I'm considering writing a fantasy story incorporating the most confusing part of my lore, but if I don't write that I have other things I can work on.
Basically, the story is about a fox-girl (minou) who lives in a fantasy universe parallel to the real world where certain people can create things just by willing them into existence. The last one of these people died, but she used her last powers to create a multiverse that could live on without her and split herself into three animals that act like anchors to keep the multiverse stable. Two of the anchors (minou and wrath) are repeated in every universe, and the third one (shima) can travel between universes. Sometimes minou will wake up with the personality, skills, or memories of an alternate version of her.
Before the story Shima had split a part of herself to be repeated in every universe and it's a beast that acts like the protector and lover to minou's alternate versions. Minou starts feeling upset that she doesn't have someone like that, and after Shima nearly dies the multiverse starts acting weird. So Minou starts waking up as a hybrid of herself and wrath, the other anchor who is a dragon. She plans to force a leak with a universe where she is a human so she can go out into the real world. She makes it work and ends up looking fully human. She meets a guy who follows her back to her realm. They eventually fall for each other and she gets someone to protect her and they get a weird happily ever after.
.
Is this way too complicated? I have other stories that use this lore but don't incorporate it nearly as much as this story would, so I'm not very confident about writing about it.
