(Sorry. One of those lazy days for me, lol)
The AI’s eyes flashed and it inclined its head.
“Hiro Lifeform is intriguing,”it said.
Malcolm looked between the two, noticing the flash from both. Hiro had definitely inherited the spy nanobot’s linking ability, and in a way that was becoming a bit scary.
" oh really? How exactly?" He asked
The AI didn’t react to Hiro’s question. Instead, it sent him a highly detailed image of a scan of Hiro’s own body, focusing on the metal skeleton.
“Hiro Lifeform is a well-crafted Bio-AI, though made of primitive technology. That is intriguing,”the AI replied.
Malcolm rose an eyebrow.
“You’re intrigued by primitive technology?”
The Ai turned.
“We are intrigued by your primitive technology. However, we never thought you would create a Bio-AI,”it said.
“I did not create him,”Malcolm said.
The AI stared, its featureless face not moving. It almost seemed to be calculating something, or even lost in thought.
" I was built by a man who stole his design. Illegal I was put into this world and none the less leave by the same hands if he ever catches me." He said and yawned
(So, could you explain what Hiro is saying? I thought Hiro didn’t know that he was Malcolm’s design)
(Also, what does the second sentence mean? Who is he referring to?)
( Hiro caught on, mostly because he already knew his dad was a bad person and seeing that skeleton only gave him more proof of that.)
(Ah, okay. I was wondering if he had caught on)
The AI turned to Hiro, intrigued. It then looked at Malcolm.
“This true?”
“I…”
Malcolm paused, flustered. He looked at Hiro, wondering how in the hell the boy had figured out his involvement. How much did he actually know?
“Kid, how the fuck do you know that? I never once mentioned that I knew your father, or that he had stolen my fucking designs?”he asked.
There was no point in hiding it. His ability to lie had faded over the years, primarily because his increasingly apathetic view on everything had made him brutally honest.
The AI watched, curious about the whole situation.
" from the get go i knew he wasn't right, being able to create life and not flaunt it off is something that man just doesn't do. he flaunted every upper hand he got. and then when i seen your reaction to the skeleton it only confirmed the fact that i was stolen." he said
Malcolm sighed.
“Yeah, I remember now how he liked to show off everything. I don’t know why I ever agreed to work with the fucking prick. Boredom, probably. Next thing I know, I’m ‘fired’ and thrown out of the lab. Never realized he had turned the skeleton I made into you, nor did I ever find out, until now, that he sold my designs to Alecorp, probably under his own name too.”
Malcolm rolled his eyes. He didn’t want to mention yet that he was more than glad now that the bastard was dead, and that he had been the one to do it.
hiro yawned again, hanging his head slightly as he grew more tired. his spine flashed red again and hiro looked toward the ai. " anything else?'
The AI watched Hiro, then looked at Malcolm.
“We have business with you. Hiro Lifeform may rest.”
Malcolm nodded.
“Let me get him situated, and I’ll come back.”
The AI nodded. Malcolm turned to Hiro.
“Come on, kid. I’ve got a few spare rooms downstairs,”he said, heading toward the door to the back room of the shop.
hiro followed, " id be careful… i dont trust that bot…"
Malcolm glanced at him.
“As I said earlier, I built the AIs. And, for whatever fucking reason, that fascinates them. They won’t hurt me, and they won’t hurt you because you’re with me,”he explained.
Malcolm led him downstairs into a storage area for the store. He opened one of the cabinets, grabbing a few miniaturized items, then walked over to a hatch in the floor.
Beneath that hatch was a large bunker that served as Malcolm’s home, and his lab. Malcolm climbed down the ladder into a living room of sorts, then stepped into a fairly good sized room to the side. He set up the miniaturized items, then brought them to full size. There was a bed, a nightstand, a desk and the matching chair, and a wardrobe.
“It’s not fucking five-star quality, but everything works. If you need shelves, let me know,”Malcolm said, moving out of the way so Hiro could look at the room.
Hiro nodded waiting till Malcolm left to re organize things. He eventually laid down, falling asleep so quick it was scary. Hiro slept for a few good hours..
Bax settled against Hiro, keeping him company while he slept.
Malcolm nodded once Hiro was asleep, then headed back up to talk with the AI. They had noticed his absence from the neighborhood and were curious why he had left. He was honest, explaining that Hiro had helped him find more supplies, though he didn’t specify where. The AI didn’t question him, and left shortly after.
Malcolm then returned to the bunker, heading to his room for a much-needed nap.
Hiro rolled over in his bed, his whimpering and whining
Bax gently tapped and petted Hiro, trying to soothe him.
Hiro jerked up, shaking harshly. His breathing was so uneaven it sounded like he was treading water.
Bax flashed at him, tapping its legs together to gain his attention. It seemed quite concerned, but unsure how to comfort Hiro.
Hiro noticed Bax finally, scooping the box up and holding it to him ," sorry bax.."
Bac flashed at Hiro, accepting the apology. It resumed tapping and petting him, wanting to make sure he was okay.
" I'm fine bud.. just a bad dream.." he said and took a deep breath..
Bax flashed in acknowledgment, though it didn’t seem to really understand what he meant by ‘bad dream’. It continued its taps and pets to help soothe Hiro.
Hiro sighed and laid back down. " I wish I could teach you to talk.. so you could actually understand me.."
Bax considered Hiro’s words a moment, then pointed at the door, as if to indicate Malcolm.
