I know it probably depends on the person - but do you guys find it easier to compose a detailed plan before writing, a loose outline or do you just go with it?

i just go with it, which tends to lead to some unexpected plot twists.

i usually have specific scenes in mind before i start writing a story, then i start writing to get to those scenes. sometimes i can't because things happen, but i rarely delve into a story with a plan. i've always wanted to plan out a story beforehand, but i'd rather be writing than planning.
