and goes on about how wonderful that will be. The socialization will be nice but having to put on one of her best dresses and having to be nearly squeezed to death by her smallest coreset isn't something that she looks forward to.
"It will be a good time to announce a baby."
The statement causes her to nearly choke on air. Oh, no, not this topic again. "Darling, there is no baby," She tells him quietly, neatly folding her hands and setting them on her lap. Before this can be discussed further, Marissa arrives with the tea and a plate of cookies.
The same maid stalked past her, loaded with tea and cookies, as Vivian was led towards the rooms. Hers, was the last one in the hall, the smallest and coldest room. But it was still better than what she'd left behind. She unpacked what little she owned, and changed into the uniform, heading into the kitchen as she'd been told to do.
She was given a bowl of vegetables and a peeler as she sat down on the stool, and started on her task.
